IĀ“m not very verse in taking notes so IĀ“m sorry for not being able to catch the conversation. šŸ˜…
Below are few things from the meeting.

WeĀ“ve covered Mind Matters show "Living the Good Life - The Stoic Way".

Turgon mentioned
  • The Ten Commandments of Character from the book Character Disturbance by Dr. George K Simon:
ā€¢ You are not the center of the universe.
ā€¢ Remember, you are NOT ENTITLED to anything.
ā€¢ You are neither an insignificant speck nor are you so precious or essential to the universe that it simply cannot do without you.
ā€¢ To know, pursue, speak, and display the truth to the best of your ability, have the utmost reverence for the truth.
ā€¢ Be the master of your appetites and dislikes.
ā€¢ Be the master of your impulses.
ā€¢ Perseverance, patience, and endurance are not really virtues in themselves.
ā€¢ Neither your tendency to anger nor your instinct to aggress is inherently evil, although wrath is a ā€œdeadly sin.ā€
ā€¢ Treat others with civility and generosity.
ā€¢ To the best of your ability, have sincerity of heart and purpose.
(Simon, George K.. Character Disturbance: the phenomenon of our age (p. 140). Parkhurst Brothers, Inc.. Kindle Edition. )
...which are also expanded in the book:
Another book mentioned:

Apostles Paulā€™s list of things to avoid and things to enhance:
  • Vices to avoid: fornication, licentiousness, enmity, strife, jealousy, anger, selfishness, dissension, envy, drunkenness. Self-conceit, provoking one another, and envy.
  • Virtues to enhance: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control.
  • Itā€™s important to have in mind that ā€œWhatsoever a man sows, that will he also reapā€, and ā€œlet us not grow weary or lose heart." Most important to remember the "sowing" part in the context of your antennae and how your antennae determines your future. If you're not taking care of your inner landscape and the immediate world around you in terms of your group and your associations and so forth, you're screwing up your antenna and then you're going to have a bad future because your antenna will attract the wrong things.

Hi everyone,

Here are the links for the recent Aus-Asia-Am group discussion on Live Not by Lies: A Manual for Christian Dissidents by Rod Dreher.

Here's the video of the last meeting
The audio
And the folder
And the slide show

We will read Chapter 10 of Live Not by Lies: A Manual for Christian Dissidents for our next workshop on Saturday at 7 pm Sydney AEDST time (GMT+11).

See you all then!

Below are the links to what we discussed:

Australia to have its very own CDC from Jan 2026
Man in the UK arrested for waving UK flag at Palestine protest
Boeing has dismantled their DEI department
Article on RT (Germany) titled Informal fascism, speaking of the creeping soft totalitarianism happening there.

As discussed at our last meetup, we will start Pierre's work on Mass extinctions, Evolutionary Leaps and the Virus-Information Connection in the new year and then read the Secret History series. In the meantime for the few weeks before we stop for the holiday season, we thought of reading Laura's articles or series on cassiopaea.org. Below are some suggestions:
Michael Topper on Stalking
Supernovae: Vehicle of Ascension?
I also like the idea of discussing the ideas presented by Laura in the Phosphorous and The Frequency of Light thread.
Edit: added - we could also read some of Harrisonā€™s Substack articles as another suggestion.

There is such a large body of work there, so much to choose from! Any other article suggestions are welcome & we can chat about it at our next meeting.

Great notes! I'm looking forward to this next book. Especially with what's happening in the world, it's timely to come back to the Stoic principles and what Harrison had said in the Podcast, a lived philosophy that isn't something 'over there' or strictly an intellectual exercise, but an approach to life and way of navigating the world that can help everyone here (and beyond) move through the chaos on a global and personal level.

Here is the Video and Audio for the latest meetup.
