The episode Soy & Corn is done.

Soy & Corn

[as always combining it with stock footage/sources etc.]

Soy has been among us since ancient times and considered unfit for human consumption

Just a note that this isn't actually true. Soy has been eaten for hundreds of years in the far east in its fermented forms of tempe and miso. Of course, that doesn't make it good food, but you don't want to start off your segment with something that is factually inaccurate.

Hmmm thanks Anart, I had it from Primal Body, Primal Mind page 49 ;

''Soy has been considered unfit for human consumption since ancient times, but chemical processing methods created by corporate interests have created an all ''new soy'', purported to be the cornerstone of health and longetivity''

Edit: I changed it to what you said ''Soy has been eaten for hundreds of years in the far east in its fermented forms of tempe and miso''.

Perhaps it would help the segment you're trying to write to go with something like, "soy has been eaten for hundreds of years in the far east in its fermented forms of tempe and miso, since these fermented forms are the only forms suitable for human consumption, though they are not ideal." Something like that. The point is that soy is only consumable if it is fermented (and then it's really only borderline consumable from what I understand). No idea why Gedgaudus left out the fermented forms, but they do exist.

Thanks Anart! I also checked ''detoxify or die'' to see if it's maybe mentioned. But not there either. Atleast I couldn't find it.

Edit: Ah I found it! It was written in the last part of the section, Gedgaudus did mention it. Page 53.

''Fermentation largely neutralizes trypsin inhibitors and phytic acid. Goitrogens or thyroid inhibitors, however, remain intact, even following fermentation, so care must be taken to not overconsume even these soy foods''

Shall we refine the first 5 episodes turgon? and then proceed , or do you think it's a better idea if we first create the first 5 videos in order to create that ''vibe'' for ourselves. But upload them privately and only start releasing the episodes once a week when the entire season is done.

Since you are the resident expert on video production/editing on this project, I could start refining the scripts like what I did with the intro and post them up together.

But I like the idea of getting to work on creating the first five videos before moving on. Those five are the big changes we all made anyways, so it makes sense to focus on those topics for now before getting into the shocking world where fatty foods are good for us! We can get feedback on the overall design and layout before proceeding further and capture that 'vibe' early on.

I have some 'newbie' questions though, regarding the database. Saving the articles on Word is easy enough, but I saw some very relevant clips in a few documentaries and clips on youtube. Should I provide a link with the specific times for those clips on youtube or is there another way of doing it?

Yeah that is important.

You can put the link in the word file, with the specific times you would like to see. I can then download all the stock footage that we need from youtube, convert them and use it in our videos. I will be starting to create some animated logo then for ''The Paleo Series''(btw do you like that name? If you don't we can use another title for the series) in the meantime. I will then upload it privately and post the link here.

[Will be creating 2 test versions of the introduction, one with speech / green screen and one with only text]
Are you thinking of a hosted program?

I'm liking the 10 episode, 5 minute a piece guideline and looking forward to help out with animations/ graphics.

With what software do you like to do animations/graphics with Parallel?

I for example prefer to work with after effects, sony vegas, and occasionally Cinema 4D.

I made an animated logo for the paleo series (name can always change).

Only people with the link can watch this, so it's not visible when searching for it on youtube.

Here is the link:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JHPeOojW83E&feature=youtu.be

What do you think about this style?

Some information:

Duration of the logo - 6 seconds.
The background for the logo I chose has to in some way represent the inner walls of the human body.
The growth of the flowers and the glowing colours representing the growth of health.
and I placed a tiny caveman underneath the logo.

Mainly 3ds max and After Effects.

On the logo; I think that using a fluorescent unfolding wheat like plant is kind of off, but I like the idea of showing growth. Colour wise perhaps a more natural pallete would convey the down to earth/ back to basics approach to paleo.

Maybe someone who doesn't have a dropbox account could make one for the group (I think it's 3 Gb free), where we could make topical folders for all subscribers to share and experiment from.

Awesome :D

Excellent, I can change the plant in a flower so that it doesn't get the shape of a wheat like plant and remove the fluorescent colours. Hmmm how about a greenish colour instead, representing ''nature''. I will make the changes and let you know when it's done.

This is an excellent idea! I think that we can also create shared folders within an existen dropbox account? Or create a new account with a new email (don't know if this is possible though)

Bo, that logo animation looked ridiculously cool! Is it also possible to illuminate the logo a bit slower, or extend the ending a bit more. I think that would add more of an effect to it because I got the impression it was a bit rushed.

I've got a dropbox account at the moment that I never use. We could use that one. It's the free account, so it's an automatic 2GB of free space and an additional 500MB for each referral (which I have not made). For $10/month it can be upgraded to 100GB worth of space.

BTW, about the name, I was thinking possibly 'The Paleo Diet Series: A Journey Beyond Gluten Free' or something like that.

:D Yuph I can do that. I will work on it tonight and tomorrow.

2gb is more then enough, since we can also use youtube for uploading videos for feedback. Could you invite me to the dropbox if I send you my email by PM?

and on the name; sounds good aswell :), I will make some versions of it and have it ready in the weekend.

There are two ways of doing this. 1) we can solely use my account. I can then PM you and parallel the username and password - so I don't invite you, you can just log on to my account any time you want and upload files there or 2) you and parallel both open up a dropbox account and we create a shared folder between us all.

Hmmm I think option 2 is better. If you create a new folder on your dropbox account and name it ''PaleoSeries'' and then share that folder with me and Parallel that would do it.

Allright I have made 2 versions.

Here are the private links:

Version 1 with new music : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yRT1K6BAd4U&feature=youtu.be

Version 2 with meditation like music: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NCdwEvCxRao

lol amazing how hard it is choose the right music.

What have I changed?

* I changed the illumunition that it grows and then turns to normal
* I changed the flower types
* I changed the text

So what do you think? :D

both ones are good in their ways so it is hard to say.

one suggestion for the first video:

I think the timing of the faster and more dramatic music kicking in at the beginning could be sligthly later.
in other words the soft music at the beginning ends to abrupt IMO.

The first one sounds sensational, and personally I'm not sure if it would be fitting for the topic. And the second one has something from church :).

And I like the presentation it has a touch of something is growing, don't know if this was intended but could be used to have a theme for the following videos, so that it has it's own style with different flow modes per videoseries in a sense (zooming in and out, growing up and down etc.).

I am completely biased but really enjoyed listening to the first, based on the fact that I love fantasy adventure movies. But I do agree with Gawan, not sure it fits with the topic at hand. Unless we start out the video with a scene of anti-bodies fending off a horde of gluten molecules in some epic battle deep within the intestinal lining.

Maybe working out the music could come last based on how the videos go? Big budget movies usually go the route of doing all the filming and editing first then adding music in based on what mood and feel they want to capture with the scenes.

Also, was wondering if: Paleo Diet Series/A Journey Beyond/Gluten Free, should be Paleo Diet Series/Going Beyond/Gluten Free. Watching the video I thought that might have a better ring to it, fwiw.

I think this is a good idea. Maybe it's best to finish atleast one video, and then start experimenting with the kind of background music.
