How is Laura?

Thanks, Chu.
All there is, is lessons... Also for Laura, OSIT.
I hope she will take her time recovering. And we as a network have to learn how to do things ourselves as well, grow into that role perhaps? As you said, networking, working on projects, sharing information are key and I have found I feel so much better and content when I am more involved. :)

So sorry to hear this has happened to you Laura. As someone who has suffered from serious lower spine issues all my adult life I completely appreciate the agony and disability such an accident produces.

I know you are getting all the love and care you need and plenty of good advice but two small thoughts to go into the mix - if you are lying down on your side for reading and sleeping (as this sounds as if it is your preferred means of so doing), I would strongly recommend placing a small cushion (nicely plumped but not too large in size) between your knees. This helps keep the pelvis open and helps keep pressure off the lower spine/hips. If you can, train yourself to sleep this way every night. It can take time getting used to but it has certainly saved my life and relieved an enormous amount of ongoing discomfort.

I would also recommend looking at the products supplied via The Back Shop (link below if mods ok). They produce a range of highly specialised supports for chairs, beds, etc with technology designed specifically for injuries like Laura has suffered. Healing is the first stage; but long term rehabilitation without side effects elsewhere is also key. I know from painful experience that the back/body think system has a remarkable way of maintaining function by effectively shifting the problem into other areas of the torso such as the neck and shoulders in an effort to spread the pain load. This needs to be mitigated by the correct support and rehab. But in the meantime my thoughts and prayers go out to you. Heal quickly queen bee!

Ouch! Ouch!...

Something like this has happened before... (maybe my mind playing tricks) perhaps some lesson is not being learned, some message other than the one, where the universe is saying, ‘pay attention.’
You might end up like the scientist who forgets his umbrella everywhere he goes, and you never can tell when at what moment it will start raining.

Anyway... Best wishes to you Laura, hope your feeling better... the world would be a little less interesting/thought provoking, without you in it... sts’ly/sto’ly so.

Had an idea to aid in Laura's rest and recovery period. Maybe the Chateau crew is already doing this.

What about taking turns reading aloud to Laura her current reading material of choice? Since she can only read standing up or lying sideways for short periods, maybe reading aloud to her could help? Also, reading aloud the most recent forum posts to her too? And she could dictate any response she may want to make to a forum post.

Just some thoughts I wanted to share.

My best wishes to you for a speedy recovery Laura. You are missed!

my best wishes Laura your in my thoughts get well soon

and thanks for all that you do look after yourself :cool2:

After two days of fully babying my backside I decided to try checking in. Can't do it for long so I'm going through emails and forum at light speed.

Thanks to all for well wishes, I AM going to get through this.

LOLOL -- Why am I not surprised? You're the Knight-of-Light Lady -- so Light Speed would be about the right speed for you! :)

I can just imagine you whirling dervishly through your emails and the forum before you head for bed and rest.

Take care dear Laura. If the combined best wishes and empathic love we all feel for you were capable of healing your injury, your body would have healed instantaneously. Could you try giving yourself some empathic love to our own body too? Who knows? She might respond with gratitude and pleasure -- the same way an injured child would who knows Mother cares for and comforts her when she hurts herself. :halo:

Cheers and Aloha Blessings!

Dear Laura, sending heartfelt signals to DCM for your recovery, the lessening of pain, and that all goes well during tomorrow's x-ray procedure. Please let us know how you make out and also whether extra donations are needed to help with treatment expenses. :hug2: :flowers:

You most certainly are sweetie. The universe is on your side, as are the thousands of people grateful for all of your tireless efforts on behalf of the human race. :cheer:

I wish that everything will be ok for your radiographies, today? Good luck! You are in our souls day and night.

You are in my thoughts, Laura. Good luck with your appointment today. In a way it will probably bring relief knowing exactly what damage there is and what course of action to take. I know you are strong and you have the support of many at the Chateau and here. We`re rooting for you! :flowers:
