I got my sauna from promolife and I've had the burn problem too. It burned the outer section, but not the inside and didn't go through the bed or anything. So it wasn't as bad as Slowone's burn. This was about 6 months ago.

Promolife and Get-Fitt could be using the same manufacturer ...what's the number on yours?

Re: FIR Sauna Burning Problem

My serial number is AP 0012988. Here are the photos of my blanket:

I'm thinking it might be helpful if everyone with a FIR blanket posted their serial numbers and the date purchased...whether they're defective or not? It might show a pattern if we could compare the serial numbers on the defective blankets with the serial numbers on blankets that have gotten heavy use and not showed any sign of damage?

Defective blankets so far:

Re: FIR Sauna Burning Problem

Sorry, I haven't been paying attention to this thread lately. Our serial number is C20017769, but the burn mark we've got on our IR blanket is so tiny, that I'm not going to ask for a replacement. Before you started mentioning these problems, I could not really make the connection to it being a burn mark. It looks more like someone has stained it with the tip of a brown felt pen. Anyway, we'll keep using it but pay careful attention at what happens. I'm glad the rest of you seem to be getting working replacements from Get-FITT.

C20026442 I bought it from Promolife about 2 years ago. After seeing the thread I did a thorough inspection.
Looks ok. No signs of burns.

There are some signs of wear to the vinyl but should last another year or so.

I hate to to sound like "Dr Doom" trollet, but if it was my blanket I would lightly draw a circle in felt tip around the edge of any brown spots already there, and check it after each use. If I noticed the size increasing I would ask for a replacement blanket before it got any worse.

We were lucky not to get a very serious burn, and when I packed the old blanket up to return it I noticed other brown spots developing

Take care,

Al
