Best of Luck, Angela. I hope it goes smoothly! :flowers:

I'll second that. Smooth surgery and quick recovery to you. :)
Ditto, and your mental approach, is brilliant.

FWIW-Ask your surgical doctor (if before you are put under), to request a an application of saline, (as you have had to probably fast, avoiding foods, and liquids for the last 12 hours as preoperative caution). This will help with feelings of dehydration when you awake from the surgery, preventing cotton mouth, thus lessening the after effects, and trauma of the being put under with the anesthesia.

Thanks everyone! I am getting ready to head out now. I am glad to be going to getting this done, hopefully I am closer to being back to having a normalish life. I really love hiking, and I haven't been able to the last couple of months because of having this tube in my back. I usually climb Mt St. Helens every June, but I have since canceled my trip this year. There is always next year. I also can't wait until I have nothing to add to this thread!!

Hope you all have a great day, I will update later. It is supposed to just be an outpatient procedure, but he said there is a chance I will need to stay one night in the hospital.

It is kind of funny thinking about it now, but we are having plumbing problems in the house we live in!! Maybe it is symbolic of the plumbing problems I am having :D

Hmmm..maybe we can flush out that theory when you've recovered, if you want to plunge into that stream of thought? No reason to waste the opportunity to swirl the concept around in our minds a bit? Who knows, someone might pipe in and bowl us over with a fitting analogy?

Of course we don't want to be a drain on forum resources, but it is an interesting topic, and might be a good release valve once the title of this thread is obsolete? No pressure of course ;D

:hug2: :hug2: :hug2: :hug2:

Thank you for that Guardian, you made me laugh!! Everything went well with the surgery. I am on the road to recovery, and hopefully I won't need to update this thread anymore!! :) So glad I have this forum for support, you guys are like family.

Angela

p.s. Yesterday the landlord had the septic tank pumped, so our plumbing problems are fixed in the house as well!! :D

Great news, on both counts Angela.

What a great way to exit this thread:

To tweak Guardian's metaphor a bit: It seems that you've ended the thread triumphantly with a royal flush, the best hand ever, and will soon be ready to pick up your cards again and play.
