Free will vs "lessons"

In the context of this thread it may be important to remember that there are two paths for the
growth of spirit or soul if you will: the long one and the short one. Now the short one is accellerated growth
which means incarnation and the risk to get stuck due to accumulation of adverse karma.
The individual can repeat the "fall". Then of course it is difficult to untangle oneself and remember oneself.
This may take several lifetimes. Similar to the dynamics of addiction one has first of all to overcome
denial and accept the reality of the situation one finds oneself in. Naturally this can be extremely painfull.

In many cases one has to hit rock bottom to be able or to want to change. Something like the dark night of the soul.
Maybe it would be helpful to use choice instead of free will. In my experience you allways have choice;
to react or not in the simplest case.

These are just some of my thoughts. What I learned from Gurdjeff among many other things is to work with
what is at hand, here and now and not to anticipate. From applying knowledge i. e. by doing one gains experience
which leads to understanding.

Just me here. I do not think that "free will" is so simple. Especially when what one "chooses" to do may impact others. In choosing actions of perceived "free will" there is great responsibility and should not be taken lightly. Choice is not a choice when one does not understand what is being chosen. It has taken some "time" to be in the position you are currently in. It may take some "time" to resolve. And there is also beauty and joy. Perhaps beings with no physicality just may want to experience sensate of the flesh? Methinks we are here at least to experience and learn. For what exact reason we are here? Who does know.?.?.? We are what we are, we do what we do, and what is, IS... A main choice I "see" is how we choose to view ourselves, the world and people around us. The more knowledge gained, the more options available to truly "choose"...

Well you would think that as long as you did not violate someones elses free will then you can do whatever you want. Neither is the case. If it was wrong to violate someones free will then we would not be experiencing the overwhelming negative we do on this planet. Otherwise the Lizzies would have no hold on us. But they do because according to the Casiopaea's the can exercise their free will to dominate us as long as we are not aware. Still things are done against our will and so that is where Karma comes in and balances the disruption of free will. There is no free will for those asleep. Only those who are consciously living have it to a degree because they are aware and now can make better choices. The more aware you are the more free will you have at your disposal.

Reference the path or destiny, isn't something choosen while in 5th Density, contempling and choosing the next live ?

Then, you will have the main path choosen for your life, but there is also the multitude of choices that daily lives offer and where you need you Free Will. It seems to me there is room for both to coexist.
