"Using civilians as a humans"...
If we take into account that for certain authorities who are making decisions such as cutting off electricity and water - that means also lack of food - and they are bombing bakeries as well, inocent people are not considering civilians to them, and since they have demonstrated that "collateral damage to civilians" is of little importance to, this justification is not longer true.
Besides, there is October 7, where was this Hamas identification technology?
I must have seen too many movies where if there are civilians, you don't attack, period. And look for the best possible way to avoid bloodshed. Besides it is well known for the armed forces to infiltrate as civilians, they forgot that part, I guess.
And it has not only been that hospital, it has been other hospitals, schools, churches, mosques, residential buildings, etc.
The especulation by Scott Ritter, in your terms of "wasn't just wanton slaughter" is not true either. Yes, if Israel wanted to kill as much as possible, he had done so, IDF manages his cards so that his actions are not too obvious and in the public eye - those who support him, both governments of other countries and citizens, continue to support it.
I may understand that he would want to cool off the crude reality, It was somewhat obvious to me too, that since the hospital attack - and because of the debate that ensued and more people found out about it - there have been more protests worldwide, but these have not subsided because Israel continues to massacre innocent civilians. Scott Ritter, would justify also that Hamas is "using civilians" in every building destroyed as IDF is doing?
"The Mikholit is the small Israeli munition used to 'knock' on buildings to warn residents that they will be bombed." your terms I did read the article, is easier quoting you, though .. Before what many seconds, minutes and in the middle of the night without electricity? Families with babies, toddlers, old people, injured, going where in the middle of the shelling?, because it had not been just one building per night. That detail Ritter didn't considered.
This report - I have not checked out to other sources, but I am not surprised- confirms to me that Israel does not consider civilians as equals, or just does not consider them at all.
Edit, update X
