Good! I look forward to seeing what you come up with. :)

Some advice that may be helpful would be not to stick with Western music. There's a lot more than pianos and violins. I like to listen to other culture's music like Chinese, Indian, and Middle Eastern. It opens up even more options. Good luck!

How about this - every now and again, find and post a video that is not something you would usually view but that you like in terms of music and/or message in the video (it doesn't have to include words)? Maybe something not recent? Really think about why you're posting the video and why you like it before you do it. Try to find people who look like everyday people (or as close as you can get it). Not overly made up and or exuding sex. Once in a while, post a classical piece that you like and explain why you like it. But you genuinely have to like it. Perhaps this way, you will begin to get used to listening to different types of music and come to appreciate it more fully. What do you think?

This song is for you.

(I reviewed some of the music you posted on here and picked a song I thought you might like from a singer/songwriter I consider to be a good educator.)

I've been hearing lots of oriental tunes! I love them, they make me smiley! :)

I looked at these yesterday and see that there is an attempt by those in the videos to put forth a positive message. I'm not too crazy about the second guy as he comes off as being someone who is trying to appear deep yet seems to be more interested in appearing cool. The first guy seemed a bit more down to earth to me. Both guys are trying to get a message across but I think I would have appreciated it better if they spoke more about their feelings and allowed themselves to be vulnerable. However, it's a good start, I think.

In giving this some thought yesterday, I was wondering if you and others (particularly in your age group) aren't seeking examples of how others deal with adversity and gravitate towards the mainstream media to provide someone to emulate - to give an example of how to navigate life situations. Perhaps because you (in general) weren't given the tools to do so yourselves via parenting?

So I think you're on the right track but go a bit deeper with the next one.

Keep in mind that at the root (of the videos), these are issues concerning self worth (narcissistic wounding) and bullying (ponerization of society) - see how those issues filter down to everyday existence? These are issues that pertain to all of us and that many of us here on the forum have experienced (bullying). Not to negate your experiences at all, but being gay or a minority or whatever is essentially a distraction used to make people feel as if they are separate/different from each other and as if their issues are unique to everyone elses - they are not. It also fosters an us versus them mentality. When we decide to stop running from our pain and really face ourselves, we can start to see that we aren't so different from others. This allows us to feel compassion for others experiences and relate to them even though we may not have gone through exactly the same thing. :)

Added: Just wanted to say that there's nothing wrong with you looking for examples within the gay community but wanted to give food for thought to help you to relate such experiences to the world at large.

Oh, and also wanted to say that what impressed me about the second guy was how he handled that bullying situation with the kid - pretty cool. :)

Hi truth seeker, I have to say I firmly agree with what you say.

This time I think I got a little bit deeper and this video is the second guy from the previous, talking about his experience with Men/Women washrooms. It goes deeper than the title.

And also, wanted to share a video made by a Kylie fan, it shows a more down to earth view of her, that's the part I like the most about her.

I also wanted to share with you guys some info about my Pop music habits and stuff. I've finished reading "Caricature of Love", and I have to say I'm impressed, the gay part is really informative and has opened my eyes about the reality of the comunity this days. It's really sick to say the least...
As far as making the connection with the Pop world and the over use of sex, it doesn't take much to see that this industry brainwashes everyone that dares to see and live surrounded by their creations, me being one of them. Comming out of that pop loop is harder that one would imagine, but I think I'm doing OK, I listen to Kylie, Britney, Gaga and Rihanna, just when I'm exercising, following the C's advice. And let me just add that I'm conscious that listening to this kind of music is not the best for me, I'm totally aware of that.

Also I just got "In search of the Miraculous" I'm sure that book is gonna blow mi mind!! And I'm up for it!! :)

Oh! Also wanted to share that I'm taking singing lessons, and It' been amazing!! It helps me fight depression and just fills me with joy! I recommend singing to anyone that is feeling depressed, just DO IT it has a magical effect on the soul.

EDIT: Just realised that the link are live, I thought that by putting them in that option for links would disable them...I guess not, what is the procedure to post them disabled?? Sorry for doing this again!!
