Here are filmed examples of very old Chinese women who had to go through the worst torture for the small feet fashion.
It's a Facebook Short in French. Trigger warning: Beware the faint of heart
I always thought it was just about binding the feet from a very young age... Nope! It's WAY worse:
Parents would break the toes (as in breaking the bones!!) of their baby girls, then wrap them tightly. Those girls would endure the worst pain for weeks and years. This practice lasted for 7 centuries!

In comparison, the Victorian corset only lasted for less than 100 years.
Those modern plastic surgeries look like cake compared to this.

Foot-binding in China
Time Period: Foot-binding
began around the 10th century (late Tang Dynasty) and continued until the early 20th century. It became widespread during the Song Dynasty (960–1279) and persisted through the Yuan, Ming, and Qing Dynasties. The practice started declining in the late 19th century due to social reforms and was largely eradicated by the 1940s after
being banned in 1912 following the fall of the Qing Dynasty.
Key Decades: Most prevalent from the 1200s to the 1890s, with a gradual decline until the 1940s.
Victorian Corset
Time Period: The corset was a prominent fashion item in Europe and North America during the Victorian era, roughly from the 1830s to the early 1900s. Its use peaked in the mid-to-late 19th century, particularly from the 1840s to the 1890s, when tight-lacing was most extreme to achieve the idealized hourglass figure.
Key Decades: 1830s–1900s, with the most intense use from the 1840s to the 1890s. Corsets began falling out of mainstream fashion by the early 20th century with the rise of more relaxed clothing styles.
