as here in Croatia nationalism is very very bad, worst than 90's.
Many people on the forum live in the different continents, countries, this is not accurate information, this sentence generalize to all Croatian citizens.
THIS IS NOT TRUE INFORMATION. They can not cram all people in the same basket .
People can get the wrong impression that all citizens are nationalists, and this is simply not true!!!

Casper, yes I am not generalizing to all of Croatian
With this sentence, yes , you are!

.. but last couple of years, due to my work I got sourounded with so called Croatian intellectuals, and you won't believe it how they are filled with antagonism and hate. You can't realy see it at first, you just think they are taking care of Croatian tradition culture etc, but as you go deeper you see what is all about.
You speaks about them, not about all the Croats, and you can not all intellectuals lump together.
You're talking about a few people who are blinded by hatred.

For example you can take a look at some of the news magazine that you maybe don't follow like Dnevno, Narod, HOP etc ... most of the people around them are very much against any collaboration with regional exYU countries, they are quite irritated with what they call it "Yugoslavian" etc etc
It is a known thing, and newspapers are oriented right-wing, but it is freedom of speech and writing.
They so-called journalists they write anything, just to sell newspapers, that's all trade, it has in every city, country.

And I have kids in primary school, and when I here how kids are talking and thinking, it is obvious reflection what they get from home. And I couldn't believe that I will here it again in 21 century.
Maybe your children are educated in such a school, but again you are generalizing. Children in school are not all the same, not all of the same school. My child is studying in Rijeka, has students from all over former Yugoslavia, from one of Rade Šerbedžija teaches acting, for his lectures search was over. There was NEVER incident on a national basis in the University of Rijeka.
My friend who lived until recently in Serbia (Mladenovac) came to live in Crikvenica with his wife (who is also from Serbia) and five minor children.
Speak Serbian (Ekavian dialect), their children play together with other children, sometimes they do not understand, for the differences in dialect, comes to the ridiculous situation, never on a national basis.Yes, it is true that the education of children comes from the house, apparently, do not raise children all the same.

I also think that generalization is not good, but we also have to be aware of what HDZ is doing right now with all this veteran conflict.
Combat veterans (100% disabled) seeking rights that they have lost the past 3 years, the right to nurse, the right to not wait for the examinations in hospitals (PTSD) ... they did not protest on behalf of the HDZ and some other parties only they are looking for an open discussion with the Prime Minister, as the Minister Matic, after several attempts, did not get specific answers, help. I do not know how much you are familiar with the needs of disabled people and why they pray for help.
Just for the record, the disabled are not only the Croats !!!

Also do you remember all this battle around Cyrillic and Latin names in Vukovar on official tables?
This is just one example where the politicians attempted to enter the gap between people, people who live at subsistence level, on the edge of starvation. The whole region in Istra has bilingual signs on public administrations, schools, street names. Why there has never been a problem in terms of bilingualism? Politicians are deliberately, because the wounds difficult to heal, they select Vukovar.
Let's go back a bit in the past, I'm not 100% sure of the name of the city, Kragujevac or Kraljevo, Yugoslavia at the time, how long after the Second World War, no German citizen should not have come there for crimes committed by German soldiers of the local population?
Vukovar is a specific city, before the introduction of bilingual signs, they should ask citizens of Vukovar what they think about this, this is just been a night of intolerance, which is their main goal, because as Avala says:

Casper - if you ask yourself how I get that impression of rising nationalism and hate in Croatia, actually better to say that it is permanent state of many minds - here it is form today - article about Croatian movie that just won award at Cannes - this is our reality, indeed ... and just if we are aware of that we can do right steps to change it at least with our work and behavior.

Quote from the article:
"... The stink underground often effectively transferred the hate speech that is publicly mimic or indifferent tolerated. Therefore, over this dark gangbang, should once again remind you that big, important choice which way Croatia will move on. Through the chaos, hatred, nationalistic hysteria and državnoudarne noise, or through tolerance, love and respect for every human being just because it creates a selfless, loves and lives as the best of planners. "
Do I need to add anything to this?
Everything comes from the house training, awareness of the truth, in the end I'll quote again Avala:
