WORLDWIDE EARTHQUAKE REPORT APRIL 03_2024
Very High levels of seismic activity occurred in the past 24 hours. A powerful magnitude 7.4 earthquake occurred in the Philippine Sea near the coast of Taiwan in the morning of Wednesday, Apr 3, 2024 at 7.58 am local time. The quake might have been felt by over 35.2 million people across 4 countries: Taiwan (23.9 million), China (11.2 million) and Japan (51,300), Approximately 210,000 people near epicenter might have felt a severe shaking. USGS issued a Yellow (moderate) alert for shaking-related fatalities and economic losses.
At least nine people were killed and more than 1,000 others were injured on Wednesday in the
most powerful earthquake to strike Taiwan in 25 years, the Taiwanese government said.
