Massive 'drone swarm' in and around New Jersey: UFO flap, govt tech, or mass hysteria?

Guess what that means...

'In 2025, a new branch of the military will appear in Russia – the Unmanned Systems Forces' – Russian Defense Minister Belousov.
It came to my mind too. What if these drones are Russian. They fly over USA head, just to show and test them. The US government cant detect them, cant track them so they play dumb as they are their, when in fact they are freaking out and they dont know what is going on. Just a speculation.

But i think it is more likely that it is done by the secret governmets, since the technology looks very advanced, and it is not that they havent doing tests on their own people before.

The following was reported in October, and it concerns a 'drone swarm' at and around Langley Air Force Base in December 2023. It's got all the same hallmarks as the current 'drone swarm' in NJ: several of them were even described as being "mother-ships"! The official word on that drone swarm is that the US govt STILL has no clue who or what was behind it...

Drone swarms targeting US military bases are operated by 'mother ship' UFO, claims top Pentagon official

14 October 2024

A retired, senior Pentagon official has confirmed that UFO 'mother ships' were spotted 'releasing swarms of smaller craft' — adding further mystery to the still-unexplained intrusions over multiple US military bases.

His statements come amid the release of 50 pages of Air Force records related to provocative 'drone' incursions, that one general calls 'Close Encounters at Langley.'

For at least 17 nights last December, swarms of noisy, small UFOs were seen at dusk 'moving at rapid speeds' and displaying 'flashing red, green, and white lights' penetrating the highly restricted airspace above Langley Air Force Base in Virginia.

Senior ex-Pentagon security official Chris Mellon told DailyMail.com that the episode was 'part of a much larger pattern affecting numerous national security installations.'

'Two of the notable aspects,' he said, 'are the fact our drone signal-jamming devices have proven ineffective and these craft are making no effort to remain concealed.'

'In fact, in some instances,' as Mellon took pains to emphasize, 'it is clear they want to be seen as though taunting us.'

Mellon, who served as Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Intelligence under both Presidents Clinton and George W. Bush, told DailyMail.com that since last year's Langley events 'a similar series of intrusions has also occurred over Palmdale, CA.'

An hour's drive north of Los Angeles, Palmdale is home to defense contractor Lockheed Martin's classified 'Skunk Works,' makers of the F-22 Raptor stealth fighter.

A spokesperson for Edwards Air Force Base near Palmdale told The War Zone this August that investigators were 'monitoring' that situation to 'determine if there is any ill intent and, even if not, we are trying to find out why or who is doing it.'

Similar efforts are still underway on the east coast at Langley, but the commander of its Air Combat Command, General Mark Kelly, said the government is stumped.

The bizarre craft above Langley — home to at least half the Air Force's fleet of F-22 Raptors — led to two weeks of emergency White House meetings.

And over the past 10 months, Air Force investigators, local police and even NASA analysts operating the space agency's high-tech WB-57F research plane have all taken a crack at trying to identify the mysterious craft — with no answers in sight.

What would the US do, as General Kelly put it to the Wall Street Journal, 'if this happens over the National Mall?'

General Kelly said the unidentified craft appeared to be 20-ft long and were capable of flying over 100 miles-per-hour at an altitude between 3,000 and 4,000 feet.

The Journal noted an overlapping incident in which a University of Minnesota student and Chinese national, Fengyun Shi, was caught photographing US Navy vessels under construction in nearby Norfolk, Virginia, via commercial drone.

But the amateurish incident, for which Shi was sentenced to six months in federal prison, appears to be unrelated to the sophisticated squadrons of mystery craft.

'I make no claims regarding their origin, perhaps many are Chinese drones,' Mellon told DailyMail.com.

'But their brazenness, range, flight duration, reliability, resistance to countermeasures and indifference to detection are confounding.'

'In some cases "mother ships" have been reported,'
according to Mellon, who also managed security and information operations for part of his time at the Pentagon.

These 'mother ships,' Mellon clarified, were 'extremely fast larger vehicles that have been observed collecting or releasing swarm of smaller craft.'

One such 'mother ship' case was investigated by Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Special Agent Michael Bumberger over Nebraska, government records show.

Local sheriff's reported seeing 30 to 50 unusual craft flying independently of one another, with a larger 'mother ship' hovering nearby for hours.

At Langley last December, Air Force personnel equipped with 'dronebusters' — signal-jamming weaponry designed to counter remotely piloted enemy drones — reported that these mysterious craft 'failed to register' on their anti-drone devices.

One witness reported being unable to use their dronebuster 'due to not having a visual.'

Their testimony was released via the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), first published by the Liberation Times on Monday.

In one December 6, 2023 encounter detailed in the FOIA documents, a Langley witness described serious aerial penetrations above a parking and servicing area for base aircraft, known as the Flight Line.

'I spotted nine (09) drones in diamond formation flying over [redacted] heading towards the flight line,' the witness stated.

'[Redacted] and I followed the swarm onto the flight line where we lost visual of the swarm over the bay.'

Amid this frenzy of activity, NASA's Langley Research Center was also conscripted to aid in the effort to hunt down and identify these mystery drones.

NASA's WB-57F, according a research center spokesperson, 'provided additional imaging support' as it circled the base on December 18 and 19, 2023.

'The activation of a specialized NASA aircraft, equipped with what may be the most sophisticated airborne camera system in the world, suggests that the US government was truly baffled by these incidents,' said former Obama-era Pentagon appointee and frequent columnist at The Hill, Marik Von Rennenkampff.

Typically, there are four cameras total on the nose of NASA's WB-57F jets, each tailored to pick up specific 'colors' or wavelengths of the electromagnetic spectrum.

Some of those wavelengths, like mid-wave infrared, cannot be measured from the ground, because much of it is absorbed by gases and particles in the atmosphere.

Von Rennenkampff expressed skepticism that the objects will prove to be foreign espionage platforms, given the ostentatious, showy nature of their flights.

'The multiple, consistent reports of bright, flashing lights and formation flying suggest that some actor — be it a drone operator or otherwise — was putting on a show of impunity, at considerable risk, over a key military facility,' he noted.

'If this was a foreign intelligence gathering operation,' he continued, 'the brazen nature of the incursions makes it some of the worst collection tradecraft imaginable.'

While still remaining agnostic about the solution to these alarming national security mysteries, some of America's most scientifically minded UFO investigators told DailyMail.com that they suspect culprits closer to home.

Electrical engineer John Tedesco, who runs a mobile lab affiliated with Harvard's Galileo Project, told DailyMail.com: 'I would tend to agree with Marik Von Rennenkampff that these are not from a foreign entity.'

'Some obvious telling signs, such as the engine noise generated, altitude, and travel velocity, make me believe this is some locally staged activity,' Tedesco advised.

Richard Hoffman, an information technology specialist at the Army's Redstone Arsenal who has worked on projects to counter drone incursions at US military bases noted that solving the mystery poses major technical and bureaucratic hurdles.

'We are in the process of fielding countermeasures at sensitive DoD [Department of Defense] locations, but it requires coordination with the [Federal Communications Commission] FCC, FAA and others to deploy them,' Hoffman told DailyMail.com.

'Concerns about frequencies that could interfere with public and commercial uses has been an issue,' he noted. 'There are documented cases where GPS on commercial aircraft has been affected near military bases.'

Outside of his official duties, Hoffman is also a co-founder of the nonprofit, Scientific Coalition for UAP Studies, devoted to studying 'unidentified aerial phenomena,' once called UFOs.

'It is also a concern that these drones are using frequencies not used by traditional drones,' he said.

'It rules out commercial drones from within the US, which are regulated.'

Officials at Langley would appear to agree, admitting that the December 2023 'drone' swarms proved to be impossible to pin down.

The rogue fleets of small aircraft would disappear into thin air each night despite being hunted by the best hardware the Air Force and NASA had on hand
.

The episodes were 'so sustained and disruptive that an entire fighter wing had to be relocated to another base,' according to Mellon, who wrote about the case in May.

General Glen VanHerck, the commander with North American Aerospace Defense (NORAD) Command, who led the mission to takedown the infamous Chinese spy balloon back in February 2023, described these Langley cases as unlike any other.

General VanHerck said he had personally ordered jet fighters and other aircraft to fly close enough to these drones to pick up some visual clues.

Ultimately, the general advised Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin to authorize a full battery of electronic eavesdropping equipment to get to the bottom of this case, but he acknowledged that strict rules govern the use of this tech over US soil.

Nevertheless, VanHerck said: 'If there are unknown objects within North America... go out and identify them.'
Clearly then, the NJ 'drone swarm' is just another, perhaps larger-scale, expression of the same phenomenon as the above one from Langley, Virginia exactly one year ago.

We've posted several articles on the Langley AFB 'drone swarm' (and related incidents) on Sott over the last year:

I'm posting this here because it strikes me as being an interesting 'bellweather' to see a 'normie-liberal' type 'bite' and accept as real what was once considered lunacy by her kind (ET presence on Earth).
To me, the PTB is inciting fear,
you have a giant load of hysteria that confuses everything
Wright-Patterson Air Force Base closed its airspace for 4 hours because of drones
'In 2025, a new branch of the military will appear in Russia – the Unmanned Systems Forces' – Russian Defense Minister Belousov.
Wow - the more this situation develops, the more mind-boggling it gets! Some thoughts:

I watched a compilation video that had several recordings of strange aerial phenomenon including another example of drones shooting different from the one Niall posted. A drone supposedly spraying something into the atmosphere was among the examples. However, it also included the debunked altered vid of someone shooting at a drone. This made me doubt the legitimacy of the entire video. I think we can agree there are those that delight in posting vids that are clearly hoaxes in order to make fun of the gullible or to just "stir the pot." But, are they random or a purposeful intent by proxy to incite mass hysteria? And no doubt this activity is a major distraction from all the other activities that have dominated the news cycle for weeks/months including the Gaza genocide, the losing war in Ukraine, and the collapse of Assad's Syria. Mission accomplished? And speaking of inciting mass hysteria, particularly with the spraying vid in mind, there's an article saying people in NJ are becoming ill!

Can't help but wonder about the "swarm" aspect of the drones. One naturally associates insects with swarming (locust, flies, bees, ants - and let's not forget the biblical association also) and they can actually kill large animals:
After Hurricane Laura, mosquito swarms killed cows, horses, deer, and other livestock in Louisiana.

Wiki: Predator confusion is sufficient to evolve swarming behaviour. As a term, swarming is applied particularly to insects, but can also be applied to any other entity or animal that exhibits swarm behaviour.
Although some insects are hardly dangerous by themselves, almost all species pose a major threat when they swarm. Even insects that normally pose little or no threat to humans and animals can be a destructive force when they swarm in large numbers. Here's a look at some of the most dangerous insect swarms known to man
And then there's this:
In addition to training bees to the call of duty, the Department of Defense has also modeled their training of humans after the behavior of the buzzing arthropods. When bees swarm, they demonstrate mobility, flexibility, adaptability—highly desirable traits in wartime operations. They are able to execute missions with no central decision maker and no preordained pattern of attack, making them difficult to control. The goal of swarming “is to overwhelm any cohesive defenses that might be mustered,” writes John Arquilla, a military advisor and the author of “Swarming and the Future of Conflict.” The same tactics, he reasons, could be applied in military theater.
So, swarming can be an effective attack strategy and is that why drone swarms have appeared?

"sensitive material" possibly nuclear, search claim again
And what to make of this - a convenient cover story?

U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Releases Report Confirming Radioactive Material Lost in Transit Shipping Container Arrives Damaged and Empty in New Jersey
The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) has confirmed that radioactive material was lost in transit earlier this month, heightening fears about public safety and sparking theories about mysterious drone activity in New Jersey.

I imagine while I've been composing this post, even more stuff has happened. Where's the icon for head spinning? :umm:

Richard Dolan sent me to this clip - WILD!

From Phoenix Arizona, Dec 14th

I've read an interesting comment on reddit about this:
This is exactly what Ive been talking about in other subs.. The real phenomenon are the orbs not the drones. The drones are military. The government either infested the skies with drones to take the public's focus away from the orbs (which are being spotted much more rarely than the drones) or to use the drones for surveillance of the orbs. Or both. But those drones we keep seeing "that look like airplanes" are military operated. Those red orbs are the real mystery. And I bet they are filtering those videos out of social media with their censorship. Luckily a few of them slips through like this one.

So I have been following this topic and have no idea of what or why the purpose of the drones are. But it is very unusual.

I live in an elderly complex building in Massachusetts USA and this morning my neighbor across the hall called me and said that yesterday evening around 8:00 PM or so, her daughter called her and said to look out your window Mom, because she just saw three drones flying by her house and they were headed our way!!! The daughter took pics or video (I don't remember) but my neighbor got out her phone and captured video of the three drones flying by her window!!! And apparently the police came and spoke with her. I'm not sure of the exact time, yesterday, Sunday. I didn't ask, but it was dark and my shades were already pulled down.

This was all some of the residents were talking about this morning!!! Although I have no idea what these things are being used for, my neighbor had an idea. And I mention it because I think that what she said was kind of an interesting idea. My neighbor said she thought that these drones were being used by Amazon to create a highway in the sky!!! Basically, Amazon would be using the drones to map out flight patterns that they would be able to use for delivering cargo/packages for orders placed, and/or to warehouse drop off stations around areas to save money on transportation costs, gas, salaries etc.!!!

I have no idea what the real answer or purpose for all this drone activity. But never thought these drones would be flying right over my little insignificant home space here. But we do have a small airport nearby so ..... Go figure!!!

What a fascinating discussion! Initially I thought it was obviously a weapons systems flex by the US as a natural response to the Oreshnik but it appears to be much much more complicated than that. Pretty much every angle I can think of has been well covered except the, "Sensitive material search".

"sensitive material" possibly nuclear, search claim again

Presumably, if this angle has any merit, they are searching for a nuclear weapon. Which if that were the case, it would be Mossad's doing. So thinking this through, Mossad is threatening the US for what purpose? They really really need to open up the war before Trump takes office? If there was a nuke hanging out somewhere with someone interested in legitimately setting it off, it would explain 4D drone interest. That is my best attempt to flesh out the "sensitive materials search" angle. Pretty far out and IMO can be crossed off as a possibility.

On a different note, Trump sort of laughing at the drone question struck me. He certainly did not seem terribly concerned which would give weight to this being a domestic weapons system test assuming whatever he was told was at least mostly accurate.

I know I said I would not give much more energy to this, but I was thinking we might be seeing next level stealth drones- with all the recent developments in materials technology it seems it would be no big deal to build drones with next generation stealth capabilities able to hide their heat signatures, electromagnetic fields and silent operations. It stands to reason these would be tested in an urban environment if they are going to be used for reconnaissance purposes. They are displaying the running lights so domestic and private aircraft can avoid them. At least in part. There are other aspects of this phenomenon which are a bit more complicated and difficult to explain, but for the most part I am with others this is highly developed 3D tech.

I would think that this could be a distraction at first glance but...
having watched Clif Highs' YouTube video about the temporal marker of Joe Rogan and Trump in which he said that after this marker roughly 39 days later we would see UFOs or drones (I don't remember which he specified] swarming military bases. They would also be fighting each other, which would become a melee.

As an aside, I am fascinated by the web bot that Clif has devised but I often question his interpretations.
However this time the marker did manifest and now we are seeing something akin to what he predicted.

Could it be that some of these are of 4d origin, specifically the orbs. Possibly 3d players are sending their toys out to confuse the issue or to cover it up as just being drones. This could explain the lights as they would need them to be seen.

At the time of viewing the Clif High video [Oct. 30th], it came to mind that the Cs had spoken of alien wars in the skies.

It's all fascinating,. I really don't know what to make of it yet. Time to make some more popcorn and enjoy the show.

I wonder if there is also the element in play of the observer having an affect on the phenomenon.

Awareness of UAPs is growing exponentially - in terms of potential greater mainstream acceptance, disclosures, whistleblowers with more credibility, social media making sharing witness accounts easier to find and harder to eradicate. The greater awareness, or openness to the phenomenon could in turn have an effect of increasing events.

The Cs once mentioned an incident involving a plane found in the ocean - and how the expectations of the observers changed what they were seeing.

With the current chaos increasing, it's certainly harder to discern the truth of things we observe. Definitely an interesting show, whoever is responsible!!

Presumably, if this angle has any merit, they are searching for a nuclear weapon. Which if that were the case, it would be Mossad's doing. So thinking this through, Mossad is threatening the US for what purpose?

That's one possibility to keep in mind, if they indeed search for sensitive materials. If Europe has hidden nukes, why not do something similar in US to ensure continuous cooperation. If they indeed lost radioactive material, then it could explain all the "human made" drone activity and the secrecy around it.

But it still doesn't add up with the fact that the first drone sightings began on the 18th of November. So just to speculate on the possibility of this being MIC testing after all :-D, maybe "losing radioactive material" is part of the testing. Especially since in the comments there is an explanation that this missing material is not particularly hazardous at all.

THIS MATERIAL EVENT CONTAINS A 'Less than Cat 3' LEVEL OF RADIOACTIVE MATERIAL

Sources that are "Less than IAEA Category 3 sources," are either sources that are very unlikely to cause permanent injury to individuals or contain a very small amount of radioactive material that would not cause any permanent injury. Some of these sources, such as moisture density gauges or thickness gauges that are Category 4, the amount of unshielded radioactive material, if not safely managed or securely protected, could possibly - although it is unlikely - temporarily injure someone who handled it or were otherwise in contact with it, or who were close to it for a period of many weeks. For additional information go to http://www-pub.iaea.org/MTCD/publications/PDF/Pub1227_web.pdf

But maybe it can be used for detection purposes. And maybe it has no relation what so ever...

But then it still doesn't explain why some of the objects look like "real" ufos. The only thing that comes to mind, if this scenario has marit, that the "real" ufos are there because it has to do with nuclear materials. They do their regular monitoring, like they did in other locations. 🤷‍♀️
