Israel-Palestine War: Hamas Breaks Out of Gaza, Israel Responds With Genocide

Don't know who this guy is but apparently he's a US politician?

Not yet but he is well known in political circles, after browsing through the wiki about him. Here's a few snippets from the page:

Cornel Ronald West (born June 2, 1953) is an American philosopher, political activist, social critic, actor, and public intellectual.[12][13] The grandson of a Baptist minister, West's primary philosophy focuses on the roles of race, gender, and class struggle in American society. A socialist,[14][15] West draws intellectual contributions from multiple traditions, including Christianity, the black church, democratic socialism, left-wing populism, neopragmatism, and transcendentalism.[16][17][18][19] Among his most influential books are Race Matters (1993) and Democracy Matters (2004).

West has described himself as a "non-Marxist socialist" (partly because he does not view Marxism and Christianity as reconcilable)[91]...

In April 2002, West and Rabbi Michael Lerner engaged in an act of civil disobedience by sitting in the street in front of the U.S. State Department "in solidarity with suffering Palestinian and Israeli brothers and sisters". West said, "[w]e must keep in touch with the humanity of both sides".[98][99] In May 2007, West joined a demonstration against "injustices faced by the Palestinian people resulting from the Israeli occupation" and "to bring attention to this 40-year travesty of justice". In 2011, West called on the University of Arizona to divest from companies profiting from the Israeli occupation of the Palestinian territories.[100]

West is an outspoken supporter of Julian Assange, on one occasion saying: "[Assange] has been simply laying bare some of the crimes and lies of the American empire".[107]

West stated that he believed the Russian invasion of Ukraine was "a criminal invasion, provoked by the expansion of NATO, which is an instrument of U.S. global power" and described the war as a "proxy war between the American Empire and the Russian Federation".[108][109]

West criticized Obama when he won the Nobel Peace Prize in 2009, saying that it would be difficult for Obama to be "a war president with a peace prize". West further retracted his support for Obama in an April 2011 interview, stating that Obama is "a black mascot of Wall Street oligarchs and a black muppet of corporate plutocrats. And now he has become head of the American killing machine and is proud of it".[112][113][114] In November 2012, West said in an interview that he considered Obama a "Rockefeller Republican in blackface".[115]

On June 5, 2023, West announced he would run in the 2024 presidential election under the People's Party.[125] West's decision to run with the People's Party sparked criticism due to the party's lack of ballot access, claims of leadership dysfunction, and sexual harassment allegations against the party founder Nick Brana.[126] On June 14, West announced that he would instead seek the Green Party nomination, running a campaign centered around support for Medicare for All, public housing, action on climate change, and drastically cutting the U.S. military budget.[127][128]

On October 5, 2023 West announced that he was abandoning his candidacy for the Green nomination, and would instead continue his presidential bid as an independent candidate.[28][129]

Khamenei reportedly told Hamas chief Iran will not directly enter war

Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei reportedly told Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh earlier this month that, since Tehran was not given prior notice of the devastating terror onslaught of October 7, it would not join the war against Israel.

In a report Wednesday citing “three senior officials,” Reuters said Khamenei had told Haniyeh that, while Iran would offer political support to Hamas, it would not “intervene directly” in the fight.

The Iranian leader also reportedly asked Haniyeh to “silence those voices” in Hamas calling for Iran and its proxy terror group Hezbollah to directly join the war against Israel “in full force.”

The report said Hezbollah was also caught off guard by the massacre.

‘Wake-up call to Israel’: Rights groups welcome UN Security Council vote

Louis Charbonneau, the UN director at Human Rights Watch, said the fact that Washington “finally stopped paralyzing the Security Council on Israel and Palestine” demonstrates to Israel that “global concern, even among its allies, is strong”.

HRW’s Israel and Palestine director, Omar Shakir, added that the world “must act to prevent further mass atrocities” in Gaza.

Agnes Callamard, the secretary general of Amnesty International, also welcomed the vote.

“This is hopefully a turning point, the first steps towards alleviating the sufferings of the people of Gaza. Let Humanity prevail,” she wrote on X.
UN Security Council just adopted—12-0 w 3 abstentions—resolution focused on kids in Gaza. That the US finally stopped paralyzing UNSC should be a wake-up to Israel that global concern—even among its closest allies—is strong. World must act to prevent further mass atrocities. @hrw pic.twitter.com/s9U8xM2xEU

What does UN Security Council resolution say?

The resolution is the first passed by the 15-member council since the beginning of the conflict.
Here’s what it says:
  • The resolution focuses on the conflict’s “disproportionate” effects on children.
  • It calls for “urgent and extended humanitarian pauses and corridors” throughout Gaza for a length of time to allow “full, rapid, safe and unhindered humanitarian access” for both evacuations and aid.
  • It lists fuel as among the items that must be allowed to be delivered “unhindered”.
  • It calls for “the immediate and unconditional release of all hostages held by Hamas and other groups, especially children”.
  • It rejects forced displacement and demands that all parties comply with international law.
  • The resolution requires the UN chief to give a report on its implementation at the next meeting of the Security Council concerning the Middle East.

She no politician, Niall ;-) More like SJW of the right persuasion... Good try, but it does not count ;-)
Joe asked about political figures, not strictly politicians. So even semi-mainstream political commentators like Candace Owens would count. She is speaking up about Israel and as far as I can see, she's the only journalist that isn't part of the alt-media, like Blumenthal, Greenwald or Aaron Mate, that is speaking the truth. She gets credit for that.

When the knights of Malta command...It was the Security Council's fifth attempt to take action since October 7. More than 11,000 Palestinians have been killed in Israel's bombardment and the state of Israel is expected to take the suggested measures, but the way things are going it is possible that the Israelis will stick to their diatribe.

Senior Israeli official admits they KNEW there were NO hostages in al-Shifa.

He said the raid was merely a "symbol that there is no place we will not reach" (i.e. nothing is safe in Gaza).

No claim of a "Hamas command center".
15 hours of IDF search, still NO tunnels found!

IDF reveals: Hamas terrorist compound in hospital.

Earlier a senior Israeli official clarified that the entrance to Shifa "is first and foremost a symbol" that there is no place we cannot reach. He further stressed that they did not think that hostages would be found there, but that they would locate and dismantle Hamas capabilities: tunnels dug under the hospital.

But...but...The photos of the alleged tunnels are from 2011
