Israel-Palestine War: Hamas Breaks Out of Gaza, Israel Responds With Genocide

China Has Up To 6 Warships In Mideast Waters As US Carrier Group Moves Closer To Israel

Israel's military has announced Saturday that it drastically stepped up airstrikes in preparation for its "next stage" of the operation against Gaza, in a statement many see as portending an imminent ground invasion.

"We need to enter under the best possible conditions and this is what we are doing now, as the next stage of war approaches," IDF spokesman Daniel Hagari explained after confirming, "from today, we are increasing the strikes and minimizing the danger."

"We will narrow the risks to our forces over the next stages. This is why we have once again urged residents of Gaza to keep moving south," he added, in words that Israeli media also took to mean a ground assault is about to happen.

US warships and at least one carrier are in the region (with a second carrier headed that way), as part of "support" operations - but the whole region is on edge given the possibility of a Middle East-wide bigger conflagration.

Worrisomely other major global powers are bolstering their presence, particularly ones which have of late issued severe criticisms of Israel's largescale aerial assault on Gaza (namely Russia and China), which has killed thousands of civilians - many women and children among them. Russia has been operating jet patrols over Syria, and importantly China now has additional warships in the Mideast region.

Hong Kong-based South China Morning Post has confirmed that up to six Chinese warships have been in Middle East waters over the last week.

"The 44th naval escort task force has been involved in routine operations in the area since May and last week spent several days on a visit to Oman, including a joint exercise with the country’s navy, according to the Chinese defense ministry website," the report says.

BREAKING: MORE U.S TROOPS TO BE DEPLOYED IN RESPONSE TO IRAN

US Secretary of Defense has announced an increase in the positioning of US forces in the Mediterranean region in response to recent escalations by Iran.

Austin also ordered the aircraft carrier USS Eisenhower to the Central Command area of operations, i.e. Getting Ready for Battle.

He further stated that he will continue to evaluate the positioning of US forces in the Middle East and consider deploying additional capabilities as necessary.

This decision follows detailed discussions with Biden and includes the transfer of the Eisenhower aircraft carrier and its battle group to the region, as well as the deployment of a THAAD missile interceptor battery and additional Patriot batteries.

Looks like the crew of the USS Gerald R. Ford (CVN-78) in the Eastern Mediterranean are about to get some bad news

Having been a submariner for many years, the Mediterranean is probably full of submarines. Very difficult for the crews keeping track of surface and submarine contacts. Not much sleep.

How many time left before Syria and/or Libanon enter this war?

Israeli army strikes Damascus, Aleppo airports

The Syrian transport ministry have switched regular flights from the abovementioned airports to the airport of the city of Latakia

BEIRUT, October 22. /TASS/. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have delivered strikes on runaways of the airports of Damascus and Aleppo with missiles and knocked them out of action, the Sana news agency reported citing the Syrian army.
"This morning at around 5:25 a.m. (coincides with Moscow time - TASS) the Israeli enemy simultaneously committed air aggression with missiles launched from the Mediterranean Sea to the west of Latakia and from the occupied Syrian Golan Heights as it delivered strikes on the international airport of Damascus and Aleppo. The physical damage of runaways of the two airports brought them out of operation," according to the military’s statement released by the agency.
The Syrian transport ministry have switched regular flights from the abovementioned airports to the airport of the city of Latakia, the agency said.
The Israel Defense Forces’ representatives have not yet commented on the information."

In a bathtub called the Eastern Mediterranean exposed multitudes of useful pawns await. Most unusual , but they do happen. I sincerely pray that they happen this time.

Yes, the present weather system (storm Babete) hitting Britain is causing widespread damage and flooding and lives are being lost. See:

Like you, I can't help feeling this is the bi-product of battles that may be going on at higher densities. Indeed, the article I am attaching may in some way reflect this - see: MSN

Weather experts can't figure out why UK is tornado hotspot thanks to 'whirlwind alleys'

UK tornados have started to baffle weather experts, as, while the phenomena remain rare on British shores, they appear to have started to adopt clear-cut local stomping grounds.

The weather systems are surging across a "tornado alley" in the UK as they become increasingly common, with up to 30 reported each year by forecasters like the Met Office.

Scientists studying their patterns have dubbed the UK an emerging "tornado hotspot" after one small but particularly vicious system tore apart a neighbourhood in Littlehampton, a small town in West Sussex.

Pictures of the town following its brush with the swirling mass of wind show knocked down walls, broken windows, and twisted trees, but with little damage and no deaths, observers dubbed it a "mini" tornado.

One scientist has admitted that meteorologists are unclear as to why these develop so frequently in the UK - as the country's conditions are not seen as conducive to the phenomena as elsewhere - and he has identified three key areas where tornados have become the most common.

According to Professor Schultz, the UK's tornado alley is actually three separate regions.

He wrote: "The UK's tornado alley is really three regions, most in southern England: an area south of a line between Reading and London with a maximum near Guildford, locations southwest of Ipswich and a line west and south of Birmingham."

Curiously, I live near Guildford so I guess you can blame me :-). Actually, the town, which is one of the wealthiest in the country in what is known as the 'stockbroker belt', is surrounded by hills and valleys, which may act as a natural funnel for tornados. Indeed, in recent years, we have two sets of fences in our garden blown down by strong winds.

However, I am really raising this matter here because I am sure the C's said not long ago that some areas of the world may start to experience stronger winds than hitherto they have known. I guess Britain with all the karma it has stored up over the years may be one of them. I wonder If anyone can track that quote down.
I live in Suffolk. Surrounded by tall trees. The wind yesterday was literally terrifying , making them swing like pendulums , high anxiety causing , never mind the downpours and the flooded lanes. Today the sun is scorching. I could sunbathe but better not , due to sunburn. My mentor advises me to navigate these challenging times where the powers that lurch laugh planning our demise.

These accumulation of War ships by different parties US, Russia, China at a single point on the globe without any concrete plan of 'What to do' is not sustainable even for few months. Culturally, China has NOTHING (or little) to do with Jewish-Arab conflict, probably they are sending as a moral support to Russia.

It raises tensions on the crew manning the ship and vulnerable to make mistakes. Every body knows it is a "show off" as no body (aka big players) wants to go to war. But, that area is MOSSAD (master of 'fake' terrors) territory and has 'big portal'.

This reminds me the 'prank' USSR (aka Russians) pulled off at the conclusion of 1971 Indo-Pak war. Are we expecting similar 'prank'? If so, Israel is ROASTED once for all. In a way, this type of 'prank' is the only logical way out of the situation except total disaster for the planet.
The 1971 war is considered to be modern India’s finest hour, in military terms. The quick reaction of the Indian army, navy and air force; a brass led by the legendary Sam Maneckshaw; and ceaseless international lobbying by the political leadership worked well to set up the victory. After two weeks of vicious land, air and sea battles, nearly 100,000 Pakistani soldiers surrendered to India’s army, the largest such capitulation since General Paulus’ surrender at Stalingrad in 1943. However, it could all have come unstuck without help from veto-wielding Moscow, with which New Delhi had the foresight to sign a security treaty in 1970.

As Nixon’s conversations with the wily Kissinger show, the forces arrayed against India were formidable. The Pakistani military was being bolstered by aircraft from Jordan, Iran, Turkey and France. Moral and military support was amply provided by the U.S., China and the UK. Though not mentioned in the conversations, the UAE sent in half a squadron of fighter aircraft and the Indonesians dispatched at least one naval vessel to fight alongside the Pakistani Navy.

However, Russia’s entry thwarted a scenario that could have led to multiple pincer movements against India.

Superpowers face-off

On December 10, even as Nixon and Kissinger were frothing at the mouth, Indian intelligence intercepted an American message, indicating that the U.S. Seventh Fleet was steaming into the war zone. The Seventh Fleet, which was then stationed in the Gulf of Tonkin, was led by the 75,000 ton nuclear powered aircraft carrier, the USS Enterprise. The world’s largest warship, it carried more than 70 fighters and bombers. The Seventh Fleet also included the guided missile cruiser USS King, guided missile destroyers USS Decatur, Parsons and Tartar Sam, and the large amphibious assault ship USS Tripoli.

Standing between the Indian cities and the American ships was the Indian Navy’s Eastern Fleet led by the 20,000-ton aircraft carrier, Vikrant, with barely 20 light fighter aircraft. When asked if India’s Eastern Fleet would take on the Seventh Fleet, the Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Vice Admiral N. Krishnan, said: “Just give us the orders.” The Indian Air Force, having largely dealt with the Pakistani Air Force within the first week of the war, was reported to be on alert for any possible intervention by aircraft from the Enterprise.

Meanwhile, Soviet intelligence reported that a British naval group led by the aircraft carrier Eagle had moved closer to India’s territorial waters. However, India did not panic. It quietly sent Moscow a request to activate a secret provision of the Indo-Soviet security treaty, under which Russia was bound to defend India in case of any external aggression.

The British and the Americans had planned a coordinated pincer to intimidate India: while the British ships in the Arabian Sea would target India’s western coast, the Americans would make a dash into the Bay of Bengal in the east where 100,000 Pakistani troops were caught between the advancing Indian troops and the sea.

To counter this two-pronged British-American threat, Russia dispatched a nuclear-armed flotilla from Vladivostok on December 13 under the overall command of Admiral Vladimir Kruglyakov, the Commander of the 10th Operative Battle Group (Pacific Fleet). Though the Russian fleet comprised a good number of nuclear-armed ships and atomic submarines, their missiles were of limited range (less than 300 km). Hence, to effectively counter the British and American fleets the Russian commanders had to undertake the risk of encircling them to bring them within their target. This they did with military precision.

In an interview to a Russian TV program after his retirement, Admiral Kruglyakov, who commanded the Pacific Fleet from 1970 to 1975, recalled that Moscow ordered the Russian ships to prevent the Americans and British from getting closer to “Indian military objects”. The genial Kruglyakov added: “The Chief Commander’s order was that our submarines should surface when the Americans appear. It was done to demonstrate to them that we had nuclear submarines in the Indian Ocean. So when our subs surfaced, they recognised us. In the way of the American Navy stood the Soviet cruisers, destroyers and atomic submarines equipped with anti-ship missiles. We encircled them and trained our missiles at the Enterprise. We blocked them and did not allow them to close in on Karachi, Chittagong or Dhaka."

At this point, the Russians intercepted a communication from the commander of the British carrier battle group, Admiral Dimon Gordon, to the Seventh Fleet commander: “Sir, we are too late. There are the Russian atomic submarines here, and a big collection of battleships.” The British ships fled towards Madagascar while the larger U.S. task force stopped before entering the Bay of Bengal.

The Russian manoeuvres clearly helped prevent a direct clash between India and the U.S.-UK combine. Newly declassified documents reveal that the Indian Prime Minister went ahead with her plan to liberate Bangladesh, despite inputs that the Americans had kept three battalions of Marines on standby to deter India and that the American aircraft carrier USS Enterprise had orders to target the Indian Army, which had broken through the Pakistani Army’s defences and was heading to the gates of Lahore, West Pakistan’s second largest city.

According to a six-page note prepared by India's foreign ministry, "The bomber force aboard the Enterprise had the U.S. President's authority to undertake bombing of the Indian Army's communications, if necessary."
Even though the above article talks about Russian navy encircled American and British vessels( in 1971 Info-Pak War), I read a different article which says Russians were late into theater with their vessels, to bluff the Americans and West they raised one submarine to be visible so that West can back out. In a way, C's made similar statement in recent session.

Q: (annp) Are the countries recently joining BRICS and BRICS plus less afraid of the CIA now?

A: Yes

Q: (annp) Have Russia slash China given them some anti-CIA pesticides? [laughter]

A: Not exactly, but have given tech and intel assurance of backup if needed.

Q: (L) So they let 'em know that they would help them with tech and intel if they need it.

Israel strikes Gaza, Syria and West Bank as war against Hamas threatens to ignite other fronts

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told troops in northern Israel that if Hezbollah launches a war against Israel,
“it will make the mistake of its life. We will cripple it with a force it cannot even imagine and the consequences for it and the Lebanese state will be devastating.”

Heavy airstrikes were reported across Gaza, including in the southern part of the coastal strip, where Israel has told civilians to seek refuge. At the Al-Aqsa hospital in Deir al-Balah, south of the evacuation line, several bodies wrapped in white shrouds were lined up outside on the ground.

US ‘won’t hesitate’ to act in case of Middle East conflict escalation: Austin

The United States will take “appropriate action” in response to any escalation in the Middle East of the conflict between Israel and Hamas, Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said Sunday.

“If any group or any country is looking to widen this conflict and take advantage of this very unfortunate situation that we see, our advice is: don’t,” he told ABC News, hours after the Pentagon announced it was increasing its military presence in the region.

“We maintain the right to defend ourselves and we won’t hesitate to take the appropriate action,” Austin added.

IDF: Palestinian gunmen ‘fortified’ Jenin mosque, dug tunnel underneath
By EMANUEL FABIAN

The Israel Defense Forces on Tuesday accused Palestinian gunmen in the West Bank city of Jenin of turning a mosque into a “fortified” hideout, complete with an underground tunnel and a cache of weapons.
sraeli forces gained control of the al-Ansari mosque on Monday afternoon, following a shootout with Palestinian gunmen in the area, during the course of a major counterterrorism operation against the Jenin refugee camp.
The IDF said it carried out a drone strike against the armed Palestinians outside the mosque and later managed to break in
The equipment was seized, the weapons were destroyed, and the tunnel was rendered inoperable, the IDF said.

In reference to war ships gathering in the Mediterranean. Hey…what could go wrong?

The US does have a history of quick charging into a war after an attack on a ship. “The Main” > Spanish American War. "The Lusitania" > WWI. "Pearl Harbor" > WWII. "Bay of Tonkin" > Viet Nam.

Tipping points, real or manufactured, that cause (or allow) the government to start wars.

If I walked into the chow-hall on any particular nothing day, and saw that we were being served steak and lobster for dinner, I’m sure me and my buddies would look at each other and say in unison, Uhh OH? (but then again, that could have be done, and the information purposely spread about, just to heighten our tension)

In a bathtub called the Eastern Mediterranean exposed multitudes of useful pawns await. As for lobster and steak... when you have been sentenced to death in prison you are given a luscious meal before your unavoidable execution

It does not seem succulent, but it is symbolic. Others who belonged to the navy indicate that it is a sign of bad news, such as that they will not be with their families this Christmas.

A very interesting article. However, I don't buy it. Some of the language used in the article just seems wrong to me like Nixon saying "Paks". Would he have really used that term back then? Moreover, I could never see a British naval commander of the period saying “Sir, we are too late. There are the Russian atomic submarines here, and a big collection of battleships.” To an admiral of that generation, the term "battleship" had a specific meaning, as a large surface vessel (usually over 30,000 tons) mounting guns of a calibre of 14 inches or more. Such vessels had been retired from every major fleet's order of battle by 1971 with the sole exception of the USA, which retained a small number of battleships for use as fire support in bombarding the Vietnamese coastline during the Vietnam War, which was still raging at that time. The admiral would not, therefore, have referred to a group of surface vessels collectively as "battleships". To me this article seems more like a propaganda piece playing to Indian nationalist sentiments - "The British ships fled towards Madagascar" - thus portraying the old colonial masters fleeing with their tails between their legs. Great stuff if you are an Indian reader. Nuclear submarines posed (as they still do today) a great threat to surface ships, especially large aircraft carriers. That is why American and British carrier groups always sail in the company of a nuclear submarine to counter the threat of other nuclear submarines. I would suggest the alternative article you read would have been closer to the truth. At the end of the day, in 1971 at the height of the Cold War, neither the Americans nor the British could afford a shooting war with the Russians, which could have quickly gone nuclear. Hence, even the presence of one Russian nuclear hunter killer submarine would have been enough to make them take stock and back off.

I agree that the "big stick" threat is often used by the Americans and its allies as a means of getting countries to back down and come into line. However, it can prove an empty gesture if the country being threatened is prepared to call your bluff, as you showed here. I would also suggest that it will not work against the Iranians this time either. Time will tell though.
