Oliver Stones "The Putin Interviews": Historic Documentary about Putin

Stone made the mistake of going on the Colbert show to talk about the interviews. Colbert is a complete moron, as are most members of his audience.

Yes, they even edited out one of the most truthful part of the interview:

http://russia-insider.com/en/politics/oliver-stone-israel-meddled-far-more-us-election-russia/ri20110

To CBS's shame, they edited out Stone's best comment of the evening. The New York Post's page 6 reports that:

Stone said words to the effect of: “Israel had far more involvement in the US election than Russia.”

The “Platoon” director further challenged Colbert by saying, “Why don’t you ask me about that?” — but we’re told that the host shot back, “I’ll ask you about that when you make a documentary about Israel!”

Apparently this sort of thinking, which is profoundly true, is more than Colbert and his neocon masters think the American public should be allowed to hear.

Maybe it wasn't a mistake on Stones part but rather an attempt to spread the movie as far and wide as possible even if that includes confronting BS artists like Colbert in the mainstream: bad press is better then no press one could say. I think Stone knows what he faces when he goes to shows like that. The "CBS morning Show" mentioned earlier, is another example. He has done that before as well with his other movies. He is really putting much effort in spreading it to a wider mainstream audience and the masters of those mainsteam stations in turn, don't realize that by "exposing Stone as a Putin troll" they will create even more interest in actually watching the movie.

Hats off to Stone for putting himself on the line like that, it certainly isn't easy! I think he is doing the right thing and it is admirable to see in my book.

They are shooting themselves royally in the foot by doing so. The movie is excellent in any way you look at it and them bashing it an its creator leads to the opposite. I even think that a lot of ordinary authoritarian followers who believe most of the propaganda will unconsciously recognize "a strong leader" while watching it and see how weak their own leaders really are compared to Putin, which isn't a bad thing either.

Colbert doesn't realize that he is the new conspiracy theorist with his anti-Russian stance.

For each 'joke' he makes. There is plenty of material available to get back at him, and I mean plenty.

Oliver Stone was expecting a decent conversation. That's the wrong approach. There is only one appropriate response to this guy. And that's burying him in his paranoid anti-Russian frenzy. While keeping it 'friendly' of-course.

In part 2, Putin said that if the U.S. anti-ballistic missiles are placed on land and sea around the Russian territory then they would essentially be encircled, and adding that Russia won't sit idly by.

Recently there were news about Russia testing their Zircon hypersonic maneuverable anti-ship missile.

https://www.rbth.com/defence/2017/04/26/zircon-russian-missile-may-render-us-aircraft-carriers-obsolete-750846

According to Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin, who was the first high-ranking official to confirm the very fact of the missile’s ongoing tests, Zircon belongs to “a totally new generation of weapons” and is “guaranteed to bypass anti-missile defense systems.

TOTALLY AGREE!

Kudos to Mr. Stone for having an open mind and for doing a good work in spreading the truth about US imperialism and giving a voice to true leaders like Putin who intentionally are being demonized by the western presstitutes. As for Colbert, i will say that while listening to him interviewing Oliver Stone it pissed me off, it got me mad as hell because of his stupidity and superficiality, it's clear to everyone who is not brainwashed by the mainstream media that this guy is just a paid troll who is following the TPTB line, he doesn't even deserve to get mad at him, it's just a waste of your own energy.

I would say it is probably more then just stupidity and superficiality on Colberts part. It is a deliberate tactic of ridiculing, defaming and framing Stone for his masters to paint him and Putin in a negative way. I would say pathological lying and twisting fits better here.

Stone was as careful as he could be in that interview, was trying to formulate what he was saying in as open and neutral way as possible, even though Colbert was immediately hostile and tried to pigeonhole Stone as often as possible in that the interview. Timotheos was pretty apt in saying that Colbert is a spellbinder. That much he is.

I think the correct thing to do is to give Stone some credit, support and acknowledgement for this movie. So I'm currently trying to figure out how to pay something back for what Stone has created there. I wasn't that successful though. Couldn't find a way to donate on his website and anywhere else either...

Anyone know where one can do that?

Personally, I would say anyone that feels that this movie is important and that Stone has done a great job, should at least pay something back. It will also give him more room to create more movies like this in the future.

I think that Oliver Stone has enough money to create whatever project he wants. Probably why he doesn't have a donation page. An e-mail to him, a message on his FB page, something like that expressing our thanks, our support and our admiration for his courage, will be worth much more to him I think.

Pashalis, thank you for making us aware of this documentary, I watched all 4 parts and I now like Putin as a man and stateman even more than before (and I didn't think it would be possible!) His values, his heart, his discipline and commitment and love of his country are so obvious in this documentary, as well as his sacrifices as a human being. And I think Oliver Stone is very brave indeed. He saw in Putin The Statesman, and worked on this project knowing what the results to him will be, who knows what it will cost him. But he felt that giving Putin through his own words to the American people was the decent and right thing to do, in this ever growing new cold/warm war between their two countries.
