Major wildfires hit Los Angeles

In the cosmic context we are in, we also can't rule out the possibility that meteorites may have caused several fires in different places, sometimes even at almost the same time. Fueled by strong to violent, swirling winds, this can also sometimes explain why some things burn next to others that don't. Fire can 'jump' and even 'fly'. As if it were alive. No wonder why our distant ancestors thought Fire was a God.

And that's without mentioning what's been said before: drought, poor forest management, the personal/financial interests of some or others, and God knows what else...

Whatever the cause —anthropogenic, natural or cosmic— the result of biomass fires and fires of all kinds is more dust —and pollution— in the atmosphere, leading to atmospheric cooling. Fire and Ice.

SUNGRAZING COMET AT DAWN: Comet ATLAS (C/2024 G3) is brightening rapidly as it falls toward the sun for a Monday close encounter. This morning before sunrise, Petr Horálek saw it with his naked eyes over the hills of Spisske Podrhadie, Slovakia:

"I was truly surprised," says Horálek. "While Mercury was difficult to find, the comet was an easy target. Thanks to finding it in the camera's viewfinder, I could see it immediately with my eyes too (the structures in the clouds in its vicinity helped)."

Meanwhile in England, Nick James of the British Astronomical Association photographed the sungrazer in broad daylight. His image, captured while the afternoon sun was hidden behind a tree, is inset in this up-to-date light curve from the Comet Observation Database:

"I was surprised to get such a strong image," says James. "The comet must be pretty bright."

James compared the comet to Venus, which was even higher in the afternoon sky, and was able to make an estimate of the comet's brightness: "It's magnitude was about -0.8. That doesn't really seem bright enough given how prominent the comet is on the image, but that is what I get!"

If current trends hold, Comet ATLAS could brighten another 2 to 4 magnitudes by Jan. 13th when the comet swoops only 0.09 AU from the sun. Although it will likely be brighter than Venus, only the most experienced observers should attempt to photograph the comet so close to the blinding sun.

If Comet ATLAS survives the heat, it could become a nice object in the evening sky next week. Southern hemisphere observers are favored, but many northerners will be able to see it, too. Read "Prospects for C/2024 G3 (ATLAS)" by Nick James for observing tips.

Not sure what type of trees are native to the affected areas in LA & California, but in Australia Eucalyptus & other gum trees are designed to burn.
Designed to thrive after fires
Like many plants native to fire-prone regions, eucalyptus trees (aka gum trees in Australia) are adapted to survive — or even thrive — in a wildfire. Fallen eucalyptus leaves create dense carpets of flammable material, and the trees' bark peels off in long streamers that drop to the ground, providing additional fuel that draws ground fires up into the leaves, creating massive, fast-spreading "crown fires" in the upper story of eucalyptus forests.
Additionally, the eucalyptus oil that gives the trees their characteristic spicy fragrance is a flammable oil: This oil, combined with leaf litter and peeling bark during periods of dry, windy weather, can turn a small ground fire into a terrifying, explosive firestorm in a matter of minutes. That's why eucalyptus trees — especially the blue gums (Eucalyptus globulus) that are common throughout New South Wales — are sometimes referred to wryly as "gasoline trees."
And after a bushfire sweeps through an area, the eucalyptus trees have an advantage over other plants. Their seed capsules open up when burned, and the seedlings thrive in freshly burned, ash-rich soils.

Here is a theory about how the fires where started which sounds possible to me. He gives his credentials at the beginning and sounds well qualified, he's an expert in field and electrical theory, which I've never heard of. He gets into a detailed description of how our electrical system works which is a bit to technical for me but others may be more familiar. This could explain fires starting at the same times as shown in the sat. video.

What he describes has been known since the 1920's or earlier. A current is induced in the lines which create energy nodal points which then create sparks that fall to the ground and create fires.

Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova, commenting on reports that hundreds of prisoners have been mobilized to extinguish fires in the US state of California, pointed to the hypocrisy of the United States:
MOSCOW, January 12. /TASS/. Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova, commenting on reports that hundreds of prisoners have been mobilized to extinguish fires in the US state of California, pointed to the hypocrisy of the United States.

Earlier, The Washington Post, citing the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, reported that the state authorities had sent 395 prisoners to fight forest fires. The newspaper noted that most of them were persons who had committed minor crimes.

On her Telegram channel, Zakharova pointed out that in recent years, US officials have repeatedly criticized China for allegedly using forced labor, particularly in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. The diplomat noted that in 2023, Washington restricted imports of products from several Chinese companies in an attempt to exclude goods allegedly produced with the help of Uygur forced labor from the US supply chain. "This raises a logical question: will Congress draft a bill imposing sanctions on California authorities, private companies, and ordinary Americans for using prison labor to put out fires?" she wondered. "We are so sick of this hypocrisy!" Zakharova added.

Wildfires began to spread across Los Angeles County on January 7. According to meteorologists, dry and windy weather was the cause of the rapid spread of the fires. Evacuation notices were sent to nearly 180,000 residents. The fire has destroyed more than 12,300 structures in the region, with damage estimated in the tens of billions of dollars.

"EMERGENCY ALERT The Palisades Fire rages on, having devastated 23,654 acres with only 11% containment, posing a severe threat to Brentwood, Encino, and Sherman Oaks! We must urgently spread this message to heighten awareness and rally support for those in peril.Mandatory evacuation orders remain in effect for Mandeville Canyon in Brentwood, stretching from Sunset Boulevard north to the Encino Reservoir, from the 405 Freeway west to Mandeville Canyon, and parts of Encino south of Ventura Boulevard. Evacuation warnings have been expanded, and a strict curfew from 6 PM to 6 AM is enforced across all affected areas. For the most current evacuation zones, please visit" http://AlertLA.org.

I am seeing two objects in this video. One at the beginning in the bottom that looks like a metalic ball. And the other one is in the middle toward the end, closer to the screen and grey in color. Both of them look like UFOs. Unless the first one is a plane or a helicopter that just looks like this from afar.

There is this snipet from Joe Rogan show where he shares about his experiences when he still lived in LA, and what he was told by a firefighter. Basically, it was a long coming, and this time the wind blew in an "unlucky" and "right" way.

He also mentioned on a recent show that fire insurance for houses in the area where he lived was $120,000 per year.

While listening to different discussions on the fire today i heard something that has me curious. Where are all the people that lost their homes in the fire? We aren't seeing any interviews or shelter areas that have been set up as we usually do. Also it was said there are many hotels available but they aren't being used by these displaced people. Apparently, Naomi Wolf was one person who spoke of the hotels but it was repeated by another person. I haven't followed the coverage real closely so maybe I've missed it but I haven't seen any of these people either.

Wildfires in California, is like snow in Buffalo. Not uncommon. In Buffalo however, there is a massive infrastructure to handle this.

I cant help but think these fires are wanted, destruction of property and life by not just neglect but desire....for any number of reasons.

The entire west coast of the state is the Pacific Ocean....having several desalination plants with methods of distribution, you would think is a necessity? But they seem to be more interested in DEI, and social justice and Trans rights....this is just crazy, but crazy used to be a small minority.
