Migun, Far Infrared, and Negative Ion Therapy

Re: FIR Sauna Burning Problem

I have been inspecting my blanket before each use and found burn mark. The blanket serial number is AP0013255. I will give Promolife a call tomorrow. My blanket is over a year old. I will keep you posted with the results of my telephone call.

Does anyone know if the root causes of the problems with the sauna blankets from Mark (get-fitt) are fixed? What did he tell you?

I consider to buy one, but in the light of these amount of defective blankets it could be a quite expensive experiment and maybe a wooden FIR sauna would be a better investment. (even it is much more expensive)

From my experience, and the experience of others, if there is a problem - and it is probably fixed by now - Mark is only too willing to replace it free of charge. Plus, if you buy from Mark, you get a lot of advice at the beginning on using the sauna, tailored to you. From my perspective, it has proved a worthy experiment. :)

Hi Kila,

If you live in the US, promolife is a good one to get. If you live in the US and get one from the UK you will have to get an adapter because the plugs won't plug into US outlets and the shipping will probably be a bit expensive.

If you live in the UK or Europe, then the place that Vulcan59 refers you to is the way to go, or so I think. :)

The blankets from promolife and Get-Fitt are not equal. Unfortunatly, the product from Get-Fitt ist nearly more than twice as much in the price (440 Pounds/570 Euros) as the Promolife blanket (around 300 Euros, depending on shipping costs)

I just don't know which one I should prefer. The generel information about both are the same (heat, time, temperature, etc.) but Get-Fitt told me that the Promolife blanket is not the same blanket they sale. Viewing the photos, I would prefer Get-Fitts' one, it seems to have better quality.

I did a lot of research into the Far-Infrared-Topic and I came to the conclusion that a wooden sauna from HighTechHealth for around 4000 dollars seems to be the best. But, of course, this is a lot of money and I need a portable thing. (But there are also wooden saunas available around 1500 dollars.)

I was talking with Promolife and they said if you want to have a good detox-sauna you have to buy the dome for 3500 dollars. All products which are cheaper, for example the blanket, come from china and there are low quality heaters in it. They couldn't even promise me or give me a document which proves that these sauna emits far-infared rays.

So in the end I am a little bit frustrated because I don't know which decision (and it is important because regardless what I buy, it is a lot of money) is the best for me.

I would prefer the blanket from Promolife because of the price, but if it is worthless there is no reason to give away a few hundred euros. Maybe it would be better to buy one from Get-Fitt but it is the same there, you don't know what you buy and where the blanket was manufactured, and by whom.

Do anyone of you have experiences with both blankets and can tell something about the differences?

Do you happen to have the serial number?

The original problem appeared to be caused by a crimper that looked to be about 1/16 of an inch off during a production run. I would expect that they've corrected the problem by now, and responsible retailers like Get-Fitt have returned the defective lots to the manufactures.

I wouldn't be so sure about other companies like "Promolife" considering their initial response to the problem.

I've called Get-Fitt and they told me it is indeed corrected since last year. But, of course, if it will happen in the future you get a new one even your one-year warranty is over.

Right.. but there product is cheaper, you know ;) You can almost buy two blankets for the price of Get-Fitts one. (Also see my post in this thread)

Re: FIR Sauna Burning Problem

I've had a promolife sauna blanket for over two years and used it a lot and never had a hint of a problem with it - just fyi.

Same here - same model and length of time, no problems.

Re: FIR Sauna Burning Problem

Just a note that my defective blanket was replaced immediately by Get-Fitt when I emailed them about it. Sorry for not updating earlier.

Re: FIR Sauna Burning Problem

DO we have discount ? to order it ?

In next week I am making order .

Re: FIR Sauna Burning Problem

I'm also in the market for a sauna blanket. It seems most people on this thread who are in North America bought theirs from Promolife. Is this a recommended company, then? I'm up in Canada. Any recommendations appreciated.

Just some general information: Honestly, if you have enough money you should consider to buy a Sauna from HighTechHealth or Sunlighten as recommend by Mark Hyman. Or the Sauna Dome from Promolife. With "enough" I mean 2000 - 4000 $.

Unfortunately there is no data available which shows the material those blanketes are made from and which heaters they use. The only thing we know is that the people who are using those blankets have improved their health, so maybe it couldn't be a complete bad thing to buy a cheap blanket, especially if you have to spend our money carefully. At the moment I am also comparing... it's really a difficult decision, isn't it?
