I finally ordered and received my copy from Amazon 3 days ago - it was so rad!
Until the next day when it literally disappeared from my house ... I know it's here somewhere, I just would normally say "I can't believe this, so typical" and get irritated, etc. But I see how that is a manipulation so I just accept that it is here somewhere, and I either misplaced it on the night I got it (when I started reading it) so I'll find it soon, or the maid misplaced it cleaning my little place here (normally Wed, came on Thurs this week) - tho' she swears blind she has no idea - and I truly think she doesn't.
So, sorry for the long story, but this little paragraph above is what has always happened to me if I am not vigilant. The only solution I can see is to buy another book!
PS It will turn up eventually, always does, but in the meantime I have to accept that I won't be reading it now...

OK, an update. So weird, it has completely disappeared :( My mom has contacted my grandmother who is doing a horary for me - apparently i must look higher (was looking near the floor or thereabouts thinking it had fallen - no dice). She is not finished, but she asked if I was not in my right state of mind (correct, I was drinking that night and got home really tired) and also if it was last seen in a place where i worked, and if that is near a TV (both correct, and the only thing my gran knew was the question my mom asked)
So - if I cannot find it in the next week or so - I will just buy another copy. But I am now interested to see what my gran has to say when she and her friend finish the horary and if it can help me find it or not.
For interests sake, my final post will be if I found it or if I bought a new copy :P

Timing does seem to be appropriate - thanks Arwenn!
My mom found the book for me yesterday afternoon - she got a call from my gran and was given some instructions like "look near where is water (sink/kettle) and air (windows) ; somewhere where Natasja (my gf) works / is busy at" - ie the kitchen (:P I can't cook) and in that area in a cupboard with my board games in it - was the book!! How it got there, I have NO idea since it is the literal opposite side of the house. I do suspect that the maid was cleaning and kindly decided to put the book in , for her, what must have been the most obvious place. I just can't believe that I never thought to look in that one place.
So , busy reading it now - just wanted to post quickly my final update.
PS: I KNEW it would be somewhere obvious! I KNEW it! :P
