Killary Clinton, The Donald, or Jill Stein: The US Election

Re: Presidential debates 2016 between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump

Since I am not going to be forcefed with amphetamine like Hillary during the debate I doubt I will make it through.

It's a bit to late. If others feel like watching the debate please share your observation. Thank you and who knows, maybe something interesting happens !! :)

Re: Presidential debates 2016 between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump

How about a poll whether Killary will endure the whole debate (and without glitching) or not? :D

Re: Presidential debates 2016 between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump

I'll be watching, and testing out a new video capture device that I barely know how to use in case something interesting happens. Haven't decided which of these MSM presstitute channels to record. Any suggestions? I don't want to mess up the recording by flipping around during. Standard fairly limited selection of US cable channels, likely being cut out of my budget as soon as this monstrosity of an election is over.

It's too bad it isn't at a good worldwide coordinated time to watch together live. Isn't it more likely to have some sort of quantum reality-shifting effect the more eyes are focused on it with intent? Then again, what sort of outcome could we really try to manifest that would have any effect, besides Killary blowing a fuse? Which as much as she might deserve it, still seems sort of morbid to wish for in just a general as opposed to a specific sense.

I won't be watching it live either, no way I'm staying up that late just to shout at the television! :scared: Will save that for tomorrow.

Re: Presidential debates 2016 between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump

The surprises are starting before the debate.

Despite being snubbed by former US presidents George H.W. Bush and George W. Bush, Republican candidate Donald Trump has won support for his presidential run from a group of more than 50 members of both Bush administrations.

'Alumni' of US Bush Administrations Back Trump Hours Before Presidential Debate

The endorsement was issued in a form of a letter just hours before Monday night’s televised debate between Trump and Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton.

We, the undersigned, citing the need for bold leadership, a strong national defense, sound economic policy and a Supreme Court committed to preserving the freedoms framed in the Constitution, launch this coalition of former Cabinet officials, presidential appointees and campaign alumni of the George H.W. and/or George W. Bush administrations," a letter released on Monday read.

The coalition includes former defense secretary Donald Rumsfeld, former White House political director Matt Schlapp, former Veterans Affairs Secretary Anthony Principi, former White House press secretary Ari Fleischer, former US Attorney General John Ashcroft, former Labor Secretary Elaine Chao and former Treasury Secretary John Snow.

The letter was signed, "Bush Alumni Coalition Supporting Donald J. Trump and Governor Mike Pence for President and Vice President."

I'd like to watch live but the timing is wrong for my timezone and one has to get up in the morning for work.

No way I can ruin my sleep for that. But I sure hope some of the stateside folks will record and comment on it here so that first thing when I get up I can have the scoop!!

Looking forward to the commentary and analysis.

Green Party presidential candidate Jill Stein said she was escorted by police from the university campus in New York state where Republican and Democratic nominees Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton were preparing for their first debate.

US Green Party's Jill Stein Escorted From Presidential Debate Premises by Police
https://sputniknews.com/us/20160927/1045728593/jill-stein-escorted-debate-premises-police.html

The incident took place just hours before the two US major-party candidates’ debate at Hofstra University on New York’s Long Island.

“We were on our way to an interview with MSNBC when we were stopped by Hofstra security and Nassau County police just now," Stein wrote in a Twitter message.

According to Stein, officers with the Nassau County Police Department asked the candidate if she had credentials required to enter the debate premises.

Neither Stein nor Libertarian Party candidate Gary Johnson was invited to participate in Monday’s debate because they had failed to attract at least 15 percent of likely voters’ support in national opinion polls.

The Commission on Presidential Debates set the poll-support threshold as a condition of participating in Monday’s event. In another Twitter post on Monday, Stein cited opinion polls in asserting that 75 percent of Americans want “open debates” and deserve to have all candidates represented on stage. Stein added that she would respond to Monday’s debate via social media.

CSPAN's a good one to watch it on because they have no commentary. Also they just run the mike feed before it starts and sometimes you hear things you don't on the regular networks.

I was thinking C-SPAN but I don't get it in HD! I thought maybe NBC since the moderator is from there but they were still showing The Voice 5 minutes before so the hell with them. MSNBC seemed to have some sort of copy-protection on their signal so I settled on CNN. Yes, the commentary is excruciating. I might have to go with C-SPAN next time, HD or no.

Re: Presidential debates 2016 between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump

One hour into the show and Hillary has maintained a smirk on her face about 99% of the time, in my perspective it comes off as childish, un-presidential, and overly confident. She's not really justifying her perspective, instead it's more of a mocking that she resorts to with that look on her face. Trump, he's restraining himself more than he did in the past in so far as I've seen.

Re: Presidential debates 2016 between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump

My first blink reaction after watching this circus, is that they are both closer to each other on many issues than one would like. It will be a win for the elite, business and for wars across the world.

Hillary did bobble her head about 15 minutes into the debate and perhaps more.

Trumps narcissism showed and he lost a lot of time defending and boasting about how great a business man he is.

Time for a coffee before the early shift so it won't be a longer post about the details.

Re: Presidential debates 2016 between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump

I only managed to catch the tail end of the debate, during Hill's comments on Iran. My impression was Hill sounded more presidential than Trump, which could have been due to rehearsal and having prevoius information about the questions (she's too favored by the establishment not to IMO). Others on twitter have complained that the questions were crafted in a way that clearly benefited Hillary over Trump as well, although I can't comment on the parts of the debate I haven't seen yet. She got a couple of zingers in too, which really seems to be the currency. I think she creamed him, which is sad because I was looking forward to a Trump presidency limiting the foreign US interventionism... not that the PTBs don't have contingency plans for their doom train. :/

Re: Presidential debates 2016 between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump

It definitely seemed to illustrate how close together they are on most issues, and other than some of Trump's mannerisms he has become known for I'm not sure how it was really different than most other US presidential debates over the last few decades. The narrative that Trump is some anti-establishment insurgent has persisted in some alternative circles but it seems to be on the wane. His narcissism causes him to take the bait easily when baited with distracting issues and it keeps him from effectively going after Hillary's psychopathic tendencies, to the extent he would even be inclined to do so on certain limited issues. Is he really any more than a loose cannon who some people hope might get in and accidentally say the wrong thing and expose the establishment, assuming anyone will even be listening and be able to repeat it? Or not be as likely as Killary to start more wars, but of course no one can say for sure? It reminds me of Bush vs. Gore, and how much difference would it really have made if Gore had gotten in? But then what would the 9/11 on that timeline have looked like, and would we have somehow preferred it?
