The Living Force
I heard yesterday that between 150-200 cables are damaged/severed annually in the Baltic sea (according reporter Röper in St. Petersburg in the series “Tacheles mit Röper und Stein” )
Apparently a very common occurrence.
(Sounds like a high number, though. I am trying to find the soundbite again where Röper spoke about it. If the number was for the Baltic Sea or globally)
Annually 150-200 damaged cables in the Baltic Sea
(re-check)
I re-checked the section where Thomas Röper speaks about that 150-200 cables being annually damaged. He doesn't mention Baltic Sea in the same sentence - but the whole subject revolves around Baltic Sea cable damages. Nobody ever cared about this subject, until the West suddenly found it - conveniently vital - to blame Russia.
The section where Thomas Röper and Robert Stein talks about broken/damaged cables in the Baltic Sea, starts at 1h, 50' 45" (in german language). YT translation available.
