Hi, Angela. You have been given excellent advise already and I'd suggest you do the detoxing of mind, body, and soul as put together here with EE being central and plenty of pipe breathing during the day. As mentioned by Vulcan59 and others, I also wanted to say that you should be certain that it is cancer first as it could be a benign growth/cyst as well. I recently put together an alternative cancer treatment links for a friend whose father had prostate cancer a year or two ago and had his prostate removed. Then he had tests which showed a relapse with probably the cancer having spread to his pelvic bone. I gathered these links by searching in the forum here and then going to the sites and adding other links from those sites. These are only about half the links I could have given my friend but his English is quite limited and I didn't want to overwhelm him. But his father did the oral baking soda (not baking powder) treatment (sodium bicarbonate mixed 1 to 1 with something sweet like maple syrup or black strap molasses - e.g. 1 spoon baking soda to 1 spoon molasses - to make it go directly into the cancer cells / fungus and kill them as both pull all sugars into themselves like a vacuum cleaner because the sodium bicarbonate increases the pH making it alkaline and is also a powerful anti-fungal and detox agent) and eating 10 to 15 apricot pit kernels a day for a few weeks and his next tests came back negative for cancer -- totally clean. I recommended that he do multiple simple, safe, and inexpensive treatments at the same time including the oral baking soda dosages and eating the 10 to 15 apricot seeds but also colloidal silver which I offered to give him and few others. They just did those two treatments until a couple of days before his next tests and the tests came back clean.

Cancer need not be the lethal threat it is made out to be. My thoughts and prayers will be with you.

Hi Angela, I’ve recently been taking two medications (finasteride and cardura) for an enlarged prostate but don’t have the insurance to cover the tests (which are expensive) to see if its cancerous or benign. So what I do is some serious diet maintenance by sticking with the elimination diet that was posted by Psyche on this thread. What I have been taking along with other supplements (which are mentioned in the diet thread), and along with a good water filter, is magnesium, vitamin/mineral supplements, alpha lipoic acid, N-Acetyl-L-Cysteine(NAC), flax oil and especially Ellagic acid which is a very strong natural antioxidant that prevents the growth of cancer cells.
Wishing you the very best Angela and you are in my thoughts and prayers and please remember that proper diet is so very important!
Hi, kenlee. You can also use the most simple, inexpensive, non-toxic treatments I wrote about above to prevent cancer as well as treat it if you had it. For instance, eating 5 to 7 apricot pit kernels a day is recommended to prevent cancer. Also enlarged prostate can be completely cured by a combination of dietary changes and specific supplements including:
->zinc orotate (100 to 200 mg daily for 5 or 6 days per week and 50 mg copper orotate on 1 day per week) or zinc picolinate (50 mg daily for 6 days per week and copper orotate on 1 day per week)
->50 to 100 mg of vitamin B6 daily
->essential fatty acid supplementation -- take 1 tablespoon linseed (aka flax) oil twice daily and/or 500 mg capsules of Evening Primrose Oil, fish oil, take 200 to 400 iu vitamin E with the EFA supplements
->amino acids -- Glycine, alanine, and glutamic acid -- take 200 mg of each daily together, also GABA (Gama Aminobutyric acid) is good for prostate problems (recommended doses of 20mg to 40mg dissolved under the tongue) and it would probably be a good idea to take a complete blend amino acid supplementation.
->pollen extract -- six tablets daily
->sereno repens (aka saw palmetto aka sabal serrulata -- palm tree berries) 20 drops of fluid extract taken 3 times daily
->genuine Panax ginseng 20 to 40 drops or more of fluid extract taken 3 times daily and Siberian eleutherococcus (can be in capsule form and taken at maximum dosage indicated on bottle) -- these plant substances are known as adaptogens that increase the general capacity of the body to overcome external stresses through adaptation, slowing the ageing process and protecting against radiation damage, as well as enhancing the body's ability to utilize oxygen
->raw glandular extracts -- prostate and orchic, 2 tablets after each meal for 6 weeks, every three months.
The diet includes avoiding sugar, dairy, wheat, all processed and refined foods, alcohol and coffee, and eating a high protein diet that is predominantly
high quality proteins such as organ meats (e.g. liver, kidneys, spleen, glands etc.) and includes fish (especially cold water fish) and poultry (avoid the skin) and game (such as rabbit, hare, dear, etc.) and eggs, and lots of nuts and seeds (especially sunflower and pumpkin for their high zinc content) for minerals and fatty acids etc. and lots of vegetables including fresh salads incorporating as wide a variety of different vegetables as possible including green leafy vegetables such as collard greens, kale, lettuce, parsley, cilantro etc. and root vegetables (grated finely), etc. There's also detox with limited or complete fasts etc.
Of course, don't include anything from the above that you can't tolerate, eat organic for all of the above and make sure to eat grass fed animals and avoid grain fed.
Right when we were getting close to the time of leaving the US and coming to Armenia in summer 2006, my father had a serious case of prostate trouble -- it was so enlarged that he could not urinate without a catheter (he'd had enlarged prostate/prostate problems before including another episode of needing a catheter in 1993 when I was on vacation with my girlfriend, brother, and a friend in Cancun so my mother had to deal with that situation alone). So during the last two or three weeks of winding everything up and making the move to Armenia, we had to bring him to the emergency room to get the catheter put in, I read about and bought all the supplements etc., changed his diet completely from everything that was contraindicated (which was pretty much his habitual diet) to what was recommended, and was sleeping about two hours a night because he was getting a fever from the catheter and I was having him zap with an automatic on-off model zapper (but after the 7 min. on, 21 min. off for three 7 minute sessions it automatically turns off so I was turning it back on after another break while he was sleeping to keep his fever down). He was given some prostate drug (I don't remember which one, I think it might have been cardura) and had a really bad reaction to it and we stopped it after a couple of doses. I read on the internet that many people had the same reactions. A prostate surgeon said he needed laser surgery etc. Well after following the diet and supplementation (except the raw glandular extracts) program -- which was recommended to be followed for a minimum of 6 months before expecting significant improvement -- for a few weeks (about 3 to 4) he began urinating without a catheter (as we had the catheter which stays in removed in the days just before leaving the US and had ones that you insert to empty the bladder and remove and dispose) shortly after we arrived in Armenia.
Also if you've had problems with prostatitis (inflamed or infected prostate) for which an enlarged prostate is a precursor, and recurring urinary infections etc. then you need to add high dose vitamin C to the above. This situation includes high fever (102 F, 38.9 C or higher), flu-like aches, together with shivering, aching back and between the legs, with discomfort felt when sitting, strong discomfort or even pain during urination. The urine of a healthy person should be acidic. If it is
excessively acid, then the vitamin C taken should be in the form of sodium ascorbate (or other mineral ascorbate not ascorbic acid). If the urine tests alkaline, which is abnormal, then the vitamin C should be in the form of ascorbic acid. So you would need to get litmus paper / pH tape or strips to check the pH of the urine and take the proper form of vitamin C.
You start with 3 grams of vitamin C a day in divided doses and increase the dose by 1 gram a day until you reach "saturation" of the tissue is reached. When the sufficient amount is reached the body will tell you by the beginnings of diarrhea. When bowel tolerance has been reached, the diarrhea will stop by dropping back to the dosage of the previous day before it started.
So, in addition to your diet and supplements you mentioned, which are all good for general health, you might want to look into adding from these suggestions what you are currently not ingesting. The whole diet and supplement program is good for health in general and for prostate health in particular. Good luck and I wish you good health.
