Music Collaboration

Breton! bro! That should be track 1 on the cass album. It's too perfect. A lovely contribution.

I really like it Breton. Powerful quotes and the music really enhances them. I really really like it. Great idea!

The recording of your voice is good too: present, intelligible, "in front", without too much basses (can be a problem when putting the microphone too close to the mouth)

I don't especially hear the room's reflections and if there are some, the music masks them.

Reducing volume on the music when necessary to keep the narration audible is very good idea too.

Kudos

:cool2:

PS: your voice reminds me of JFK's voice

Wow Breton, I really liked that! :wow:

Well, I should probably first say that I loved the collaboration between Abstract and Nomad. I've saved it and play it very often. I just listened to mkrnhr now, and it is beautiful. It is so melodic I could listen to it for hours.
Now your words added an extra texture to these works, I can see myself listening to this over and over. Your voice and diction are very clear, and I very much liked the way you "recited" your words, there was a depth to it that made words sink deeper as I heard them.

Thanks guys, great work!

edit: grammar

Great work guys!!

Breton, your voice is very crisp and clear. You have very good diction. Quote selection was very good as well. Hearing the words really drive home the meaning.

I think we've found a reader for some audiobooks. :D

abstract, Nomad, Breton, Mkrnhr, Mdm Salzmann (??)

Wow! I am really enjoying being a witness to this evolution.
This Collaboration is making the Work come alive and I am humbled and in awe of the creativity here!

My thoughts as well.

Let's not get too excited just yet, this is only our first little bit of the project!

I'm thinking we might need to get more organized with this collaboration. We set up certain days to do EE, right? Why can't we set aside one day during the week to chip in ideas??

Even if we are all strapped for time, I can say with confidence that even if I'm busy i can find ten minutes to play around on guitar.

I also thought that we should put this http://www.cassiopaea.org/forum/index.php?topic=15086.0 into the "cass album" as well. Just anything related to the work

that is done with music and cleanly recorded could be put in there. Feedback, por favor! :P

Ha you make me laugh! That is a good one!

Thanks for the feedback. Still, it seems after I posted it on the forum, and listened to them again, I felt my pace and flow could improve with practice. Any suggestions for improvements would be appreciated. I would be motivated to work on this, as maybe it could serve the forum or FOTCM or QFG at some point, too.

If a Cass Forum Collaboration Album would be made, as Abstract says, we can collect ideas. We can share ideas for making a variety of compositions. Pure music. Some singing. Some meditative quotations. Other things. Would this be a good thread for collecting them?

With all the different time zones, "real time" collaboration might be difficult.

Yes, sometimes it is beyond my understanding sometimes what motivates people to suddenly just "create" something. Like they just HAVE to do it. Even though my contribution is very slight, I have a taste of that feeling. When all sense would tell you get to bed already, kids are gonna be up at 7 am to get ready for school, but you are still tweaking and trying something that on the surface seems to benefit no one in your immediate circles. I suppose what that means is that activity does not serve the General Law! It seems for some people, in my circles, if an activity is not for survival or for profit then it is useless. Further, one might spend considerable time and it might not be successful, and have to be discarded, too. Which I am ok with!! Its part of learning. [This is one big school]

Would this be a good thread for collecting them?

I believe so, the thread is exactly that: to share ideas.

With all the different time zones, "real time" collaboration might be difficult.

True, but i never said we had to do that. It's very easy just to record any idea, post it to the thread, someone else adds to it, spins it around. There's no stress of having to come up with something right away, in front of people on the spot. I think we are all very creative, but we all have different tastes and that's why this music can turn out really cool!

It's truly amazing to see that nomad and breton could fathom so much potential from my little guitar licks.

I also like the fact that we all seem to want to let people be who they are creatively, and not just critique without contributing. I've been in bands before where the other guy always wants to beat around the bush about what i wrote (because its soooo horrible, not) instead of trying to add to the idea and give it dimension. I'm very appreciative of this mutual understanding we all seem to have. :)

In fact not exactly the tone (JFK is higher), but more the pace, the diction.

About improvement, i don't know, what about listening some JFK speeches?

Hmmm you may have a good idea. In some instances, this style, somewhat of a "matter of fact" and "proclaiming" style, could be an excellent choice!

An audio book narration would not use this style, probably. But shorter, poignant quotes, or even vignettes, might suit well.

Now Pierre, you have given me the idea that I could get technique ideas from some famous people who have made speeches or otherwise communicated their messages verbally.

Ok, while the creative juices are flowing, and before the General Law rears its ugly head to stifle them, let me offer an idea that is germinating in my head that maybe someone can build upon: The piece has a name, it is called "The Real Enemy of the Souls".

It will be a piece that introduces the forces of 4D STS. The reason for the title, is because religions all over the world have offered their fake "stand-in" for evil as part of the STS plan to keep themselves hidden.

I thought to have as the centerpiece the story of the Evil Magician by Gurdjieff.

Following the principle that "less is more" the selection may not need any additional quotes, but if it feels appropriate other quotes could be considered to strengthen the identity of the real enemy of souls. For some reason I thought of some RA material introduction to STS. This is now where other members reading this thread can offer some possibilities to choose from.

The thing is this: what music? And for some reason this kept coming to my mind: an STS song needs a electric guitar! It is hard for me to explain. However I think at a certain level, I think STS has worked with that kind of music and that instrument quite a lot in these modern times. Traditionally this is not strictly true, if one thinks how many beautiful and uplifting hymns that anyway ultimately propagate the lie that the Creator of the Universe requires reconciliation and has made some guy to die horribly on a cross to save us from damnation?

So... very roughly like this.

(Calmly and peaceful intro music starts, with perhaps, a somewhat ominous tone?)

A very rich magician had a great many sheep.

But at the same time this magician was very mean. He did not want to hire shepherds, nor
did he want to erect a fence about the pasture where his sheep were grazing.

The sheep consequently often wandered into the forest, fell into ravines, and so on, and above all they ran away, for they knew
that the magician wanted their flesh and skins and this they did not like.

At last the magician found a remedy.

(then the peaceful guitar turns into a driving, metal inspired, guitar solo! Driving hard riffs! -I don't know how long)

(Then, music changes again --I don't know how-- and story continues:

He hypnotized his sheep and suggested to them first of all that they were immortal and that no
harm was being done to them when they were skinned.

(pause for few seconds of some music)

On the contrary, it would be very good for them and even pleasant.

(pause for few seconds of some music)

Secondly he suggested that the magician was a good master who loved his flock so much that he was ready to do anything in the world for them.

(pause for few seconds of some music)

In the third place he suggested to them that if anything at all were going to happen to them it was not going to happen just then, at any rate not that day, and therefore they had no need to think about it.

(pause for few seconds of some music)

Further, the magician suggested to his sheep that they were not sheep at all; to some of them he suggested that they were lions, to others
that they were eagles, to others that they were men, and to others that they were magicians.

(pause possibly longer portion of some music)

And after this all his cares and worries about the sheep came to an end. They never ran away again but quietly awaited the time when the magician would require their flesh and skins.

(And some kind of ending - I did not think it through.)

Other quotes I might suggest following the theme, just to "throw them out there", and will probably belong in a different selection, I suspect.

Various places in RA material said:
The break becomes apparent when the entity perceives other-selves and consciously determines to manipulate other selves for the benefit of the self. this is the beginning of the negative path
...
The negatively oriented entity will program for maximal separation from and control overall those things and conscious entities it perceives as other than the self.
...
Such an entity may use an entire incarnative experience honing a blunt edge of hatred or anger so that it may polarize more towards the negative or separated pole.
...
The service-to-self choice is one which denies the very center of the spectrum, that being universal love.
...
Therefore all that is built is based on an omission. This omission shall manifest in 4th density as the love of self;
...
When 5th density has been achieved, the wisdom density is explored by entities which have no compassion, no universal love.

Ok, enough ideas for now, it is time to take the kids to choir practise! Then sing christmas carols! (sheesh!)

Quote from: Active Side of Infinity
"'I want to appeal to your analytical mind, ' don Juan said. 'Think for a moment, and tell me how you would explain the contradiction between the intelligence of man the engineer and the stupidity of his systems of beliefs, or the stupidity of his contradictory behavior. Sorcerers believe that the predators have given us our systems of beliefs, our ideas of good and evil, our social mores. They are the ones who set up our hopes and expectations and dreams of success or failure. They have given us covetousness, greed and cowardice. It is the predators who make us complacent, routinary, and egomaniacal.'

"'But how can they do this, don Juan?' I asked, somehow angered further by what he was saying. 'Do they whisper all that in our ears while we are asleep?'

"'No, they don't do it that way. That's idiotic!' don Juan said, smiling. 'They are infinitely more efficient and organized than that. In order to keep us obedient and meek and weak, the predators engaged themselves in a stupendous maneuver - stupendous, of course, from the point of view of a fighting strategist. A horrendous maneuver from the point of view of those who suffer it. They gave us their mind! Do you hear me? The predators give us their mind, which becomes our mind. The predators' mind is baroque, contradictory, morose, filled with the fear of being discovered any minute now.

Don Juan continues: "'I know that even though you have never suffered hunger... you have food anxiety, which is none other than the anxiety of the predator who fears that any moment now its maneuver is going to be uncovered and food is going to be denied. Through the mind, which, after all, is their mind, the predators inject into the lives of human beings whatever is convenient for them. And they ensure, in this manner, a degree of security to act as a buffer against their fear.'"

This may be a good quote to use on a audio re: STS. I like the Evil Magician story as well.

Oh right! I sort of cannot believe I missed this crucial STS quote from Castaneda, I have seen it on this site many times! Thanks!

Now we'll let this idea continue to coalesce...

Thanks Gertrudes :-[
Breton, it's an excellent idea and great work!
"The Real Enemy of the Souls" as you describe it sounds like an opera or a huge composition. Maybe with a central theme with different variations in one single piece of music. Do you have such a theme in mind? The other approach is to have different pieces of music, different compositions, that are related by lyrics? How do you imagine it?

Well, one idea is popping up. What about creating a fotcm/sott... creativity group, over yahoo.com for example? Where everybody could join in and there can be projects discussed and so on (to have free space and also to have a chance to be a little bit more private)...
Anyway, I like to write a BUT because I don't like to split the ideas/ongoing discussions from the open forum, because it would in some way exclude others and in addition needs supervision from mods and admins.
Maybe there is a chance of creating a subforum in this forum for these discussions, besides that "creative acts" already exists?

I guess things will work out.

My two cents.
