Malaysian Airlines Flight 17 Crashes in Ukraine

One other scenario, this person putting up the reward may have a personal stake in the loss of life ( family member/friend) on MH17. On the positive side it maybe just a "Good man" trying to find justice.

Though I have to say, my first thought when reading this page was BAIT!....draw out any evidence that maybe uncontrolled. Imho....

That was the first thing that crossed my mind too. In case there was something they missed in covering their tracks.

MH17 research team return home; area still dangerous, says PM

Friday 19 September 2014

The 30-strong extra research team dispatched to Ukraine last week to help with the investigation into the downing of Malaysian Airways flight MH17 is returning home because it is too dangerous to visit the crash site.

Dutch prime minister Mark Rutte said on Friday a team of 20 researchers will remain in the eastern city of Kharkov in the hope that a cease fire can be agreed.

'At the moment it would simply be irresponsible to send these people into the field,' Rutte said. Australia and Malaysia agree with this analysis, he said.

In total, 298 people died when the Boeing 777 was apparently brought down by a missile in July. Since then, crash investigators have only had brief access to the crash site because of the fighting between Ukrainian forces and pro-Russian rebels.

On November 1st Schiphol will close down the space where support messages were left to the victims of flight MH17. The cards, stuffed animals, condolence books, photos and letters will be safely kept until a permanent destination is found for them.

An enormous amount of flowers arrived at departure hall 3 after the disaster in the Ukraine on July 17th. In early August the fresh flowers, more than a thousand stuffed animals and other personal belongings were moved to the pedestrian link under the World Trade Center at the airport.

This space was named “Reflection MH17″ and there the support messages and other belongings were protected from the elements. The public was able to visit Reflection MH17 between 07:00 am and 19:00 pm. The visiting hours were recently shortened to 10:00 am to 14:00 pm, due to the dwindling amount of people visiting the memorial.

Schiphol is still considering a permanent memorial for the victims. The airport is currently engaged in consultations with everyone involved, including the relatives and friends of the victims.

Have just watched a fragment of MH17 docu (part 1) by Arkadiy Mamontov on Russia 1 TV channel. It's in Russian. Although very short, it's rather interesting. For example, don't remember it mentioned anywhere before that the young lady, dispatcher from Dnepropetrovsk, who was leading MH 17, was allegedly accompanied by some person never seen in the control tower before. Will wait for the full version of the film, fwiw.

Very interesting! Thanks for sharing, Siberia. Looking forward to the full version. By the way, it is going to be shown on 11th of October in 18:55 Moscow time. Pity it won't be available in English, at least not right away.

For those, who know Russian, here's the full version of the documentary. Others in comments asked for the translation, so hopefully someone will do it soon. Will keep an eye on it.

There are a lot of interesting facts in the film, but the key points of the documentary: they looked at three main theories
1) the plane being gunned down by a plane
2) by a missile
3) explosion on board.

Their findings: Either there were two planes, or the same plane attacked twice. Pilots were the target. Were gunned by 30 mm cannon/gun in an angle. From both sides. They made sure that no one will survive. According to witnesses, when the plane fell it didn't have pilots cabin, the only sound that was before was't a sound of an explosion, but a sound of a pop/flap. And many other details.

They also made an experiment with a 30 mm cannon, and there were characteristic entry and exit holes as were present on MH17. As for the surface-to-air missile, like the Buk missile system, they don't see it as probable and bring up several explanations. According to Malaysian experts, first the plane was hit by an air-to-air missile, and then the canon finished the job.

Unfortunately, they didn't say anything about the "bomb on board" version. At least they say, that it is only one of the possible scenarios.

Indeed. I was hoping they would cover all three versions in detail. But anyway, very interesting.

For example, an interesting detail was mentioned by Peter Haisenko (don't remember it posted here before?): the info about characteristics of Su 25 was immediately edited in the English and German versions of Wikipedia and at other aircrafts-related websites after the crash. He shows his screenshots of the info before editing and after it. Before the crash, the maximum height was stated as 14,600 m, while after the editing it was only 7,500 m (14,600 m was specified in brackets only, as a flight test).

Also, the film contains interviews with the eyewitnesses, the pilot's family members, et al. I hope that maybe there will be some continue to this film (part 2 maybe).

Found this pretty poor translation, maybe by machine on Novorossia Today.

Germany published their data on the death of a Malaysian "Boeing"
Today in 12:21

There are new sensational details about the crash Boeing 777 MH17 in the sky over the Donbas. Moreover, the information came from where nobody was waiting for - of the German Bundestag, the site of which was published a memorandum with the data that the flight was shot down MN17 is not rocket "Book" issued "pro-Russian separatists" as previously claimed the West ... And missile air defense missile system S-125 (NATO - SA-3). It's an old Soviet complex, which in Russia has long withdrawn from service and replaced by the C-300. However, he is still there in the armies of the former Soviet Union, including Ukraine. In a modified version of the C-125 "Pechora" still exported to some foreign countries. The complex has a good live performance, during the war in Yugoslavia, precisely because it was shot down by the vaunted American stealth aircraft F-117, that the United States had to admit. But in any regard, this complex is referred to in the memorandum of the Bundestag? This 8-page document signed by the State Secretary (Deputy Minister) of Foreign Affairs Markus Ederer German Foreign Ministry sent to the Bundestag on September 5, even though it was published later. Loud statements to the press on this issue has not been done. Apparently, because, according to the German political scientist Kret Mayer, not to attract undue attention to the document. In fact, this memorandum was compelled to answer the German Foreign Ministry to request "Left Party" - the main opposition forces in the country. In connection with the crash MN17 "left" in particular interested in the government: what information he has about the circumstances of the death of "Boeing" in the sky over the Donbas? Government response stated that a record of negotiations in the air, but can not publish them without the consent of the Netherlands, is responsible for the investigation, but said "the federal government has no evidence to prove that the MH17 was hit by anti-aircraft missiles" - although, as we know, the West from the beginning unanimously claimed that the aircraft destroyed "Beech", "pro-Russian separatists."

Further, even more interesting: the document states that on July 17 in the airspace of Poland and Romania were two reconnaissance aircraft, NATO AWACS, which keeps track of everything going on in Ukraine, including the work of air defense systems, including radar. The document says that "both aircraft AWACS recorded signals air defense system, SAM identified as" surface-to-air "SA-3, as well as the radar signal from the other device, which could not be identified."

Comment: Germany just admitted the US and NATO have been lying all the time?

It's curious, but today the German Intelligence has declared that it was BUK and pro-Russian separatists..

Der Spiegel, October 19th 2014

Deadly Ukraine Crash: German Intelligence Claims Pro-Russian Separatists Downed MH17

Germany's foreign intelligence agency says its review of the crash of a Malaysian Airlines Boeing 777 in Ukrainian has concluded it was brought down by a missile fired by pro-Russian separatists near Donetsk.

After completing a detailed analysis, Germany's foreign intelligence service, the Bundesnachrichtendienst (BND), has concluded that pro-Russian rebels were responsible for the crash of Malaysian Airlines Flight MH17 on July 19 in eastern Ukraine while on route from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur.

In an Oct. 8 presentation given to members of the parliamentary control committee, the Bundestag body responsible for monitoring the work of German intelligence, BND President Gerhard Schindler provided ample evidence to back up his case, including satellite images and diverse photo evidence. The BND has intelligence indicating that pro-Russian separatists captured a BUK air defense missile system at a Ukrainian military base and fired a missile on July 17 that exploded in direct proximity to the Malaysian aircraft, which had been carrying 298 people.

Unambiguous Findings

Evidence obtained shortly after the accident suggested the aircraft had been shot down by pro-Russian militants. Both the governments of Russia and Ukraine had mutually accused each other of responsibility for the crash. After a Dutch investigative commission reviewed the flight recorder, it avoided placing any blame for the crash. Some 189 residents of the Netherlands perished in the downing of Flight MH17.

BND's Schindler says his agency has come up with unambiguous findings. One is that Ukrainian photos have been manipulated and that there are details indicating this. He also told the panel that Russian claims the missile had been fired by Ukrainian soldiers and that a Ukrainian fighter jet had been flying close to the passenger jet were false.

"It was pro-Russian separatists," Schindler said of the crash, which involved the deaths of four German citizens. A spokesman for the German Federal Prosecutor's Office told SPIEGEL that an investigation has been opened into unknown perpetrators because of the possibility that the crash had been a war crime.

Are they now trying to undo their own previous statements?

Probably damage control? Same BS - we know if they had ANY even remotely plausible evidence, they'd have presented it by now. They've been vilifying Putin, Russia, and the Novorossiyan rebels from day one with NO evidence at all (faked tweets don't count as credible evidence). So either put up or shut up. Russia already presented plenty of evidence for their claims.

The following links taken together, tell the rather curious story of a personally involved (by the death of a close relative) Dutch private citizen who traveled on his own into the Ukraine to visit the MH17 crash site in order to search all by himself for possible remains or belongings, or anything even remotely related -- and what happened next.
