Is it too late to start a university degree? And is there any point?

Congratulations, and good job on persisting! Now you have to do your very best at the job, learn as much as you can, and try to discover how much it's "your thing", but also without anticipation or big expectations, since you were already ok with finding any job. So this one is a cool one, not just for money reasons. Win-win. And even if down the road you don't want to keep that job or whatever, you will have learned a lot, and that's ALWAYS useful.

The universe does work in mysterious ways. If you are in the right mindset AND you apply yourself to putting the energy required out there, it does respond.

Congratulations Keyhole. I had a similar experience with a job offer once I put out the signal and tried to stop anticipating. Thanks for sharing your experience - I'm glad it's worked out for you and good luck with the new job.

Congratulations Keyhole, this is great news. All the best with the next chapter. Its interesting isn't it how when you are fixated on something, nothing happens. But then when you just forget about it, 'pop' it appears like out of nowhere.

I think that job had your name attached to it! Congrats and well done. Carpentry should be fun, especially with a good teacher. Very useful for all eventualities. Oddly enough it is mainly carpentry work that I need in my apartment atm. Luckily there are plenty of skilled ones here.

I think working with wood, designing/carving is so natural and therapeutic too. I so love the simple and creative designs and the feel of natural, unadulterated wood!

Hi guys, just an update:

After Chu's advice I made a concerted effort to do the POTS every night, asking what my Aim was and for some guidance in between each verse. After the two week period I no longer routinely did POTS each night and have become a little lazy in that respect, however I have managed to do EE twice a week rather than just once or not at all.

Anyway, after what was said on this thread I started looking for jobs/pathways that could further my skills and enable me to learn carpentry. To cut a long story short, I learned that it was relatively difficult to find any local work in this field that could provide me with enough money to survive with having no previous experience. So I eventually just stopped looking for this type of job, decided that this would be too difficult and it would be easier just to give up and find one working with animals or support work. Decided that I no longer was going to worry about my occupation, and to make it my Aim to just work any job that provided me with enough money to survive and enough free time and energy to be able to do my research and network.

A few days after I stopped looking and had lost faith, a local assistant carpentry position came up and guess what... I got offered the job

Interesting how things work out when you least expect. I think that all of the excess energy I spent fixated on this subject and the anticipation was probably blocking the flow. Just thought I'd share this with you all

Great News, Keyhole!
Carpentry is a very noble profession.

Ditto!!! Well done. Good luck in your new job. There is nothing more satisfying than seeing a completed project and knowing that you helped to bring it to life. Super!
