I haven't watched it all yet, but here's a compilation of videos from all stages of the Shanghai lockdown so far. It's over an hour long:
I finished watching today, and I recommend it:

It's utterly insane. Because of hospital lockdowns and mass testing (not to mention stay-at-home orders), people with other conditions cannot get into the hospital for treatment of severe or chronic illnesses. People trying to reach authorities on the phone trying to get help are given the run-around in a bureaucratic nightmare. Hospitals are running understaffed, windows are boarded up, and as one nurse complains to the bosses, they were under the impression that without proper ventilation, their chances of infection are much higher. All support staff tested positive, so the toilets are getting clogged.

We know lockdowns do not work, yet the health authorities have doubled and tripled down on them. All the public health recommendations that lead to even more transmission are being implemented: crowded quarantine facilities, confinement to living quarters, no going outside, etc. There's a recorded phone call from a blogger/journalist to a health professional who tells him they have no serious cases, that in her opinion omicron isn't even as bad as the flu, and that it's best to simply self-quarantine at home. That clip is followed by a CDC memo telling health professionals to adhere to the party line on COVID and not share their own "personal opinions." This is followed by an official statement that there is 1 serious case in all of Shanghai, the vast majority of cases being asymptomatic.

I'm somewhat shocked at Matt Ehret's and others' take that this lockdown must be analyzed in a "completely different light" because Chinese leaders are preparing for an imminent bio-attack (how would he even know this?). Even if they suspected one was coming, what makes them think these useless and destructive policies would work? They're just pissing off their own population and killing people in the process. And if this is all a cover for something else, they are lying to everyone and not doing anything to get people on their side. There is a lot of resentment growing.

My relative in Shanghai has been locked down for over two weeks
More from another acquaintance in the city, as he grasps it. I haven't looked yet at published sources to see how this differs from official story. There are three levels/stages/degrees of lockdown. (1) Day 1 to Day 7 no one can leave their apartment. (2) If all good, no positive cases, Day 8 to Day 14, you can walk the grounds of building complex (there are almost no houses in Shanghai), but cannot exit the gate (all building complexes have gate security guards who are street-level authorities/aparatchiks. (3) If still no positives, residential building complex people can go out on the street but cannot enter another quarantined area. Testing continues throughout. If a positive is found in an entire complex, which can be usually 10 to 80 buildings, everyone there has to return to Level 1. This is incredibly stressful, seeing light at the end of the tunnel only to be sent back to Day 1 again. All this is governed/enforced by "neighborhood committees" who distribute the orders and status and call on backup authorities if needed. Building complexes have Homeowners Associations and Property Managers for the buildings, and they have Neighborhood Committees to manage the people.

The stated goal is not absolute zero cases, the slogan is dongtai qing ling, which is like a newspeak term, meaning "dynamic clear" or "dynamic zero." Not something most people would understand readily (probably by design). If I understand correctly, once a building complex that is under lockdown reaches zero cases, it's considered "clear," and they count it as out of quarantine -- as opposed to static clear, which would mean forever zero cases. But of course, there are probably >10,000 residential building complexes, and the larger yours is, the weaker your chances of reaching dynamic clear. If you look at published maps of complexes from the committees, which people are posting, you see red marks on each building with a positive case. The last one I saw, a large complex of 80 buildings, had >70 of the buildings showing positive cases among at least one resident. So, it seems like a deep, deep hole to escape from.

In Ottawa, during the trucker occupation and protest, the draconian response of government was alternately praised and condemned by other Canadians. So it is in this case for Shanghai by people in other parts of the country. Some say overkill, some say this is the way to deal with it. Naturally, this likely depends on how programmed someone is, or perhaps how courageous they are vs. how fearful. It's an also an attitude that could change if and when it happens to someone's own city.

I've also heard directly that some building complexes have Neighborhood Committees who are less "on the ball" than others, and residents may wander around their grounds even during Stage 1 (Day 1 to Day 7) simply because they say they haven't received the written orders or seen them posted, thus able to claim ignorance. Others are not so lucky.

Residential tensions seem to be mounting fast, of course.

Another question is, if this is deliberate misinformation, what's the purpose of it?

Disinformation campaings and cointelpro have been a part of the Covid counterculture from day one. One thing that does stick out though is how clumsy the whole thing seems. Similar to the Shanghai lockdown too. A part of me wonders if this is symptomatic of the 4D STS sources becoming much more constrained for resources to deploy effective manipulations in certain contexts. Some here may find it hard to believe they're using the "China's taking it seriously so so should we" card again almost 2.5 years later. Nothing can convince me this is connected to the effects of the virus at all, unless there's some unforecasted strain making people harder to control emerging again.

There's a lot of "change management" going on in the world right now, and I think as realities split more odd "chess moves" may come up.

Evil is now so institutionalized in the Western world that it seems our fate is hopeless. People are blind to what is being done to them, and their blindness makes them impotent. Many even rush to the defense of those who are destroying them.
It is one of those sad situations where the majority of humanity cannot stretch their minds to encompass the truth because they simply cannot believe that those in authority would do such things. We have all been taught since childhood to respect authority and believe that they wish only good for us all and to reach the point where they realise all this is lies would leave their poor minds in tatters. It is a leap too far and they retreat. It frustrates the hell out of me but I can understand their situation. To go against a lifetime of conditioning is not easy and if this is added to the evil programming it is incredibly difficult to make that leap.

What I find incredible, as a half Chinese person who has worked in China before, is how quickly things have devolved in China in the last 10 years or so. I remember a point a decade ago, when I enrolled in Chinese studies, where everybody, including the professors, thought that China was heading in a very interesting direction, one that would make it an interesting mix of Western and Eastern elements and a place that had learned from its Maoist mistakes. Watching the events unfold now, it seems they were mistaken.
While I am sure that I am not the only one that hopes that China could emerge as a superpower that provides an alternative to the crazy Washington led world nightmare we are in, it seems increasingly certain that the Chinese government is creating an alternative nightmarish mix of late stage capitalism combined with the worst from the Maoist dystopia, empowered by what we will be the largest supercomputers in the world running the latest AI tech for ultimate surveillance and control. Combine this with expert use of mass brainwashing, state-run media and a disturbing total lack of religious notions (out of all countries I've been to, China is by far the most materialistic and most systematic at eradicating all spiritual ideals and practices), and I have to agree with Tucker Carlson that this might just be what Hell looks and sounds like.
These videos and reports are so painful to watch that I wonder why, as outlined in the Secret History of the World books, seemingly far less organized levels of psychopathy and general suppression had been enough to trigger cometary bombardments(like Justinian's world), and there doesn't seem to be happening anything to stop the current authorities since centuries. I mean, if there had ever been a point in history where there was a universal loss of the mandate of heaven (and this certainly applies to the CCP), it is now. After the mass suffering that was the so-called cultural revolution in China, you'd think that there was heavy karma on them, but they're just increasing it ten-fold, through increasingly sophisticated means. With seemingly nothing stopping either the West or China, it would be quite difficult to convince any of the crying people in Shanghai, for example, that there is any justice in this world. Unless we work with the notion that everybody who's in the mess already has accumulated so much bad karma over thousands of years to somehow deserve this. But that is just an assumption, and popularly used in India, for example, to excuse the mass suffering of all too many people. It certainly can't be proven.

MANDATES ARE COMING BACK

JUST IN - Biden's COVID-19 vaccine mandate begins January 4, with hefty fines for noncompliance.

Large employers with 100+ workers must mandate vaccinations and/or weekly testing and masks for those who refuse the vaccine.

OSHA plans to send out agents to check that workplaces are in compliance with the rule. For willful violations, a company can be fined up to $136,532. The standard penalty is $13,653 for a single violation.

OSHA's 490 pages rule:

To follow up the Dr Bryan Ardis thread, I picked up at message via Lawyer Dr Reiner Füllmich (Corona Investigative Committee in Berlin), on his Telegram account - referring to a 18 minute response video with Dr Bryan Ardis

Dr. Brian Ardis:
"It's not about the water"

"That wasn't not my story. My story has never been to creating fear, panic and anxiety about water. [...]
The actual story is:
" There is a Covid-19/Snake Venom connection.

Dr Reiner Füllmich says, that the Corona Investigative Committee will take a closer look at this topic soon !

All this policy of Zero covid in China seems to me to hide something else. Part of me wonders if this is not a pretext to accompany the destruction of the US economy, however it seems to me to be really extreme measures to sacrifice one's own people and also one's own economy. The second point is to ask myself if this is not a life-size simulation scenario of a mega killer virus or as part of a fight against ethnic biological weapons (with what we have now on that via the war in Ukraine even if these weapons were aimed at the Russians, why the Chinese too?)

In my head, there is information we don't have that really has nothing to do with covid. If a killer virus and a food shortage already on the way combine, then maybe China is already anticipating the future? Is this simulation that creates damage at all levels intended to provide valuable data to be more effective when the real threat of pathogen combined with famine will be there and to protect or save its population? FWIW

I don't see how these "measures" prepare for anything like a killer virus or starvation, it's just an exercise in raw power against the population. Vey often the result is in the method. It's like another level of psychosis on top of what we've seen so far with this covid business. Even if it was an exercise for something or another, they would have chosen a less known city or region in the middle of nowhere, not Shanghai.
