Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has stated that his country is prepared for a direct attack by Iran and that Tel Aviv will respond to Tehran's actions.
"Our defense systems are deployed, and we are prepared for any scenario, both in defense and attack. The State of Israel is strong, the Israel Defense Forces are strong, the people are strong," the Israeli prime minister assured, as quoted by The Times of Israel.
Netanyahu pointed out that his government has established "a clear principle". "Whoever hurts us, we will hurt him. We will defend ourselves against any threat and we will do so with calm and determination," he stressed.
Among other things, the leader thanked "the US for standing by Israel, as well as the support of the UK, France and many other countries."

Jordan has decided to temporarily close its airspace as of 23:00 (local time) this Saturday, reports Jordanian broadcaster Al-Mamlaka. It details that the decision has been taken "to preserve the safety and security of civil aviation in Jordanian airspace, and in light of the escalation of the surrounding risks in the region, and following a risk assessment in accordance with international standards."
