A bunch of slow-moving Iranian drones on a 10 hour trek (1600kms) from Iran to Israel is merely a domestically-necessary and predicted 'show of force' response to the embassy attack. It is one that both Iran and Israel are 'ok' with.

When Iran *actually* attacks Israel it won't be some long-haul drones, it won't be predicted in the way this episode has been anticipated for almost a week, and no one will be in any doubt about what it is.

Tbh I just read your post on twitter and it makes perfect sense. I got carried away with the bluster.
Why drones when you've got long range missiles!
Joe are you suggesting though that this attack has been agreed at the higher levels as acceptable?
They're certainly making a big deal out of it though.

Not so much agreed (although that's possible) but expected. And they love making big deals out of things like this. It's their bread and butter! Bibi has been hystericizing about Iranian nukes for at least 25 years!

Israel says Iran launched drone salvo at it, air defenses poised

JERUSALEM: Israel said on Saturday that a salvo of Iranian pilotless aircraft had been launched at it and that defense systems were poised to shoot them down or to sound sirens ordering residents in any threatened areas to take shelter.

The drones’ flight time would take several hours, chief military spokesperson Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari said in a televised briefing.

He confirmed media reports that “Wing of Zion,” Israel’s version of the US “Air Force One,” was airborne, saying this was due to operational considerations.
