Trump era: Fascist dawn, or road to liberation?

US National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster is expected to leave his position by April after clashing repeatedly with President Donald Trump, US media reported.

US National Security Adviser Allegedly Planning to Resign - Reports 02.03.2018
https://sputniknews.com/us/201803021062140421-usa-trump-mcmaster-resignation-reports/

McMaster's resignation and replacement are being orchestrated by White House Chief of Staff John Kelly and Defense Secretary James Mattis, NBC News reported on Thursday, citing five people privy to the matter.

McMaster had no close ties to Trump before he was appointed in February 2017 and chose to remain a serving three star lieutenant general in the US Army. There have been many reports of Trump being angered by some of his ultra-hawkish statements, the report said.

One of many remarks that drew the president's quick rebuke was McMaster's comment at a forum in Germany that Russian meddling in the US election was "incontrovertible," according to the report.

Meanwhile, Ford Motor Company Vice President Stephen Biegun is reportedly regarded as a leading candidate to succeed McMaster. He worked on the National Security Council from 2001 to 2003 under then-National Security Adviser Condoleezza Rice.

However, Donald Trump has instantly slammed a media report that McMaster was going to leave office by the end of April as "fake news," and he praised his National Security Adviser as doing "a great job," National Security Council spokesman Michael Anton said.

"I was just with President Trump and H. R. McMaster in the Oval Office. President Trump said that the NBC News story is ‘fake news,’ and told McMaster that he is doing a great job," Anton told reporters on Thursday.

Earlier in the day, the media outlet had reported that McMaster was expected to leave office by the end of April and that Secretary of Defense James Mattis and White House Chief of Staff John Kelly wanted him out.

The report and Trump's reported reaction to it came a day after White House Director of Communications Hope Hicks announced her own resignation.

US President Donald Trump wants his daughter Ivanka and her husband Jared Kushner to leave the White House, notwithstanding the fact that he keeps telling them that they should continue being a part of the presidential administration, The New York Times reported Friday.

Trump Wants 'First Daughter' Ivanka, Her Husband to Leave White House - Reports
https://sputniknews.com/us/201803021062157571-trump-ivanka-kushner-white-house-leave/

According to the newspaper, a number of Trump's advisers have expressed their dissatisfaction with the fact that Kushner and his wife still had their job, despite the president indicating that they should resign.

The media outlet added, citing several other Trump advisers, that the president had told his eldest daughter and her husband that they should continue working at the White House even though he had asked White House Chief of Staff John Kelly to assist him in getting them to resign.

Ivanka and Kushner reportedly hold a grudge against Kelly, who they consider an obstacle to the president's success. The pair also believes that the chief of staff is against their presence in the White House, according to the newspaper.

Following Trump's victory in the 2016 election, his daughter and her husband became part of the presidential administration.

On Tuesday, US media reported that Kushner's security clearance was downgraded from Top Secret/SCI-level to Secret level due to procedural changes made by Kelly.

Commenting on the issue, White House Spokeswoman Sarah Sanders said that Kushner would continue to play a significant role in the presidential administration. Trump said that he considered the crackdown on Kushner groundless, but the issues related to security clearance were Kelly's responsibility.

Both President Trump and the National Rifle Association said they had a “great” meeting Thursday evening at the White House, one day after the president roiled gun rights advocates when he suggested illegally taking away guns from dangerous people.

NRA after ‘great’ meeting: Trump supports ‘strong’ due process, doesn’t want gun control
http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/nra-after-great-meeting-trump-supports-strong-due-process-doesnt-want-gun-control/article/2650506

At one point he disagreed with Vice President Mike Pence’s statement that no one’s rights should be trampled in gun control legislation.

“Take the firearms first and then go to court,” Trump said. “Because that’s another system — a lot of times by the time you go to court, it takes so long to go to court, to get the due process procedures.” He added, “I like taking the guns early. Like, in this crazy man’s case that just took place in Florida. He had a lot of firearms, they saw everything. To go to court would have taken a long time. You could do exactly what you’re saying, but take the guns first, go through due process second.”

There have been renewed calls of late for some form of gun control measures following a shooting at a high school in Parkland, Fla., which left 17 people dead and several more injured.

Trump expressed openness to a bill with comprehensive background checks and fixes to the FBI’s instant background check system. He also seemed to support the idea of raising the legal buying age for a rifle purchase from 18 to 21.

While the NRA is supportive of legislation to “fix” the National Instant Criminal Background Check System, the group opposes raising the minimum age requirement to purchase guns.

Nikolas Cruz, the 19-year-old confessed shooter in last week’s shooting, lawfully purchased the AR-15-style rifle that was used to conduct the attack. Some Republicans, including Florida Gov. Rick Scott, have since defied the NRA, calling for the age limit to purchase rifles to be raised to 21.

Trump has repeatedly called out the NRA in the past several days, noting during the meeting Wednesday that some of the lawmakers in attendance were “petrified” of the NRA and that the powerful gun lobby had “less” control over him.

The president also recently told a gathering of governors, “Don’t worry about the NRA. They’re on our side.”

But, he added, “if they’re not with you, we have to fight them every once in awhile. That’s OK. They’re doing what they think is right.”

Trump’s apparent turnaround with the NRA during their meeting Wednesday is very similar to how he appeared to embrace the Democratic point of view on immigration during a meeting in January. Like that meeting, members of the media were allowed in the room to tape some of the discussion on guns, and by extension, caught a glimpse of some of the perplexed Republicans and gleeful Democrats.

US President Donald Trump said Saturday that he expected success in solving the North Korean issue amid the announcement of possible talks with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.

Trump Expects 'Tremendous Success' in Dealing With North Korean Problem
https://sputniknews.com/world/201803111062408786-north-korea-us-trump/

I think North Korea is going very well, I think we will have tremendous success. I think this is going to be something very successful. We have a lot of support… So that would be great," Trump told reporters before leaving for a rally in US state of Pennsylvania as quoted in a White House press release.

He also said that expected Pyongyang to stick to its promise to cease all ballistic missile and nuclear tests and noted that North Korea was looking to denuclearization.

On Tuesday, South Korean delegation announced that North Korean side and its leader Kim Jong Un confirmed commitment to demilitarization of the Korean Peninsula during the meeting in Pyongyang. Additionally, North Korea expressed a willingness to hold talks with the United States, as well as pause all nuclear tests and missile launches during the negotiations.

Secretary of State Rex Tillerson on Friday said Washington had been surprised by North Korean leader Kim Jong Un’s willingness to hold direct talks with the US on the nuclear standoff in the Korean peninsula.

US ‘Surprise’ at North Korea Talk Offer: Tillerson
http://english.almanar.com.lb/459853

“What changed was his posture in a fairly dramatic way,” Tillerson said in Djibouti during a five-nation Africa tour.

In all honesty, that came as a little bit of a surprise to us, as well that he was so forward-leaning in his conversations with the delegation from South Korea.”

Tillerson’s comments came after President Trump agreed to a historic meeting with Kim, the first ever between a US president and a North Korean leader. The meeting is due to take place by the end of May.

News of the summit, which South Korean President Moon Jae-in said was “like a miracle”, is the latest step in a quickening detente after a period of heightened rhetoric and extreme tension between Washington and Pyongyang.

Just hours before the summit announcement, Tillerson had said that the United States was “a long way” from talking directly to North Korea.

“In terms of direct talks… we’re a long way from negotiations, we just need to be very clear-eyed and realistic about it,” Tillerson had said in the Ethiopian capital of Addis Ababa on Thursday.

A first step would be “talks about talks” to see if “conditions are right to even begin thinking about negotiations,” Tillerson had said.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on Friday hailed a proposed meeting between US President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un as “a step in the right direction”.

Russia: Trump-Kim Meeting ‘a Step in The Right Direction’
http://english.almanar.com.lb/459798

“We do hope that this meeting is going to take place,” Lavrov said after meeting with African Union chairperson Moussa Faki Mahamat at the body’s headquarters in the Ethiopian capital. “Certainly, it is required to normalize the situation around the Korean peninsula.”

South Korea on Thursday said the two leaders would hold an unprecedented summit by the end of May. The announcement was confirmed by the White House.

News of the summit is the latest move in a fast-developing diplomatic detente, with North and South Korea exchanging envoys after the two neighbors marched together under a unified flag at the Winter Olympics.

It follows a period of extreme tension between Washington and Pyongyang which saw the two leaders exchanging bitter, personal insults, with Trump mocking Kim as a “little rocket man” and Kim describing him as “mentally deranged”.

Lavrov was in Ethiopia as part of a five-day African tour which began on Monday with a visit to Angola after which he continued on to Namibia, Mozambique and Zimbabwe.

US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson has fallen ill while on tour in Africa and has cancelled several events on his diplomatic schedule.

US Secretary of State Tillerson Ill, Cancels Africa Tour Events
https://sputniknews.com/us/201803101062403346-tillerson-ill-cancels-africa-events/

Tillerson, currently on a round of diplomatic visits to the governments of Kenya, Chad, Nigeria, Djibouti and Ethiopia, was announced by US state department representatives to have fallen ill on Saturday in Nairobi, according to The Hill.

"The secretary is not feeling well after a long couple days working on major issues back home such as North Korea," stated undersecretary of State for public diplomacy and public affairs Steve Goldstein, while on tour with Tillerson.

Goldstein added that, "some events will go ahead without [Tillerson], while they are looking at the possibility of rescheduling others," cited by The Hill.

Tillerson's Saturday schedule in Kenya had included an event for the President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief, as well as a wreath-laying ceremony and a meeting with Americans working at the US embassy in the country's capital.

Earlier, Bloomberg had reported that the US secretary of state would resume his schedule on Sunday, although no confirmation has been provided by Tillerson's entourage.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson have not met during their visit to Ethiopia, a source in the Russian delegation said Friday.

https://sputniknews.com/world/201803091062362452-meeting-lavrov-tillerson-ethiopia/

"There was no meeting," the source told reporters.

Earlier in the day, the Russian Embassy in Washington DC offered to send a formal invitation for a meeting between the Russian and US foreign ministers via Twitter, after the US State Department had denied receiving it by more conventional means.

Lavrov arrived in Ethiopia on Thursday evening in the framework of his Africa tour. Tillerson is also paying an official visit to the country as part of his trip to the continent. According to the Russian Embassy in the United States, the diplomats also stayed in the same hotel.

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said Monday that Russia had proposed holding a meeting between the two top diplomats, after which US State Department spokeswoman Heather Nauert suggested that Washington had not received the request. She reiterated this claim on Thursday.

Lavrov meanwhile said earlier that Tillerson himself had offered to find a convenient time and place for the meeting after they had failed to meet in New York on the sidelines of the UN Security Council session.
Both ministers are in Ethiopia on Friday.

Trump has lost a record number of officials in his first year. Here are the major departures from the White House and beyond

The biggest Trump resignations and firings – so far (Photos) Tue 13 Mar 2018
https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2018/mar/07/donald-trump-white-house-resignations-firings-full-list

If you’re having trouble keeping track of all the staffers leaving the Trump White House of late, you could certainly be forgiven. A recent analysis by the Brookings Institution found that Donald Trump’s team has had a record number of departures, with a turnover rate twice as high as that of the Reagan administration.

That rate leapt a little higher on Tuesday morning when it was announced that Trump’s secretary of state Rex Tillerson had been fired and replaced with CIA director Mike Pompeo.

“People will always come & go … ” Trump tweeted last week, noting: “I still have some people that I want to change (always seeking perfection).”

He added later: “So many people want to come in. I have a choice of anybody. I could take any position in the White House and I’ll have a choice of the 10 top people having to do with that position – everybody wants to be there.”

Here’s a few people who didn’t want to be there – or who Trump has shown the door.

Rex Tillerson, secretary of state

13 March 2018 Tillerson had reportedly been mulling departure from the administration since the summer, according to an October NBC News report which said that vice-president Mike Pence had to talk the US top diplomat out of leaving. Early Tuesday, Trump fired him anyway.

Tensions had been simmering between the former oil executive Tillerson, and the president ever since it was reported that Tillerson called Trump a “-flicking-g moron”. The tiff seemed to be indicative of a broader chasm, both in style and substance, between the two men. Trump may have wanted to drop Tillerson before a scheduled meeting between Trump and North Korea, an issue on which the president and secretary of state had repeatedly butted heads.

Gary Cohn, director of national economic council

6 March 2018 Cohn probably lasted longer than anyone could have reasonably expected. In a White House aggressively staffed with family members and novice sycophants, the former Goldman Sachs No 2 was a rare, highly experienced professional. He was also a registered Democrat in an administration where bipartisanship has never been a particularly privileged part of the program. Cohn’s globalist leanings were always out of whack with Trump’s brand of economic protectionism, and he reportedly considered the president “dumb as shit”, according to the journalist Michael Wolff in his book Fire and Fury. Trump’s plan for tariffs on steel and aluminum were reportedly the straw that broke the camel’s back.

Hope Hicks, communications director

28 February 2018 Even in the Trump White House, where personnel attrition has become a defining feature, Hicks’s departure came as a surprise to many given her close relationship with the president, and meteoric rise within the Trump circle. Hicks, the administration’s fourth, and by far longest surviving, communications director, had zero political experience when she joined the Trump campaign team in Iowa in 2015, but quickly gained Trump’s trust for decisiveness and unflappability, traits Trump strongly admires. According to some reports, the president also boosted Hicks early and often on account of her looks. Hicks was instrumental in crafting the White House’s defense around the Trump Tower meeting between members of the Trump campaign and Russian operatives, and admitted telling certain “white lies” on the president’s behalf during a recent marathon appearance before the House intelligence committee.

Rob Porter, staff secretary

7 February 2018 Porter, who served as a senior aide to Trump’s chief of staff, John Kelly, resigned after both of his ex-wives went public with reports of domestic abuse. Colbie Holderness, Porter’s first wife, told the Daily Mail that he was “verbally, emotionally and physically abusive”. His second wife, Jennifer Willoughby, made similar allegations and said she had filed an emergency protective order against Porter. It was later reported that Porter had been working with access to extremely sensitive government documents without a full security clearance, in large part because of the outstanding allegations against him. Kelly supported Porter personally as a friend and “trusted professional” but said: “There is no place for domestic violence in our society.”

Omarosa Manigault-Newman, director of communications for Office of Public Liaison

13 December 2017 Omarosa, a Trump protege of Apprentice fame, never had an especially clear role in the administration, aside from being generally tapped by Trump for any issues involving black Americans. Sparing little time in her re-entry to reality television, Omarosa made waves weeks later on Celebrity Big Brother during a tearful confession with another contestant about why she joined the administration and how worried she was about its direction. “It’s going to not be OK. It’s not,” she said. “It’s so bad.”

Tom Price, health secretary

29 September 2017 While many Trump departures have been dramatic and steeped in various flavors of soap opera-level intrigue, the departure of Price was much more typical of a presidential administration resignation. After it was revealed that the then head of health and human services had chartered private air travel for himself to the tune of more than $1m, Price apologized, offered to pay back the money and ultimately resigned. At the time Trump called Price a “very fine man” but said he did not like the “optics”, adding: “I’m not happy, OK?” Price was already on the ropes after multiple failed attempts by the Trump administration to deliver on its promise of repealing the Affordable Care Act.

Sebastian Gorka

25 August 2017 Like Steve Bannon, Gorka was a fringe rightwing presence in the Trump administration, and a person of questionable expertise on foreign policy and terrorism, the topics Trump tapped him to address. He frequently appeared as a surrogate for Trump on cable news, where he appeared to enjoy stirring controversy and making inflammatory statements. The New York Times reported that the president’s incoming chief of staff, John Kelly, personally forced Gorka out. Bannon was soon to follow.

Steve Bannon, chief strategist

18 August 2017 When Bannon left his role as White House chief strategist in August, he said that he would be “going to war for Trump against his opponents” from outside the administration. The former Breitbart publisher returned to the rightwing publication, saying: “I’ve got my hands back on my weapons.” But the political strategist quickly shot himself in the foot, providing some particularly spicy quotes about his former co-workers to Fire and Fury author Michael Wolff. Bannon quickly lost the support of Breitbart, Breitbart funder Rebekah Mercer and Trump himself, who gave his erstwhile aide the nickname “Sloppy Steve”.

Anthony Scaramucci

1 August 2017 He came, he mooched, he got fired. Anthony Scaramucci’s 10-day tenure as White House communications director will forever be remembered for his questionable decision to call a New Yorker reporter and unleash a profanity-laden tirade against other White House staffers. The embarrassing debacle proved exciting for news media standards editors tasked with deciding whether to print the phrase “I’m not trying to suck my own cock”, and left the administration in search of a communications director who understood the difference between talking to a reporter on or off the record.

Reince Priebus

28 July 2017 It’s hard to point to a time during Reince Priebus’s seven-month stint as White House chief of staff that he wasn’t the subject of speculation about when he would be fired. The former Republican National Committee chairman was supposed to bring inside-the-beltway savvy to the Trumpian outsiders, but his tenure was largely notable for palace intrigue, political blunders and all-around chaos.

Sean Spicer

21 July 2017 Spicer spent his first day on the job as White House press secretary berating journalists for reporting accurately on the size of Trump’s inauguration crowd. And things only went downhill from there. Spicer’s time at the podium did provide the American public with some fascinating teachable moments on issues such as the proper term for Nazi concentration camps (hint: it’s not “Holocaust centers”) and the precise distinction between a wall and a fence. Spicer resigned after disagreeing with Trump over his decision to hire Scaramucci, thereby saving himself the humiliation of having to explain that whole situation to the White House press corps.

Michael Flynn, national security adviser

14 February 2017 The former general’s stint as national security adviser was brief – just 23 days – but Flynn’s presence still haunts the White House. That’s because Flynn, who resigned after it was revealed that he had misled the vice-president, Mike Pence, about his communications with the Russian ambassador, struck a plea deal in December with special counsel Robert Mueller. Flynn pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI and pledged “full cooperation” with Mueller in his Russian interference investigation.

Sally Yates, acting attorney general

31 January 2017 An Obama administration holdover, Yates served as acting attorney general while Jeff Sessions’s nomination for that office made its way through Congress. On principle, Yates declined to enforce Trump’s proposed travel ban, writing in a letter that she was not “convinced that the executive order is lawful”. Although she was fired within hours and accused of “betrayal” by the White House, a series of federal judges would go on to agree with Yates.

Clinton was in the country promoting her book, “What Happened.” Yes, she’s still bitter about losing to President Trump.

NTK Network reports:

Hillary Clinton suggested that people who supported President Trump in 2016 did so because they “didn’t like black people getting rights,” or women getting jobs, during a discussion at the India Today Conclave on Sunday.

“If you look at the map of the United States, there’s all that red in the middle where Trump won. I win the coasts, I win Illinois, I win Minnesota, places like that,” Clinton said.

“What the map doesn’t show you is that I won the places that represent two-thirds of America’s gross domestic product,” Clinton explained. “So I won the places that are optimistic, diverse, dynamic, moving forward. And his whole campaign, ‘Make America Great Again,’ was looking backwards.”

Well, that is a surprise for me as well. Tillerson was one of the guys around Trump who seemed to fairly decent. Mike Pompeo (current CIA chief) is supposed to step up as secretary for Tillerson now and Gina Haspel is supposed to be the new chief of the CIA.

Trump is now completely owned by the Dark Side. Not a surprise, I guess. He doesn't have enough money to defend against those bastards.

I'm afraid you're right. Given the developments with Tillerson, Pompeo and Haspel, and given Nikki Haley's threats to Syria at the UN, and given the White House statements about being with the UK gov in condemning Russia for the Skripal poisoning, the continued rhetoric against Iran, Trump's Tweeting about Russian meddling, etc. - you have to wonder just what the heck they put in Trump's soda. Things seem to be coming to a head very quickly now. I keep wanting to imagine that Trump is maneuvering to do as little damage as possible while seeming or pretending he's on board with the war party, but it just looks like so many of the pieces are in place for an escalation in conflict and carnage that simply can't or won't be held back by him anymore. Maybe he's contented himself with a few domestic policy wins and has now capitulated to the Deep State out of an unspoken compromise. ie. "Ok, I'll hate on Russia if you guys leave me the heck alone to do my 'MAGA' thing".

For some reason all of this was driven home for me this morning when, looking at an RT YouTube video there under it was this message:

'RT is funded in whole or in part by the Russian Government' - as though that should be a deterrent for viewing it and make one want to click away from the page!

Where do we go from there? The US seems on the brink of civil war. Is there any hope? Though I don't know what hope would mean if it came in the form of a natural disaster.

Andrew McCabe To Be Fired Days Ahead Of Retirement: NYT

Cruel and unusual? Perhaps. But The NY Times reports that Attorney General Jeff Sessions is reviewing a recommendation to fire the former F.B.I. deputy director, Andrew G. McCabe, just days before he is scheduled to retire on Sunday.

As a reminder, McCabe stepped down in late January, though reports suggested McCabe was reportedly forced to step down. According to Fox News, McCabe was "removed" from his post as deputy director, "leaving the bureau after months of conflict-of-interest complaints from Republicans including President Trump."
mccabe%201.jpg

mccabe%20wife.jpg

mccabe%203.jpg

In both cases, his early departure suggests that he was forced out for a few reasons...

Several media outlets reported that McCabe is using his remaining vacation days to go on "terminal leave" and that his official retirement from the agency won't happen until March, allowing him to collect the full pension.

But that 'spotless record' may now be given the official 'black mark':

As NYTimes details that Mr. McCabe is ensnared in an internal review that includes an examination of his decision in 2016 to allow F.B.I. officials to speak with reporters about an investigation into the Clinton Foundation.

The Justice Department’s inspector general concluded that Mr. McCabe was not forthcoming during the review, according to the people briefed on the matter.

That yet-to-be-released report triggered an F.B.I. disciplinary process that recommended his termination - leaving Mr. Sessions to either accept or reverse that decision.

Lack of candor is a fireable offense, but like so much at the F.B.I., Mr. McCabe’s fate is also entangled in presidential politics and the special counsel investigation.

How long before we see a tweet from President Trump demanding Sessions pull the trigger on McCabe?

Though no decision has been made, people inside the Justice Department expect him to be fired before Friday, a decision that would jeopardize his pension as a 21-year F.B.I. veteran...

Finally, as NYTimes notes, firing Mr. McCabe, even on the recommendation of the disciplinary office, would be controversial. Among Mr. McCabe’s allies, the decision would raise the specter that Mr. Sessions was influenced by Mr. Trump’s frequent derisive comments. No deputy director in the history of the F.B.I. has been fired.

But Mr. Sessions would be able to point to a critical inspector general’s report and say he followed Justice Department protocol.

Is Trump about to get the last laugh after all?

Another one - bites the dust ...

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2018/03/16/former-fbi-deputy-director-andrew-mccabe-fired.html

The Justice Department dealt a stunning blow to former Acting FBI Director Andrew McCabe on Friday night, firing him just days before he would have been eligible for a lifetime pension after determining that he lied to investigators reviewing the bureau’s probe of Hillary Clinton’s email server.

"Pursuant to Department Order 1202, and based on the report of the Inspector General, the findings of the FBI Office of Professional Responsibility, and the recommendation of the Department’s senior career official, I have terminated the employment of Andrew McCabe effective immediately," Attorney General Jeff Sessions said in a statement.

"After an extensive and fair investigation and according to Department of Justice procedure, the Department’s Office of the Inspector General (OIG) provided its report on allegations of misconduct by Andrew McCabe to the FBI’s Office of Professional Responsibility (OPR)," Sessions said.

"The FBI’s OPR then reviewed the report and underlying documents and issued a disciplinary proposal recommending the dismissal of Mr. McCabe. Both the OIG and FBI OPR reports concluded that Mr. McCabe had made an unauthorized disclosure to the news media and lacked candor − including under oath − on multiple occasions.

The FBI expects every employee to adhere to the highest standards of honesty, integrity, and accountability. As the OPR proposal stated, 'all FBI employees know that lacking candor under oath results in dismissal and that our integrity is our brand.'"

McCabe hit back in a fiery response of his own.

This attack on my credibility is one part of a larger effort not just to slander me personally, but to taint the FBI, law enforcement, and intelligence professionals more generally," McCabe said. "It is part of this Administration’s ongoing war on the FBI and the efforts of the Special Counsel investigation, which continue to this day. Their persistence in this campaign only highlights the importance of the Special Counsel’s work."

McCabe's firing marked stunning fall for a man who was No. 2 at the bureau for a time under Comey, ran it and even was reportedly on President Trump’s short list for the directorship.

But McCabe has also been mired in controversy in recent years.

Sessions’ decision to fire McCabe came as Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz concluded a bureau oversight investigation, with a report expected to be critical of McCabe’s handling of the Clinton email probe, his handling of the bureau during the early months of the Russia investigation, and his ties to the Democratic Party.

Horowitz determined that McCabe hadn't been forthcoming in regard to the handling of the FBI’s probe into Clinton’s use of a private email server while she was secretary of state in the Obama administration.

The inspector general’s finding sparked an FBI disciplinary process that recommended McCabe’s firing.

Sources told Fox News that the FBI’s Office of Professional Responsibility made the recommendation to fire McCabe. Sessions had the option to either accept the recommendation, or step in to stop the firing process.

Horowitz’s investigation, which landed McCabe in hot water, faults the former deputy director for the way he answered questions about his approval for interactions between an FBI official and a reporter about the bureau’s investigation into the nonprofit Clinton Foundation.

McCabe was “removed” from his post as deputy to FBI Director Christopher Wray in January, setting in motion a plan to leave the bureau after months of conflict-of-interest complaints from Republicans — including President Donald Trump.

White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders said Thursday that the decision was entirely up to Sessions, but that McCabe was a "bad actor."

"That's a determination we
up to Attorney General Sessions, but we do think that it is well documented that he has had some very troubling behavior and has been a bad actor," Sanders said.

“FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe is racing the clock to retire with full benefits. 90 days to go?!!!” Trump tweeted in December, before McCabe’s removal.

McCabe became acting director of the FBI after Trump fired Comey on May 9, 2017. He led the bureau, independently, until Aug. 2, 2017 — during the early months of the investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential election and potential collusion with Trump campaign associates.

Republicans have also long criticized McCabe for his ties to the Democratic Party — his wife received donations during a failed 2015 Virginia Senate run from a group tied to a Clinton ally, former Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe — all while the Clinton email probe was underway.

“How can FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, the man in charge, along with leakin’ James Comey, of the Phony Hillary Clinton investigation (including her 33,000 illegally deleted emails) be given $700,000 for wife’s campaign by Clinton Puppets during investigation?” the president tweeted in December.

The president was “not a part of the decisionmaking process,” when McCabe was removed from the bureau in January, Press Secretary Sanders said.

McCabe returned to the white-hot spotlight when Republicans on the House Intelligence Committee released their memo on Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) abuses in connection with the Russia probe, saying that McCabe signed a FISA warrant targeting former Trump campaign volunteer adviser Carter Page.

“McCabe testified before the committee in December 2017 that no surveillance warrant would have been sought from the [FISA court] without the Steele dossier information,” the memo read. The Steele dossier was unverified, and financed as opposition research by the Democratic National Committee and the Clinton campaign.

And recently uncovered text messages between FBI officials Peter Strzok and Lisa Page revealed a new timeline in the Clinton email probe, revealing a timeline of McCabe’s knowledge in the investigation.

The text messages suggest that as of Sept. 28, 2016, Strzok, Page and McCabe were aware of new Clinton emails found on the laptop of disgraced Rep. Anthony Weiner, spouse of Hillary Clinton aide Huma Abedin.

“Got called up to Andy’s earlier … hundreds of thousands of emails turned over by Weiner’s atty to sdny, includes a ton of material from spouse. Sending team up tomorrow to review…this will never end …” Strzok wrote in a text message to Page.

But it wasn’t until Oct. 27, 2016 that FBI Director Comey was briefed on the newly discovered emails — meaning McCabe kept the director in the dark for a month.

Horowitz is specifically investigating McCabe and whether he wanted to avoid taking action on the laptop findings until after the presidential election, in which Clinton lost to Trump.

According to testimony obtained by Fox News from an Office of Special Counsel interview with former Comey Chief of Staff James Rybicki, McCabe’s office did not notify him until the night of Oct. 26, 2016.

The OSC also interviewed FBI Deputy General Counsel Trisha Anderson, who testified that Comey was first briefed on the material found on Weiner’s laptop on Oct. 27, 2016.

Anderson noted that the director’s office decided to “urgently” address the situation.

“Given the significance of the matter, um, uh, that we had to proceed quickly,” Anderson told investigators. “It was just too, too explosive for us to sit on.”

So it wasn’t until Oct. 28, 2016, that Comey sent a letter to Congress announcing the “recent developments” of the discovery of the Clinton and Abedin communications found on the laptop —which he had just been briefed on a day before. That letter reopened the Clinton email probe just a week before the election — the inspector general is investigating McCabe’s involvement in this timeline.

Several Republicans also have pointed with alarm to the Strzok-Page texts and their references to McCabe in relation to an “insurance policy” to prevent Trump from being elected president, and a “secret society” within the bureau.

Mark your calendars! As if there isn’t enough daily drama swirling around Washington, in early or mid-April there is likely to be an announcement that will titillate the nation’s capital more than a Stormy Daniels interview on “60 Minutes.”

Expect an 'After Easter' Bombshell Announcement From Speaker Ryan Mar 16, 2018
https://townhall.com/columnists/myraadams/2018/03/16/expect-an-after-easter-bombshell-announcement-from-speaker-ryan-n2461284

According to a frontline GOP strategist (name asked to be withheld) “after Easter” is when House Speaker Paul Ryan will announce his decision whether or not to run for reelection in Wisconsin’s 1st congressional district. Speaker Ryan, age 48, has represented his home district since winning the seat in 1998 at age 28.

Ryan’s 2018 reelection decision is imminent given Wisconsin’s filing deadline of June 1 with an August 14 primary. Thus, April is the expected time frame when this strategist believes the speaker will drop his bombshell.

Wisconsin’s 1st district is the most southeastern in the state. It is situated along the eastern portion of the northern Illinois border encompassing Kenosha and Racine counties including portions of Milwaukee, Rock, Walworth, and Waukesha counties.

In 2016, Ryan won the district with 65 percent of the vote, a slight increase from 63 percent in 2014. A vast improvement from 2012 when Ryan won 54.9 percent after his name appeared twice on his district’s ballot —first as the GOP’s vice presidential nominee on Mitt Romney’s presidential ticket and as a congressional candidate for reelection.

Upon making the announcement in April, Ryan, in his role as speaker of the House, will immediately become a lame duck speaker with his power significantly diminished — the reason why Ryan is waiting as long as politically feasible.

Regardless of whether you are a Ryan supporter or not, a decision to step down will unleash an unpredictable public relations scenario. There will be wild speculation and lower morale among Republicans adding credence to what virtually every GOP strategist expects will be a massive “blue wave” resulting in Democrats winning control of the House. (And many GOP strategists also believe that Democrats will immediately begin impeachment proceedings against President Trump.)

Therefore, it makes sense that after 20 years in office, Ryan sees 2018 as the year to vacate, especially after the victorious 2017 passage of tax reform — one of Ryan’s long-time legislative dreams.

Moreover, Ryan, under 50 and in the prime of life, will have endless career opportunities and job offers, with philanthropy supposedly near the top of the list.

In mid-December, headlines exploded after a report that Ryan would not run for reelection. Then in January, more headlines predicted the same. Conversely, in late January, Ryan told Fox News that he would run in 2018 but ruled out a future presidential bid. Since then, all has been quiet on the Ryan reelection front.

Meanwhile, Ryan has not officially filed, has made no active reelection campaign rumblings and, coupled with the GOP’s disastrous Pennsylvania special election results as evidence that Republicans will likely lose control of the House, why the heck would Ryan stick around to hand the House gavel to Nancy Pelosi? Practically speaking, what more does Speaker Ryan have to prove after serving 20 years in the House given his other signature issue, entitlement reform, is going nowhere fast?

Back in Ryan’s congressional district, two GOP candidates, Paul Nehlen and Nick Polce have filed to run in the August 14 primary. Nehlen is problematic for Wisconsin Republicans after his suspension from Twitter last month due to a series of posts criticized for being racist or anti-Semitic.

Polce is a former Army Green Beret and appears to be more mainstream. According to his campaign website, “After serving in the military, Nick began his life in the private sector as an entrepreneur, real estate investor, and part owner at a risk mitigation firm.”

The leading Democrat candidate is an ironworker and union organizer named Randy “Ironstache” Bryce who famously attended January’s State of the Union address to “stare down” Paul Ryan and “hold Ryan accountable.”

One GOP strategist familiar with the congressional district’s machinations said, “I suspect Ryan will pick his choice. But that does not mean his pick will win.”

There is a consensus that the district will be “tougher to win” for the GOP if Ryan does not run for reelection. In fact, last week, Larry Sabato's “Crystal Ball” changed Wisconsin’s 1st congressional district from “safe Republican” to “likely Republican,” obviously not an encouraging trend.

The bottom line is Speaker Ryan has no reason to stay in the House, especially if Republicans find themselves in the minority. And now, after Tuesday’s special election in Pennsylvania proved that even GOP seats in “safe districts” are vulnerable, Ryan told his colleagues that the Pennsylvania race was a "wake-up-call."

Thus, “after Easter” expect Ryan to hear his own “wake-up call” with an alarm that says, “Time to start your second career.”

Hillary Clinton's visit to India suffered another setback this week as the former secretary of state fractured her wrist after slipping in the bathtub at the five-star resort where she was staying, according to a report by DNA India.

Hillary Clinton fractures wrist after slipping in India resort bathtub, report says 3:15.2018
http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2018/03/15/hillary-clinton-fractures-wrist-after-slipping-in-india-resort-bathtub-report-says.html

The website reported that Clinton was taken to a hospital in the city of Jodphur at around 5 a.m. local time Wednesday. Clinton underwent an X-ray and a CT scan that confirmed a hairline fracture of her right wrist.

The Times of India reported that Clinton had been given a plaster bandage and advised to go for another checkup in three days. The injury does not impact Clinton's ability to travel.

The Times of India and DNA India both reported that Clinton had been treated for pain in her right hand since she arrived in Jodphur Tuesday afternoon. The pain forced her to cancel a planned visit to the 15th-century Mehrangarh Fort Tuesday evening.

Earlier in the week, video showed Clinton slipping on stairs twice as she visited the Jahaz Mahal in the ancient city of Mandu. Clinton appeared to use her right had to catch herself on the stairs, but it was not immediately clear whether this fall was the source of her injury.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rbp3yne4h_4 (0:31 min.)

At the time of her injury, Clinton was staying at the Umaid Bhawan Palace, which houses the onetime ruling family of Jodphur and also functions as a hotel -- offering rooms from $700 per night.

Clinton attracted controversy earlier in her visit to India. At a conference in Mumbai over the weekend, she again suggested that racism and misogyny were explanations for her loss in the 2016 presidential election.

Are you kidding me? McCabe should be bloody grateful the DOJ is corrupt enough they didn't charge him for treason.

Seems this is the next best, or possibly only punishment that could be imposed. McCabe will land on his feet though. The Deep State looks after its own so long as they are useful. There's a cushy private job waiting for him somewhere.

Trump's lawyer calls for Russia probe to be shut down (Video FBI's Andrew McCabe fired for misconduct after IG report / 4:43)
Mar 17, 2018 Foxnews

President Trump’s personal attorney John Dowd called on Saturday for FBI Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia probe to be shut down, hours after ex-FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe was fired.

“I pray that Acting Attorney General Rosenstein will follow the brilliant and courageous example of the FBI Office of Professional Responsibility and Attorney General Jeff Sessions and bring an end to alleged Russia Collusion investigation manufactured by McCabe’s boss James Comey based upon a fraudulent and corrupt Dossier,” he said in a statement to Fox News.

“Just end it on the merits in light of recent revelations,” he added.

Rosenstein is overseeing the probe after Attorney General Jeff Sessions recused himself from any investigation related to Russia and the Trump campaign. Dowd said he made the remarks in his personal capacity and not on behalf of the president.

His remarks came hours after the Justice Department fired former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe after an IG reports found that he made an unauthorized leak to the media and then "lacked candor" when speaking about it it investigators.

Trump called the move a "great day for the hard working men and women of the FBI" in a tweet early Saturday.

Former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe's statement on his firing (Video / 2:30) :bye:
_https://edition.cnn.com/2018/03/16/politics/mccabe-fired-statement-fbi-deputy-director/index.html
Updated 0440 GMT (1240 HKT) March 17, 2018

Statement by Andrew McCabe:
I have been an FBI Special Agent for over 21 years. I spent half of that time investigating Russian Organized Crime as a street agent and Supervisor in New York City. I have spent the second half of my career focusing on national security issues and protecting this country from terrorism. I served in some of the most challenging, demanding investigative and leadership roles in the FBI. And I was privileged to serve as Deputy Director during a particularly tough time.

For the last year and a half, my family and I have been the targets of an unrelenting assault on our reputation and my service to this country. Articles too numerous to count have leveled every sort of false, defamatory and degrading allegation against us. The President's tweets have amplified and exacerbated it all. He called for my firing. He called for me to be stripped of my pension after more than 20 years of service. And all along we have said nothing, never wanting to distract from the mission of the FBI by addressing the lies told and repeated about us.

No more.

The investigation by the Justice Department's Office of Inspector General (OIG) has to be understood in the context of the attacks on my credibility. The investigation flows from my attempt to explain the FBI's involvement and my supervision of investigations involving Hillary Clinton. I was being portrayed in the media over and over as a political partisan, accused of closing down investigations under political pressure. The FBI was portrayed as caving under that pressure, and making decisions for political rather than law enforcement purposes. Nothing was further from the truth. In fact, this entire investigation stems from my efforts, fully authorized under FBI rules, to set the record straight on behalf of the Bureau, and to make clear that we were continuing an investigation that people in DOJ opposed.

The OIG investigation has focused on information I chose to share with a reporter through my public affairs officer and a legal counselor. As Deputy Director, I was one of only a few people who had the authority to do that. It was not a secret, it took place over several days, and others, including the Director, were aware of the interaction with the reporter. It was the type of exchange with the media that the Deputy Director oversees several times per week. In fact, it was the same type of work that I continued to do under Director Wray, at his request. The investigation subsequently focused on who I talked to, when I talked to them, and so forth. During these inquiries, I answered questions truthfully and as accurately as I could amidst the chaos that surrounded me. And when I thought my answers were misunderstood, I contacted investigators to correct them.

But looking at that in isolation completely misses the big picture. The big picture is a tale of what can happen when law enforcement is politicized, public servants are attacked, and people who are supposed to cherish and protect our institutions become instruments for damaging those institutions and people

Here is the reality: I am being singled out and treated this way because of the role I played, the actions I took, and the events I witnessed in the aftermath of the firing of James Comey. The release of this report was accelerated only after my testimony to the House Intelligence Committee revealed that I would corroborate former Director Comey's accounts of his discussions with the President. The OIG's focus on me and this report became a part of an unprecedented effort by the Administration, driven by the President himself, to remove me from my position, destroy my reputation, and possibly strip me of a pension that I worked 21 years to earn. The accelerated release of the report, and the punitive actions taken in response, make sense only when viewed through this lens. Thursday's comments from the White House are just the latest example of this.

This attack on my credibility is one part of a larger effort not just to slander me personally, but to taint the FBI, law enforcement, and intelligence professionals more generally. It is part of this Administration's ongoing war on the FBI and the efforts of the Special Counsel investigation, which continue to this day. Their persistence in this campaign only highlights the importance of the Special Counsel's work.

I have always prided myself on serving my country with distinction and integrity, and I always encouraged those around me to do the same. Just ask them. To have my career end in this way, and to be accused of lacking candor when at worst I was distracted in the midst of chaotic events, is incredibly disappointing and unfair. But it will not erase the important work I was privileged to be a part of, the results of which will in the end be revealed for the country to see.
I have unfailing faith in the men and women of the FBI and I am confident that their efforts to seek justice will not be deterred.

Update: Trump lawyer Sekulow confirms that Mr. Digenova is to join Trump's legal team.

As we detailed earlier, in the latest sign that the conclusion of Special Counsel Robert Mueller's probe is still a ways off, the New York Times reported Monday that the president has decided to hire another lawyer to his legal team.

Trump is reportedly bringing on Joseph diGenova, a longtime Washington lawyer who has pushed the theory that the FBI and Justice Department framed Trump in their push to remove him from office.

DiGenova isn't expected to take a lead role, but he is expected to be a "more aggressive player on the president's legal team", joining in the middle of negotiations with the special counsel over the parameters of a possible interview with the president.

However, there is a caveat:
"The hire has not been announced, and Mr. Trump frequently changes his mind and sometimes adjusts his plans based on media coverage. it was not clear whether Mr. Trump planned to hire other lawyers."

DiGenova has said during television appearances that a secretive group of FBI agents pulled strings to launch the Russia investigation as a way to stop Trump from becoming president.

"There was a brazen plot to illegally exonerate Hillary Clinton and, if she didn't win the election, to then frame Donald Trump with a falsely created crime," he said on Fox News in January. He added,

"Make no mistake about it: A group of FBI and DOJ people were trying to frame Donald Trump of a falsely created crime."

I think POTUS is coming out of all this looking pretty good. Here's a couple of recent videos which uphold this view, and go into more detail about what is driving him.

You don't need to watch the whole video, the second half of each contains a spiel for selling Zublick's reports; but the first half is VERY interesting.
It looks like Trump is going after the paedophiles and luciferians, in a big way, with about 4,000 sealed indictments so far, and he is using the Marines to do the dirty work, deploying Gitmo to house them all.
Some big big names in there, and the swamp is being drained.

Miami Air International flight was chartered from Langley AFB to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, flight records indicate Monday March 19, 2018
https://www.intellihub.com/miami-air-international-flight-chartered-from-langley-afb-to-guantanamo-bay-cuba-flight-records-indicate/

The question is: who was on the flight?

Miami International Air flight LL162 flew to Langley Air Force Base (LFI) during the wee hours on Sunday where, presumably, a prisoner under official military control was boarded onto the aircraft which was later bound for Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

The Boeing 737-8Q8 was wheels up from Langley (LFI) by 6 a.m. and remained aloft for two hours and thirty-seven minutes before landing at its destination, the most notorious prison facility in the world, GTMO. (FlightRadar24.com screen shots)

The question is: who was onboard the flight? One could only wish that it was Hillary Clinton.
