Mechanical Man ...

7 too! but then Tomato (probably because I saw Oxajil's post before doing the test) fun though.

I picked 7 also, but probably because Imeness speculated about the 12 - 5 thingy.

So I picked 7 and brussel sprouts. :scared:

Hmmmm. :/

I'm a bit green, but have lost my last intended post by navigating away from here and loosing my post (does this happen to most newbies?) so I'm starting again :-[ , a bit later and more tired!
May be you get to 7 by habitually doing sums. You get to 7 by using the outer numbers (12 and 5 which are in full view) to do a sum (consciencely or otherwise) and get an answer that satisfies the limits.
I have no idea why fixating on six gets you to carrots.
Is there a comercial where carrots=6? Is this some cointelpro manifestation? Do we here think with a hammer? Is 666 related to carrots?
I can't find any mechanism in the "Aha! Jokes" site that allows comment or feedback (haven't signed up tho) so can't see how evidence of who may (at least 98% of participants) have passed. Does passed mean 7+carrots?
nicelbleu
I haven't so far come across a person who hasn't "passed" this test - would be interesting to see what distinguished such a person from the 98% of the remainding population.

Please don't take this seriously

11 + asparagus

Because my wife cooks this veggie(?) alot,
so perhaps two of them are probably growing
behind my head (My Favorite Martian?)

8 and a potato (but then I wasn't sure if it was a vegetable and now I'm not sure if I said that because I read some other answers 1st!) lol.

I could imagine, that there is a cultural influence. Thought that it would be interesting to translate this test into different languages and see, if the results are different as well. Probably depends under which brain part's influence this is all happening - or as mkrnhr suggested, is it all cultural?

potatoes,...... :)....first thought, ..........6, settled on 8....................
