October 28, 2019 - An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.6 hit central Mindanao in the southern Philippines on Tuesday, shaking buildings and causing residents to rush from schools and offices.

Another week has gone and the pattern is the same, though there is a slight drop. 2161 quakes out of 2531 worldwide, which is 85.4%.
It is now a week since last update and the pattern persist, with a stubborn consistency. This time 85.2% of all earthquakes in the last 7 days happened in the map area covering America which in numbers was 1890 out of a total of 2219. Of the earthquakes greater or equal to 4.5, only 2 out of 87 worldwide fell in the area. In other words, there are a lot of small earthquakes in the area and though then release tension it is very little compared to the big ones. A simplistic way of putting it without taking duration, depth etc. into effect is to say that an earthquake of magnitude 6.0 releases the same energy as 1000 quakes of magnitude 3.0 or 10000 quakes of 2.0.
