- I'll try to explain how looked reasons for mass action against the Ukrainian power from within Ukraine.
1. On April 21, 2010 Yanukovych and Putin signed the Kharkov agreements. Rent of the Russian naval base in Sevastopol was extended by 25 years – though the Ukrainian Constitution prohibits keeping foreign bases on its territory. "100-dollar discount on gas" for Ukraine in exchange for extending the lease was a fiction - Ukraine continued to receive gas for the average European prices (adjusted for cost of gas transfer to Europe)
The agreement led to mass protests in Kiev in April 2010 (from 7 to 30 thousand participants, according to various sources).
In March 2014 the base in Sevastopol will be the main support point for the capture of the Crimea by Russian troops.
2. In 2011-2013 Yanukovych and Co. created a total system of robbing the country. I cannot find other synonyms of that system. It covered all of the administrative structures, tax and customs, the police and the courts.
3. According to Forbes Ukraine:
In 2011, the central and local governments, budgetary organizations and state-owned companies in Ukraine have signed contracts for the purchase of goods and services for 483 billion hryvnia. And in 2012 - already for 622 billion hryvnia (through tenders and without them), according to the State Statistics Committee. But of the "contracted" amount of the past year the Treasury paid only 263.1 billion hryvnia, that is only 42%.

4. RosPress: “The eldest son of the President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych Alexander is the absolute leader in winning tenders for public procurement ($ 1.2 billion on government contracts).
