Jordan Peterson: Gender Pronouns and Free Speech War

"The Civil Rights movement was about UN-DOING the harm caused by Identity Politics; Blacks wanted the same rights as everybody else, (equality of opportunity), not different levels of opportunity and special rules just for them." The Civil Rights movement was about integrating with the tribe, not fragmenting it.

"Winning WWII was about all individuals within a tribe working to prevent destruction at the hands of another tribe. It was tribal warfare against an actual Other, an alien culture not bound by the common borders and laws and support systems of the home tribe. Identity Politicking by contrast subdivides the existing tribe at home, demanding different rights for different people, seeking to create a class system and fracturing the whole tribe into many parts each with their own special rules and considerations, creating Others within what was once traditionally home soil for every member."

For a start, yes it is tough countering arguments as often the vector of explanation is multi directional. There is no simple explanation to be give in a few sentences or even paragraphs. WW II was anything BUT tribalism. To understand WW II you will need to understand WW I AND ON TOP the financial forces behind both of these terrible events. Now this will take at least an hour to dissect.

Civil Rights was about un-doing wrongs? So I though (I lived through it not knowing how to interpret strang goings on) until I listened to this lecture.

For ME this talk put some pieces together that before simply made no sense. Now I see what was happening then COMPLETELY differently. As a result it has given me a better perspective to look at the Southern Caravan and what is happening to Sweden at this very moment.

The Gulag Archipelago: A new foreword by Jordan B. Peterson

It's a really good distillation of what the book meant, and still means, to humankind

For those who read Solzhenitsyn I would advise to contemplate two things.

1) Why did he shut himself away from the Ideal Place (USA) to which traveled ? He secluded himself in the middle of nowhere in Vermont.

2) What prompted him to say what he said at the Harvard Commencements in 1978 ?
Surprise

I will give a small clue: How could a guy like Trotsky get a passport from President Wilson in 1917 ?
Magic Fairy Godfather

I bet Solzhenitsyn didn't know this when he was in the Soviet Union.

From your link, it sounds like Solzhenitsyn had become aware of the same forces working in the background of Western culture that Andrew Lobaczewski did when writing Ponerology.

One of the things understood on this board, (or should be) is that Marxism was funded by top level globalist players and that it wasn't a grass roots evolution.

Instead of "small clues", why not lay out your thinking for us? Are you suggesting that Solzhenitsyn was a double agent and that he was lying to us or something?

Wow. That interview is so dense that I thought I was at the end only to discover I was only 50 minutes in. It really goes places.

This part goes so well with the current discussion on NPCs that it's hard to believe it's coincidence:

Oh man he was really fed up by the end of that interview. From the start he could see that she was disingenuous and contradictory, but when she started with the gotcha questions he just cut her off.

Re your JP @ Calgary mention in July:

The decision follows recent disputes between the arts community and Arts Commons, including the removal of an installation by a trans artist in the +15 space last month, and concerns about a Jordan Peterson lecture hosted in one of Arts Commons venues in July.

Despite the artists +15 dispute (not surprised), from JP's schedule it appears that he will be in Calgary again in December, and it is a nice venue. I looked at getting tickets and traveling there but work is getting in the way. Hope to catch his talks live one day.

That was my interpretation when I realized that he shut himself off so quickly. I think he realized that that which he was running away from had its roots in the place of his supposed safe haven. I'm not aware if he ever wrote anything expalining why he did what he did but from looking at the overall picture and what he was in the middle of in Russia leads me to make that assumption.

Wow, Which hunt! The Tweet responses are great with support.

The episode aired yesterday. Haven't seen it yet as the CBC website is only viewable from Canada. But here's an article from the filmmaker, confirming my suspicion: that she has been a long-time 'fan' and supporter of Peterson: Why I made a film about Jordan Peterson

Edit: Looks like someone put it on YouTube, but I'm guessing it will be pulled soon, so get it while you can!

That was a very interesting watch, thanks for that AI. What is always apparent to me when following Peterson over the last 2 years is what a decent and reasonable person he continues to be. His fame/notoriety will not change him.

Personally I just want his speaking tour to come to an end, because I'm itching to hear more of his Biblical Analysis shows. He's going to be a very busy person in the coming years, I can only see him growing.

Oh, and for forum members in the UK, Peterson will be a guest on the BBC Political show Question Time next Thursday 10:45pm. Should be a good one.

Well, it was better treatment from the CBC than I expected. They contrasted his reasonableness with the loonies who organized the rallies, which was nice. I really enjoyed some of the behind the scenes moments, especially the segments with Tammy, his kids and his friend.

In a way, the documentary makers didn't seem to take a position. There was no voice over pointing out that the protester and Peterson were talking past each other for example, or that the trans kid missed Peterson's point all together.

Trans kid (who seems like a decent person) still thinks it's about him, when in fact Peterson is defending his larger right to speak, as he gets to in the documentary. He's unhappy that his message isn't getting traction the way Jordan's is. Maybe he will think about that as he gets older.

Well that was fast! -It's currently buried.

The CBC website where this doc would normally be available informs me: "Episode available within Canada only." -Which is curious given that I'm trying to access the site from within Canada over Bell Canada's own internet service. Hm.

I guess one of the advantages of the death of TV journalism (if you happen to be a TV broadcaster) is that it's easier to prevent people from seeing a message if it happens to be something you don't want people to be exposed to. In fact.., the ONLY officially available portions of that film (trailers) send the exact opposite message to casual viewers; it makes Peterson look demonic and his message evil, and even the title "Shut Him Down" supports the idea that this is in fact the opinion of the documentary maker, backed by the authority of the Canadian government's official media organ. (I wonder if the film maker was responsible for the promotional clip or if it was created in house by the CBC?)

I've actually seen this before personally; documentary film makers are in a sticky position of needing to recoup input funds on their project, so they try all manner of handy Capitalist tactics, up to an including selling distribution rights to groups like the CBC in this case. The end result being that information becomes owned and restricted. The creator is suddenly no longer allowed to simply post it for free on line. Whups!

The best policy, especially for people trying to enter the cultural conversation and have an impact on populations, is to make their message freely available. It's how JP did it. -Then solicit donations after the fact, or sell supplemental materials, (books and course materials).

My guess is that this documentary may well be never seen again; if you happened to have missed the air date on TV, you're out of luck. The CBC is a propaganda organ, make no mistake, a Canadian "Voice of America" aimed inward at its own populace. Distributing through the CBC is like choosing to silence yourself if you have a message which runs counter to the official political messaging.

I think we're seeing the product of damage control.

Indeed, and what else is there, CTV, yeah, right.

CBC has had good radio talks along the way and even some of there distant past TV used to have fairly good interviews, like back in time with Velikovsky, and I still keep track of CBC's angles on the news and what they promote, though. However, what they have become is a shadow of their former selves (embedded with the usual types of leftist talking heads), not that they were not always interested in time in selling the imperial/NATO/globalist message; it's full bore now.

Recently, CTV/CBC has amped up rhetoric, like a priming mechanism, for the America Civil War to come, and if it comes, its cause; as they posit to the public rolling out so called 'specialist' on the subject.

YouTube threw this suggestion at me and I had a looksee. It's amazing how deep YouTube's rabbit hole goes, how much great stuff there is to be found, -and just how much of it is not lightweight cat video nonsense, but rather deeply thoughtful, complex and demanding of careful attention. I can certainly see why Peterson thinks that YouTube (or something like it) could provide the means for an equivalent of a university education, (at least on the lecture side of things, I'd add).

At what looks like her kitchen table, this youtuber offers some forthright thoughts on the psychological fallout which occurs when men are universally considered toxic, Enemy #1 and without value in their traditional roles.

Beyond it being relevant to those interested in the immediate dating game, it is also I think probably a deliberate result of the species engineering going on today from a 4D perspective. How do you breed masculine traits out of a species and thus render them more manageable?

While I have seen some Real Men (tm) who are building families today, I am seeing them outnumbered by a lot of mincing hyper-agreeable beta males who are able to shelve their pride and individuality and their true opinions, (if they still have any left), etc., in order to become successful in mating. They're pathetic, but they're winning the genetics game, and boy, does that ever piss me off! -And almost entirely because I hate to see a manipulative exploit being played successfully on the human race. It makes me want to get married and have kids.

I liked this one!

The interviewer had done her homework; she compiled and competently presented in one convenient video all the choice 'killer' arguments concocted by JP's detractors over the past 12 months.

And he shot them down one after another. Easily.

-Because, (let's be honest), most of those show stopper arguments exist at the same difficulty level of, "If god loves us, then why is there suffering in the world?" Junior High Philosophy Club reduction.

"You are conflating Identity Politics with Tribalism. They are not the same thing!"

I don't think he spelled out each argument to my own full satisfaction, and certainly not well enough to win over the interviewer (or I imagine, anybody committed to the Leftist ideological stew), but well enough to perhaps set normal viewers to thinking through each logical puzzle on their own and thus learn the concepts more thoroughly than if they were simply handed over fully assembled. (I don't know if this is a deliberate stylistic teaching approach on JP's part, or just a consequence of being hammered with the same silly questions over and over and assuming a basic level of informed rational capacity on the part of the viewers as he flicks them away).

In any case, this video did once again raise my wonder and awe at the stubborn blindness of his debating opponent/s!

How do people proceed in their old beliefs when their arguments are broken down, demonstrated to be faulty, and then effective alternative reasoning afterwards provided? That should be the end of the story! The rational response should be, "Oh! I never thought of it like that!" -Maybe not instant agreement, but at least, "I need to think about that some more."

But instead we see a stony faced non-response, skipping to the next line of attack as if the words just spoken were not heard or not computed. I really don't get that! I've seen it myself many times. It requires one to somehow shut off their facility to understand and process language for the duration of those selected moments when the debate is not going in one's favor. -Deafness! Not a retort. Not a counter argument, but to simply not hear and to not adapt, to just continue as though a primary logical pillar hadn't just been vaporized! It's really disturbing and frustrating to witness in people.

Ah well. That's nothing new. It's commonplace. It's the bedrock mental mechanism of entire swaths of the population. It may even a primary state of the human psyche.

But damn, it's still really weird to see in action! It's one of those key areas which differentiates "player characters" from "non-player characters".
I felt this interview very tiring and hoped it is 45 min one, but it is 1ht 45 min. Many questions are ridiculous and she didn't bothered to research on his views. It looked to me he was chiding her in rather comedic way at many instances. Normally people will get ashamed, but she goes on and on. I have to stop multiple times to understand what is going on. This interview is much worse than Kathy Newman one. After 1hr 15 min, I see JBP was tired, he slowed down in pace and voice , but not in the quality of response. I guess, these leftie middle aged feminists are like that, as if they are holding on to the life. NPC meme does seems to fit.
