Another way to comfort yourself is remembering how lucky you are, both of you, that Safi passed away under natural circumstances. The way you described how she spent her last outdoor time and then how she let herself drop on her cushion, bespeaks of a very humble and dignified death. I also know how easy it is to feel we didn´t contribute enough in helping our pets once they´ve left us in earnest. That´s only too understandable and is just a way that seeks coping with the sadness that overwhelms us when our loves one depart.
