It was love at first sight for both of us! Her current caretaker said "she's been waiting for you" and just gave her to me :shock:

She's a 4 year old red and white paint, about 16 hands and very broad (which is good 'cause so am I) I'M SO HAPPY I'M ABOUT TO POP!! :) :) :)

I didn't realize what a hole losing my horse had left in me until I met my new friend.

Now I gotta go put up a fence, and I'm going to build her stall right off my bedroom window so we can smell each other at night. :D

I'll take pictures as soon as I go pick her up...hopefully Tuesday evening. I have to put up the fence and stable for her first. I didn't have my camera with me, mainly 'cause I went to work in the garden... not get a horse :)

She originally belonged to a young woman who hand raised her from a filly. The young woman tragically passed away not long ago, an a Elder in their community who already had horses took the young mare...who's been very depressed and hasn't wanted anything to do with anyone. Evidently something about my smell, looks, whatever, made the mare perk up and she came right over to me for cuddles and brushing. I just mentioned that I missed my horse and wanted to get another, and he said "She's been waiting for you" and "You can have her if you have a place to keep her" :jawdrop:

I've been given some wonderful gifts in my life...but this just floored me. I spent most of the day with her...didn't get anything I planned done, and don't care. We just went walking ...no riding yet, neither of us are ready...but that will come. I brushed her and cleaned her hooves ...and she followed me around like a puppy.

Got to Lowes in time to get everything we need to put up the fence tomorrow, the stable should be up by Tuesday :D

That's so great Guardian. You just never know what surprises await you in life. Can't wait for the pictures.
