Ice Age Preparation ?

Then as I kept reading descriptions of what people ACTUALLY experienced in those days, the only honest conclusion that I could come to is that I would have been as likely to be a prison guard, as I would be part if the underground resistance. That's what the stats show. At the time the Soviet Union fell apart, something like 1 in 3 people were government informants. The lesson from history is that people under extreme physical and mental duress act in ways they might otherwise not act. You never know where you stand until you're tested by actually going through that type of situation.

Anyway, to me, it's important to be clear eyed about that reality. It looks and feels like the final exam is coming.

Good insights! We can prepare for the worst case scenario especially mentally now, where things are relatively stable and easy, so that we are less likely to engage and fuel the beast and instead strive for higher values, if something bad should happen. The funny thing is, as long as we can't really viscerally see and feel how we do and can contribute to evil daily, there is no way that we can face it when it really knocks at the door. And the only way to "know ourselves" is to engage in life in every second as truthfully as possible and face the many unpleasant parts of ourselves via engagement with others and then act differently. Facing "petty tyrants" and remaining as external considerate as possible is one of the ways that strengthens us in that regard.

As the saying goes, sort of:

You don't get enlightened by ignoring evil within you, and imagining you are "good", but by recognizing deeply of what you are capable of, your thinking errors if you will, which is a very hard realization, and then work against it by toughening yourself, so that when the day comes, you are less likely to engage in evil.

If the day never comes, all the better!

I suspect that's probably got more to do with killing for food than killing in anger/fear. -Also recall that the C's once dissuaded against the idea of killing even a grey alien, -and those things don't even have their own souls.

I don't think so. The quote was in response to a question I asked about whether or not Caesar had killed anyone himself. The answer was "many". And then the comment came about the moral injunction against killing being a human invention. The intention or motivation, it seems, is all important.

Hi DBZ,

It looks you had a rough, stressful holidays and you may want take some vitmain C, Mg malate and Gaba + etc and take care of your self. Take a break and look back and see how this influences others.

World events are crazy and depressing for sure. The amount of control we have may be limited w.r.t immediate verifiable impact or not. Just like any thing in life, thing won't happen in the form we want, even if we are lucky to have that happen. Having said that, we are in the days of Information war, where there is a feeling of possibility of instant feedback and expectations of change. If we look at the events of last 4 years, many of once the taboo topics became mainstream (so called conspiracies, diet and health etc.) . So there is a some impact if not total and it may not be the way we want.

In the end, this planet is a sandbox for not just us alone and for 8 billion other people (leaving aside all other known or unknown , past/future, dimensions/densities) . We can try our best with good intentions, knowledge (self and world in general) and see how it is received. With cycles with in cycles up on us, all types of non-linear forces have their plans and they work through us, it is almost impossible to control it. One good thing is forces we came to know as good are optimistic. this may mean nothing to us for our immediate needs, but it is good to know in the long run.

May be we can learn from people who tried before like Cesar. May be Putin too. After 18 years, he still can't control every thing in his country, but he can send messages(or even legalize it) with a hope that he can influence the populace despite power given to him by people voluntarily.

DBZ, why don't you try dropping the politics for a while and focus on what genero81 said:

To be, or not to be. The Wave is pressuring us to move out from in between the two pathways to one side or the other. That's what I think is happening anyway. We can learn and choose to dedicate our decisions and actions to something higher than our own mortal self interests, or we can remain stuck in self centered fear. OSIT

I was trying to pick out a good point in the following discussion for you Divide by Zero, and really for all of us in this discussion, and found myself not able to do so since all of it is so crucially important. So I'll just post the whole thing here. I would highly recommend listening to this and pay special attention to what they are saying about playing the game to some extent and how the tendency to point with the finger at all and everything except yourself, appeals very strongly to the worst part in you and how nihilistic thinking as well as the victim narrative plays a big part in it, and really, shockingly, in most cases the true reason is a resentment and hatred against the successful in life.

It is one of the best discussion I have seen so far with Peterson. This is also the video in which he mentions the twitter comments and how easily people fold in the face of almost zero pressure nowadays. If you ever watch something from Peterson, then this is it:

This is a REALLY good one.

A lot of good replies to digest to help rearrange my thinking.

Divide by Zero said:
however he has fooled many (including some of sott.net)

I think you better justify that statement.

The problem I see at work and with friends/family (who are still in the belief of the 2 party system) is that this supposed fight against the deep state is part of this psy-op. For example, when I explain that the PTB sets economic policy via the privatized Federal Reserve- that had presidents of both parties change things for the worse- the "Trump vs Deep State" discredits the whole idea of a higher control system that's been running the show for quite a while. For a Trump supporter, they act like this higher control system is only there to put down Trump because everyone else was a part of it.

But we see that both sides, including Trump are still going on with the plan of destroying the working class while promoting a doublespeak economic system which I posted a great interview about here: The Vocabulary of Economic Deception

In fact, the demonization of the word "socialism" which is described in that interview clearly has seemed to ramp up recently from the battle between the extreme left and Trump sides, both of which seem to be polarizing people, making them not see that the system has been designed this way for a long time to socialize losses and privatize profits.

On Sott I rarely see criticism of the bad Trump policies and actions. The same things that Obama, Bush Jr, Clinton did were criticized, but seem to be glossed over nowadays because of the focus on the controversies.
The Russia "collusion" etc are such bad lies that should be challenged. But it's such a distraction from the things that are not being addressed.

I think there will be instances and challenges that maybe you will think different. Review the link below, if you like.
Plus have read the 12 Rules for Life?

The Russia "collusion" etc are such bad lies that should be challenged. But it's such a distraction from the things that are not being addressed.

Well that's where we differ, the Russian collusion business is one of if not THE most important aspects of the Trump presidency. It literally blew off the doors that have been hiding the 'deep state' for decades and exposed their true agenda, it baited them out into the open for all to see, and MANY did and do now see, far more than they could see previously.

Your tendency to nitpick seems to prevent you from seeing the bigger picture. No, Trump is not going to save anyone or anything, nothing is going to do that, so why don't you just give up on that idea? The thing is, you accuse us and others of thinking that Trump will save us all in one way or another, but WE do not believe that, instead, YOU do, or at least, YOU want something to come and save you from all this mess of a reality. It reminds me of that fable about the 2 monks and a woman.

A senior monk and a junior monk were traveling together. At one point, they came to a river with a strong current. As the monks were preparing to cross the river, they saw a very young and beautiful woman also attempting to cross. The young woman asked if they could help her cross to the other side.

The two monks glanced at one another because they had taken vows not to touch a woman.

Then, without a word, the older monk picked up the woman, carried her across the river, placed her gently on the other side, and carried on his
journey.

The younger monk couldn’t believe what had just happened. After rejoining his companion, he was speechless, and an hour passed without a word between them.

Two more hours passed, then three, finally the younger monk could contain himself any longer, and blurted out “As monks, we are not permitted a woman, how could you then carry that woman on your shoulders?”

The older monk looked at him and replied, “Brother, I set her down on the other side of the river, why are you still carrying her?”

You are that younger monk. Let the woman go.

I think the discussions on how we are dealing with the climate change have been good and should be continued if we can clear up some issues we all are having (especially the stress).

Here is a recent session where the "climate thing" was asked by Aragorn and leads to other general everyday situations that we face:

Session 7 June 2014
Q: (L) Alright. Next question? Was that clear? Do you want that expanded on, or do you need to ask supplementary questions?

(Aragorn) The climate thing... Should we expand on that? We could, I think. It's bothering us.

(Breton) I think what Aragorn is getting at is what I alluded to before: feeling a little bit exposed in this part of the world. But is it something that should be very high on everyone's agenda to be making plans to leaving this place, or...

A: {letters come very quickly} If everyone is paying close attention to reality, you will receive the warning in time. And if the preparations made by this group proceed apace with support, there will be a place to "land" and time to get there.

Q: (Breton) Yeah, okay.

(L) In other words, probably working on SOTT is your best bet. That's what keeps use cued in to what's going on. That's where we get our signals.

(Breton) Yeah.

(L) Paying attention to the whole global situation, the weather, the earth changes, and so on and so forth.

(Perceval) And if the preparations made by this group, here, proceed apace with support...

(L) Yes.

(Pierre) By working on SOTT, if you work on SOTT, we get more donations, we can fund preparation of the bases, we can build a landing area for you eventually when "BEEPS" hit the fan.

(L) And how long does it take to drive from there to here?

(Breton) Couple of days. It's about 3000 kilometers, and there's usually a ferry ride involved.

(L) So you need a couple of days warning?

(Breton) In theory, yeah.

(L) Well, I think we can manage that. I think we may even have a week to two weeks if things get weird. The thing is we know neither the day nor the hour. We suspect in a general range because there's all these different signs and so forth. But we have to concentrate on what we're doing right now, which is... Well, we've got various things going on. We've got this project going on in the US. I'm thinking that in the end, this EU house is just going to be the only EU house there is: this one we're in, and the one down the road that we're getting ready to sign the deal on. And that one – the farm - can house probably 25 or 30 people. I don't know that there's any more than that who are able, ready, or willing... Well, of course there are going to be a whole bunch of people who don't think anything's going on who are going be crying and saying, "Oh, I wish I'd thought about this beforehand!" But, you know, in general, I think 25 or 30 people on the EU side are what we're going to have. We've got a lot more on the US side. So I think we'll end up accommodating everybody here. At this point, I don't see that there's any real need for everybody to just jump up and move... There are several people who are in a position - Breton's one of them - to come and help. Preparation work. But there are other people who have jobs, families, different things going on that it would be better if they stay there for now. For example, Aragorn has a wife who doesn't think anything weird's going to happen. Well, at that certain moment, when she says, "Oh sh*t! You were right!" Then I think she'll be a lot more willing to get in the car.

(Aragorn) Yeah, sure.

(L) So, I mean if you stay and you help as much as you can in whatever ways you can to support the global effort, then you're doing the right thing where you are. And then just let us handle - and the people who are in a position to help now - let them handle the preparations. You know, we don't KNOW exactly what's going to happen. So we have to hedge our bets. You have to prepare for the worst, hope for the best, and take what comes. Continue to conduct your life doing every moment what is in front of you, what is important and right to do. And that doesn't mean running off and abandoning your families or any of that sort of thing. People are in different positions so they do different things. So... Next question?

(Aragorn) I would really like to ask my question. I am in a situation where I am wondering what line of work I should be pursuing in order to help the Fellowship and protect my family and increase my options. Would it be good to still pursue the university career, or something else?

A: What would you be doing if all things were equal and money was not an object?

Q: (Aragorn) I would be singing and teaching singing as a day job, I guess.

(L) In a university, or somewhere else?

(Aragorn) Um, not at the university, no. I am motivated, but...

A: How can you move into that reality from where you are?

Q: (L) What do you need?

(Aragorn) Geez... Um... I need to put out an effort to do it.

(Breton) You have to establish your own business, maybe?

(Aragorn) Yeah, but um... A relating question is: Why do I feel always enormous tiredness and lack of energy when I try to think of this kind of plan? It feels like there's some block...

A: Psychic draining from those close to you.

Q: (Aragorn) Is it possible to ask who these close ones are?

A: You know.

I am not sure why you got this impression. I did some searches on sott and didn't find any proof in this direction.

I felt, most of the time Trump bogged down by so called "scandals", politically incorrect twitter rants. He rarely had any serious economic reform to push through. Yes, Obamacare repeal failed, Tax reform has some good comments( As usual, some bad guys benefit too). Trump wall is basically populist rhetoric to appease insecure population.

His twitter rants which makes many go crazy are desperate attempt for help and tells that he is so helpless in controlling the inherited system. If we look at his life, he is just another bombastic selfish business guy who takes up high profile jobs, organizes his people( to the death) to finish it, takes out of proportion credit from it. Even that too lasted 2 decades max.

This leads to some phenomenon i observed at the work - His name itself subconsciously polarizes people. Not sure why?. JBP calls him 'anomaly'. Probably, People couldn't figure out his behavior how to categorize with traditional set of groupings and simply irritated with him? If one( I mean Trump here) is in opposition party( or outside the power), they can blame it on ruling party. But one is ruling the country and he can't control it , whom else he is going blame? Rather odd situation which are generally fought in behind the doors, but now it played in front of billions of people in open. At least he is still alive not yet impeached given that deep state so deep and fighting tooth and nail. If he is removed one way or other, it is another feather in Deep state's black cap.

I realize this is probably side tracking, but since you all mentioned Trump, I'll share what I see.
Trump had me nervous during his campaign. The Nationalist rhetoric was disconcerting, so I didn't vote.

Since then, after careful observation, I realized that Trump is just a real estate developer from New York that was elected to preside over the Federal Government (no, he's not my president; he's the Federal Government president, geez.)

There are some interesting things about this presidency. He IS exposing the rot at the heart of the system and that's why the swamp rats (both parties) have their panties in a bunch. He is the greatest Twitter troll ever. His tweets really expose the leftist mania that is the establishment and no; he's not necessarily here to fix things, though I do believe that he wants to. Why else would a gadzillionaire give up his cushy life to deal with this nonsense. Trump us the trump card. He is the grenade launched by the ELECTORAL COLLEGE at D.C. Prior to his election, many of us would say that we wished we could get a politician that is more like us so that things would change and the stranglehold of the -cons would be broken. As far as I can tell, Ttump is the closest thing we will ever get. He don't talk pretty like Obama, but when you consider what that puts did (I voted for that one), a golden tongue does not make a better president. Trump is nowhere near perfect, nor does he pretend to be (thank God.) Trump is EXACTLY what the world needed now. It was either him, or global socialism. No thank you. Those folks had the entire 20th century to show us how it's done. 100,000,000 (at least) souls lost, lives ruined, grinding poverty for all except the four leggeds who learned to walk on their hind quarters. It is not my intention to insult. It is in my blood to fight utopian ideologies. My ancestors were decimated by this ideology. My former homeland was wrecked by that ideology (Nazis were Socialists, too.)

Anyway, back to our regularly scheduled ice age ;-)

While walking my dog I had a think about what you said and I think I've gotten to the root of our disagreement. It's a problem of scale. While you're thinking on a family unit level,I was thinking about a small to medium sized community.Staying out of the way of trouble is perfectly reasonable when you're 1-3 people, but once you scale that up it becomes impractical.Trouble will find you. Should Syrians move because ISIS wants territory?I assume you've been keeping up with SOTT so I don't need to explain how depraved they are.As far as movie villains/savages/barbarians go they fit them to a ''T''.So should the entire country drop everything and run?Give up not only your homeland, but all technology, infrastructure, agriculture, commerce, distribution routes and history?Does that sound reasonable?

While staying out of the way benefits you,it benefits only you and if there's bandits roaming the area a far more practical solution (given you have the means to do so) is to kill the bandits.Else they'll continue to prey on others, even if you stay unharmed.

Ofcourse when you're just trying to survive you always have to weigh the odds.Do you have a doctor that can treat the injured?Do you have enough resources/skill/experience to fight them etc.But my point was that nature is at it's core savage. When human beings return to the ''default'' setting of trying to survive they also become savages.Pure avoidance means you're always leaving the problem to someone else and if you're trying to establish a permanent base of operations (be that a home, farm, hold or whatever) it becomes a matter of prudence to remove the threat rather than try to live around it.

Keep in mind a long-term strategy,a few injured now can prevent a local warlord later.

You've done a top notch job of constructing a narrative in your head where armed conflict with monster-humans becomes your reality. You may not create it; but you certainly walk toward it.

I notice even in my current town, there are over-lapping bubble realites which co-exist, but for the most part remain invisible to each other. There is a dark drug culture complete with bike gang members. There is a hippie farm market/arts bubble, and there is a wealthy land owner/business community bubble. They go about their days, interacting with the people in their days, and remain oblivious to all else for the most part. I have to make a point of de-focusing and noticing details in order to look in on each bubble.

This is linked to picking which people you spend your time with; you only have so much time and energy to spend; pick your friends wisely. "Do they blow on your fire, or piss on your fire?" Are they wise and powerful or are they ignorant and weak? You will resonate with that with which you associate.

There's no shame in picking a violent Walking Dead sidearm reality. There's plenty of direct and powerful lesson material to be absorbed through such a scenario. It's not a neighborhood I want to wander through, however.

From what I gather, people are able to pick their parents and vice/versa -and the environments they incarnate in. If spots are only open in rough neighborhoods, regions in conflict, then human savagery is likely going to be a feature.

When choice becomes forced, when all options lead to the same set of experiences, then we end up with a broken system which needs resetting.

I suspect that resonating with violence is a way of choosing where your wave function collapses. -As well.., at what point do YOU become indistinguishable from the armed monster that you now imagine and feel the need to be prepared for?
