France - Charlie Hebdo Attack

What I gather from the latest news, is that we are at "war" now, which gives all the necessary conditions & reasons for a stronger police state.
The fear trigger is switched on and on so people will beg for an armed solution and an overt control of the population.
The right wings extremists are drumming up the anger against Islam in a told you so manner.
All of Europe is descending into madness pretty fast.

You have summed the situation up very well Tigersoap in fact you have said exactly what many of us are thinking. The reality of where this could lead.....or IS leading is just to difficult for many to face or even see. I keep looking for signs to the contrary but Im struggling.....and trying to stay awake.

Last weekend we had lunch with Jewish friends. Their stance was made to us but we had to bite our tongues and practice stategic enclosure. Our views would not have been welcomed but we had to listen to how 'wonderful' Israel is by them. Their wish is to leave the UK to live in Israel.

Since then I felt that, soon, they will no longer be friends although I have no idea of how this is going to playout. I hope I am wrong....just a feeling.

I get the impression that Bibi used the Unity Rally like a big PR stunt, giving appearance, that everyone backs him and the State of Israel?

You're not wrong. This is him in the Paris Synagogue as the whole place was screaming the French national anthem! Check out that look on his face and the "nationalistic fervor" of the guy to his right.

Just read this article on SOTT. Looks like there's ANOTHER hostage situation in France!?

A hostage taking is under way in a post office in Colombes, a suburb of northwest Paris.

According to police, an armed man is currently detaining two hostages, but they insisted there was no link to terrorism.

The man is known by the authorities, and had contacted the police himself, they said. Police are in communication with the man, trying to talk him into giving up the hostages.

According to local Socialist MP Alexis Bachelay, the man was carrying out an "armed robbery".

The man, known to police for previous criminal offences, phoned emergency services claiming he was "heavily armed with grenades and a kalachnikov", AFP reported.

Newspapers Le Figaro and Le Monde reported that the man was equipped with a military weapon.

"He phoned number 17 [the French emergency number] saying rambling things," a source said, adding that no shots had been fired.

The man is reportedly "mentally unstable and acted after failed relationship," according to France Info.

Witnesses said he entered the post office at 12.30pm local time and some customers were able to escape. He is now inside with two hostages.

The area around the post office has been sealed and access to Colombes via the A86 has been blocked by police.

A helicopter was seen flying overhead.

The incident is taking place at the Aragon post office on the avenue du Général De Gaulle in Colombes, in the Hauts-de-Seine department northwest of Paris.

Maybe we should start getting used to this type of thing, I think they will persist until all "protective measures" are put in place... :/

The new, “survivors” issue of the satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo has triggered outrage from Muslim communities all over the world, with worshipers staging protests all week. More are set to take place after traditional Friday prayers.

Pakistani police fired tear gas and used water cannons on protesters in Karachi, with AFP photo journalist injured in the protests.

Earlier on, dozens of Pakistani lawmakers marched near the country’s parliament in Islamabad, calling for "death to blasphemers."

"All political parties are with us… All Muslim countries should condemn these blasphemous cartoons," Pakistani Religious Affairs Minister Sardar Yousaf said, NBC reported.

The Muslim brotherhood in Jordan is preparing to rally in Amman, with spokesman Murad Adaileh saying the group strongly condemned both the killings and the “offensive” against the prophet, AP reported.

Egypt’s top religious institution, the Al Azhar mosque, has expressed its outrage at the magazine’s new cartoon, describing it as a “blatant challenge to the feelings of Muslims who had sympathized with this newspaper,” AP reported.

Despite that, the deputy to the mosque’s grand sheikh, Abbas Shumann, urged the Muslims to ignore the cover, and show tolerance, because anger “will not solve the problem but will instead add to the tension and the offense to Islam.”

Muslims in Aleppo on Thursday marched through the southwestern Syrian city, burning a “Je suis Charlie” poster.

"Mohammed is our leader for ever. We will sacrifice ourselves for you, God's prophet," protesters chanted.

"We are on the street today to support our prophet and to protest against the offensive drawings that Western governments are spreading, while hurting Muslims' feelings all over the world," demonstrator Abu Mudar told AFP.

"These drawings increase enmity, hatred and feelings of hostility among Muslims toward these governments and these countries," he said.

In Lebanon, the Shiite Muslim militant group Hezbollah said the depiction was “a provocation to the feelings of more than 1.5 billion Muslims in the world, and directly contributes to supporting terrorism, fanaticism and extremists.”

Protesters in the Philippines marched in the southern town of Marawi, burning images of the magazine’s new cover.

Organizers stated that “freedom of expression does not extend to insulting the noble and the greatest prophet of Allah,” The Guardian reported.

Turkey was among the few Muslim-majority nations where some media outlets published Charlie Hebdo images, while omitting caricatures that might offend the Muslim population.

However, Turks are split over the publication, with a group of pro-Islamist students organizing a rally outside Cumhuriyet’s office in Ankara, the state-run Anadolu Agency reported.

Security was stepped up outside the newspaper’s headquarters and printing center.

Across Europe, Muslims also protested against the cartoon: for instance, a group of leading UK imams called on worshipers to show their “justified displeasure at the mockery that is made of our faith,” but in a peaceful manner.

The social climate is becoming really unhealthy in France following the Charlie Hebdo affair. :(

For me, the attack and hostage-taking were not excessively upset me. But all this outpouring of support for this pseudo newspaper (that no one had read before) and especially the rallies have very destabilized me. I felt completely drained energy that Sunday ...

Are you felt it same thing ?

The thoughts of all these people who claim to defend freedom of expression, but finally breathe hatred against Muslims spread a huge negative energy. (This certainly serves STS 4D). Dissidents are necessarily included in the victims of all this hatred. I also noted the tension between them. Divide for best conquer...

Hi Trytofly,

I think that if you feel drained you should read articles about this subject, to have a more realistic view of this situation. There are many articles written by members of the Sott.net team and others that give in fact energy. Because when we understand what is happening we felt stronger. I recommend you all the articles by the members of this team, by Laura and a magnificent article also by Arthur Silber that is very clear about the Charlie march and what it all means. And it means a lot!

Here's an Interesting opinion piece from a Kenyan Journalist:

Clearly there are still some solid thinkers out there who can see the hypocrisy of the PTB.

There was also the abduction of two italian girls who went to Syria to join the rebels :head bash: to upping the tension on the easily moved italian's emotional centers... Yesterday they've been sent back home (hmm....) really suspect.

Hi Intothefield,

in effect... the day Greta Ramelli e Vanessa Marzullo were freed, it looked like a propaganda campaign. First they were there helping the "resistance against Assad the oppressor", and this alone says a lot, by joining the Free Syrian Army via Facebook and Syrians living in Italy.

Two girls in their early twenties are very useful idiots for propaganda.

The two were also phone-tapped by the Italian ROS, and it turned out, allegedly, that one of them knew Yahya Alhomse, an Al-Qaeda member with Bin Laden pics posing as the Great Martyr in his Facebook photo-album. Links with the same Al-Nusra that kidnapped them all around. And so, government tapped it all and government condoned it all, during and after the release.
Practically they did extraordinary manoeuvrings to hide what the real deal with Syria is all about at any costs, up to the point that I would speculate wildly that it was part of a test run, in order for Italy to show its loyalty to PTB's prapaganda machine, and than, a few days after Chalie Hebdo the girls are released as a sign of courtesy...

Another oddity was that video released around New Years Eve. Many raised eyebrows, and many got really angry... the two girls were actually, almost, smiling?!?
Either they knew already that they will freed, or something else along that line. It just looked very fishy after all.

Well said Loreta!
I understand your feelings, Trytofly about the whole situation. I felt the same at the beginning, intense sadness about people being divided not just from being pro or against the charlie/terrorist/freespech etc.. but from the perception of a division between people who search for different points of view and people who swallow whatever they're fed with, without challenging anything. Never before I felt "the Zombie Apocalypse" so near..
IMHO Reading and get more infoes on this subject, I hope can help you, transforming your feeling from :( aka powerless and kick start a need for action and more knowledge gathering.

After all they got the chance to help the Syrian Army, if the italian government paid the rebels for the release, the two girls helped really a lot! Of course they also helped reminding people that there are evil boogieman out there.
Who knows if that was really the only way to make Italy to comply into sending more "help".

When I think about this issue the frase from Laura at the beginning of sotttalkradio comes to my mind, something like: "No matter how you think, what your passions are about,or what you like. they have a disinfo program tailored on you".
That because hostages from other countries get beheaded, while here they will go to TV shows making a lot of people mourning and sobbing. Then after we will see them as guests into disco parties ;D
Other oddity its the contact who helped them which is the same that helped Amedeo Ricucci, Elio Colavolpe and Andrea Vignali to go to Syria where they were kidnapped on 2013. I'm not saying he's a bad/dormant cell/italoislamicterorristblabla but it looks odd..

Thanks for your responses !
The hysteria turns into financial support.
They increase the sense of Islamophobia in persistent with new publications of Charlie Hebdo, despite the protests against the newspaper in other countries.
People are fighting to buy the newspaper in France because of the great number of buyer. Amazing ! :( I myself received an e-mail to subscribe to the magazine. :ohboy:

Hi Trytofly, not precisely same, although similar, acknowledging that you/me live in a destabilized country, do not help much, I was seeing yesterday a TV show of the revolutions that France had in the past, it got my attention, one that was not perceived as revolution per se, because they choose to call it The 3 Glory Days of something like that, because french people had enough with revolutions, there were many in a "short" time.

As Loreta says, it helps to read articles about what is going on, here where I live, almost four months ago, 43 students disappear with the knowledge and participation of government, a known magazine Poceso that is known to be uncomfortable to the government all times of this country, which founder recently died, aged, thankfully!, released an special compendium about what happend with the Ayotzinapa students, I am reading it, later I may post something, I recently knew about how the goverment did some damage control, so that way international comunity would forget it sooner. The unease become palliate somehow.

Note: Is Proceso magazine, and Julio Scherer, the founder, died fortunately of 80+ age related sickness and not in/from other circumnstances. _http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Proceso_%28magazine%29

Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo tells CNN she intends to sue Fox News over the channel's coverage of supposed "no go" zones for non-Muslims.

The channel "insulted" her city, Hidalgo told CNN Chief International Correspondent Christiane Amanpour. "The image of Paris has been prejudiced, and the honor of Paris has been prejudiced."

Hidalgo's remarks came after a series of statements made on Fox that portrayed Muslims in a negative light and were widely challenged. Fox News anchors later issued several apologies for the statements.

Fox representatives did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

At least 9 stabbed on Tel Aviv bus, Palestinian attacker wounded

this is link to the news

_http://rt.com/news/224619-israel-stabbing-attack-bus/

and this is how psycho see that

Netanyahu blames PA incitement
In a statement released by his office, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu blames the Palestinian Authority for the stabbing attack.

“The attack in Tel Aviv is the direct result of the poisonous incitement spread by the Palestinian Authority toward the Jews and their state. The same terror tries to harm us in Paris, Brussels, and everywhere.”

“The ones who rushed to praise this attack are Hamas, Abu Mazen’s partners in the unity government,” he continued, referring to PA President Mahmoud Abbas. “This is the same Hamas that announced they would sue Israel in the International Criminal Court in The Hague.

“For the incitement, and for the dangerous move in the Hague court, Abu Mazen is responsible.”

and this one

Israelis don’t feel safe, says Herzog
Zionist Camp leader Isaac Herzog says “There is not a feeling of security today for Israeli citizens, not in Jerusalem, the Gaza region, or Tel Aviv.”

He also says the security forces will receive his full support from his party

quotes are from this link
_http://www.timesofisrael.com/several-stabbed-in-tel-aviv-attack/

How can they say something like this. How can they forget all the atrocities that they made.So for this incident they are blaming all Palestinians.
They are planing something evil. And the culprits will again be the Palestinians

I’m french, i have to point out here something completely crazy : Jeannette Bougrab, former member of the French government (under Sarkozy) has proposed to bury the CH victims in the pantheon (with people like Victor Hugo, Jean Moulin, Rousseau, Pierre and Marie Curie, André Malraux…) because they “died for France”. Unbelievable ! And why not to canonize them ?

(Sorry, video in French)

A Toulouse student has launched a petition on avaaz to make January 7th a national holiday.

(I am not promoting this petition. It is just to back up what I say).

I’ve seen no country presidents demonstrating together after the Atocha attack in 2004 (around 200 people killed) and the London subway attack in 2005 (56 people killed). Is the necessity to demonize muslims that much more urgent ?
