There may be an uptick in quake activity due to a current geomagnetic storm - 40 quakes in 24 hours so far, the storm began first thing the day of the 25th UTC; overall there hasn't been anything too unusual, osit. Apparently the impact was 'more effective than expected' which would correspond to the idea that Earth is more sensitive to these due to it's weakening shield.

The arrival of the solar wind stream was predicted, but the intensity of the resulting storm is greater than forecast. Tonight, Northern Lights around the Arctic Circle should be bright, and the glow could descend to northern-tier US states as well. Visit Spaceweather.com for more information.

Surprising G3 (Kp=7) storm. The coronal hole was more effective than expected producing fluctuating strong magnetic field and high speed.
also to note the moon phase:1 Day, Magnitude 2.5+ Worldwide
39 of 39 earthquakes in map area.

The Moon today is in a Waning Crescent phase
In this phase the Moon’s illumination is growing smaller each day until the New Moon. During this phase the Moon is getting closer to the Sun as viewed from Earth and the night side of the Moon is facing the Earth with only a small edge of the Moon being illuminated.
