Hi

I am doing some research on the web, so far the only science I have found about pulsed EMF is relating to bone growth. I'll continue to search but I was wondering if anyone here has had, or knows of someone who has had, experience with this technology? I am looking at the iMRS found here _http://pemfglobal.com/_
I have been keto for a while, occasionally snapping out of it but getting back in easy now. Besides intermittent fasting, I also work out with weights and I am dealing with an adrenal issue.
I was looking at the iMRS to re-ground my body, and reset my cells, possibly aiding my mitochondria/ATP and improving detox and assimilation of nutrients in my fat/protein/bone broth meals, as well as dealing with(repairing?) EMF pollution damage.
If you run across any research on PEMF, I would appreciate it if you could let us know.
Thanks.merci

Anarkist,
You may want to check out what Barrie Trower has to say on the subject. He has many interviews on YouTube. Grounding while barefooted on earth a good habit, 15 minutes is a good idea. discharges excess build up in the body. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZchahZaWM8Y

Some findings so far from PubMed
(I don't know if anyone else can access these links, as I am doing so through my local library on my account)

Fibromyalgia:
from _http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/24308025

Pain Res Manag. 2013 Nov-Dec;18(6):e101-6.Reduction of pain thresholds in fibromyalgia after very low-intensity magnetic stimulation: a double-blinded, randomized placebo-controlled clinical trial.Maestú C, Blanco M, Nevado A, Romero J, Rodríguez-Rubio P, Galindo J, Bautista Lorite J, de las Morenas F, Fernández-Argüelles P.AbstractBACKGROUND: Exposure to electromagnetic fields has been reported to have analgesic and antinociceptive(Ed. pain inhibition) effects in several organisms.OBJECTIVE: To test the effect of very low-intensity transcranial magnetic stimulation on symptoms associated with fibromyalgia syndrome.METHODS: A double-blinded, placebo-controlled clinical trial was performed in the Sagrado Corazón Hospital, Seville, Spain. Female fibromyalgia patients (22 to 50 years of age) were randomly assigned to either a stimulation group or a sham group. The stimulation group (n=28) was stimulated using 8 Hz pulsed magnetic fields of very low intensity, while the sham group (n=26) underwent the same protocol without stimulation. Pressure pain thresholds before and after stimulation were determined using an algometer during the eight consecutive weekly sessions of the trial. In addition, blood serotonin levels were measured and patients completed questionnaires to monitor symptom evolution.RESULTS: A repeated-measures ANOVA indicated statistically significant improvement in the stimulation group compared with the control group with respect to somatosensory pain thresholds, ability to perform daily activities, perceived chronic pain and sleep quality. While improvement in pain thresholds was apparent after the first stimulation session, improvement in the other three measures occurred after the sixth week. No significant between-group differences were observed in scores of depression, fatigue, severity of headaches or serotonin levels. No adverse side effects were reported in any of the patients.CONCLUSIONS: Very low-intensity magnetic stimulation may represent a safe and effective treatment for chronic pain and other symptoms associated with fibromyalgia.

blood flow to the brain (in light of recent SOTT Health & Wellness show where it was mentioned that vascular(blood flow) problems may be the cause of brain problems rather than changes in neurons)
I wonder about the apoptotic affects, as I figure I would want cells that should die, to die. On the other hand perhaps the apoptotic affect is due the cells being "rebooted" and becoming healthy and so do not need to die and be recycled?

Transl Stroke Res. 2014 Aug;5(4):491-500. doi: 10.1007/s12975-014-0334-1. Epub 2014 Feb 20.Effect of pulsed electromagnetic field (PEMF) on infarct size and inflammation after cerebral ischemia(Ed. poor blood flow in brain) in mice.Pena-Philippides JC1, Yang Y, Bragina O, Hagberg S, Nemoto E, Roitbak T.Author informationAbstractPulsed electromagnetic fields (PEMF) have been demonstrated to have anti-inflammatory and pro-regenerative effects in animals and humans. We used the FDA-approved Sofpulse (Ivivi Health Sciences, LLC) to study effect of PEMF on infarct size and poststroke inflammation following distal middle cerebral artery occlusion (dMCAO) in mice. Electromagnetic field was applied within 30-45 min after ischemic brain damage and utilized twice a day for 21 consecutive days. Ischemic infarct size was assessed using MRI and histological analysis. At 21 days after dMCAO, the infarct size was significantly (by 26%) smaller in PEMF-treated animals as compared to controls. Neuroinflammation in these animals was evaluated using specialized cytokine/chemokine PCR array. We demonstrate that PEMF significantly influenced expression profile of pro- and anti-inflammatory factors in the hemisphere ipsilateral to ischemic damage. Importantly, expression of gene encoding major pro-inflammatory cytokine IL-1α was significantly reduced, while expression of major anti-inflammatory IL-10 was significantly increased. PEMF application significantly downregulated genes encoding members of the major pro-apoptotic tumor necrosis factor (TNF) superfamily indicating that the treatment could have both anti-inflammatory and anti-apoptotic effects. Both reduction of infarct size and influence on neuroinflammation could have a potentially important positive impact on the poststroke recovery process, implicating PEMF as a possible adjunctive therapy for stroke patients.PMID:24549571 [PubMed - indexed for MEDLINE]

back pain
from _http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/24564041
  • Abstract
Send to: West Indian Med J. 2013 Mar;62(3):205-9.Evaluation of the efficacy of pulsed electromagnetic therapy in the treatment of back pain: a randomized controlled trial in a tertiary hospital in Nigeria.Oke KI1, Umebese PF2.Author informationAbstractMusculoskeletal system disorders (MSDs) are amongst the most commonly encountered problems in orthopaedics and physiotherapy practice all over the world and back pain is amongst the most prevalent of musculoskeletal presentations encountered in clinical practice. The attendant deformities, huge economic loss among many other sequelae on the affected individuals have always informed the search for cost-effective treatment modalities that are non-invasive and are devoid of or at least have minimal side effects. This randomized controlled trial was conducted to assess the therapeutic efficacy of the use of a non-pharmacological device [pulsed electromagnetic field (PEMF)] modality in the treatment of back pain. A total of 16 patients (mean age: 42.82 +/- 8.63 years) with back pain without radiculopathy who met the inclusion criteria were purposively enrolled in the study. Patients were randomly assigned into two groups. Group A had eight patients treated with PEMF plus medications (analgesics, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory - diclofenac sodium) while the eight patients in group B were treated with only standard medications. The PEMF device was applied in group A four times a day for the period the patients were admitted (maximum of nine days). Measured outcome parameters were reduction in pain as assessed with numeric pain rating scale (NPRS) and improvement in functional ability status as assessed with functional activity scale (FAS). Obtained data were analysed with paired and independent t-test to test the significant efficacy of the treatment outcomes in the two groups. There was a statistically significant faster pain relief and resumption of active functions in patients treated with PEMF plus analgesic compared with the rates exhibited by patients treated with standard analgesics alone. These results suggest that PEMF therapy is beneficial in reducing pain and disability in patients with back pain and should be made part of holistic cape for back pain. Further studies using PEMF on larger patient populations are advocated to further confirm the efficacy of PEMF therapy in back pain management.PMID:24564041 [PubMed - indexed for MEDLINE]

Problems with some PEMF mats ( I have sent an enquiry to iMRS)
from _http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/25639237
  • Abstract
Send to: Bioelectromagnetics. 2015 Feb;36(2):149-61. doi: 10.1002/bem.21894. Epub 2015 Jan 16.Human exposure from pulsed magnetic field therapy mats: A numerical case study with three commercial products.De Santis V1, Douglas M, Nadakuduti J, Benkler S, Chen XL, Kuster N.Author informationAbstractA previous study found that incident magnetic field exposure from pulsed magnetic field therapy (PMFT) mats can exceed ICNIRP 1998 reference levels. Due to the popularity of PMFT mats for private therapeutic use, regulators need to know if the products are compliant with the basic restrictions and how overexposure can be determined. This case study's objective was to test if such products are intrinsically compliant with ICNIRP 1998 and ICNIRP 2010 basic restrictions by evaluating three different commercially-available PMFT products. In the first step, experimentally validated numerical models of these mats were developed. As a second step, the induced fields were evaluated in high-resolution anatomical models of the IT'IS Virtual Population for various lying positions and compared to the safety guidelines. As expected, a strong influence of exposure on the PMFT design, anatomy, lying position and body orientation was found. The maximum exposure of one PMFT exceeds 3.1 times the basic restrictions of ICNIRP 1998 for the central nervous system tissues and 1.36 times the limit of ICNIRP 2010 for the peripheral tissues. Body loops can significantly increase the electric fields close to the skin, e.g., when the hand and thigh are in contact during mat use. In conclusion, PMFT products are not intrinsically compliant with ICNIRP 1998 and ICNIRP 2010 basic restrictions and therefore require special considerations. Seeing as pulsed EMF is simply application of a square wave or a variation of that, you might like to check out the books of a microbiologist, Dr. Hulda Regehr Clark, which are available on the internet, you might even be able to source a free download.
She, together with her son, invented a device called the 'zapper'.
All the build details and the usage information is in the books she wrote.

Thanks for the pointer Music Man.
I am actually reading her huge PDF file/book right now! It has all the plans for various devices, and a lot of information.
I bought a zapper from http://zapperplans.com/
I am not sure how effective it is. I did two treatments.
The first treatment with the zapper was between my left and right hands, 10 minutes on, 20 minute rest, etc
the second treatment was between my left foot(toes) and my right hand, and between my right foot and left hand for the same time periods.
No effects were noticed.
I am going to try another treatment, making sure my battery is at 9 volts, using left to right feet, left to right hand, and left foot to right hand and right foot to left hand,
and maybe left earlobe to right earlobe!

Something has occurred to me and that is the effect of using the earths frequency to help 'resuscitate' the frequency and health of my bodies cells, when I am also attempting to 'raise' my frequency to be of assistance in anchoring the coming frequency change. This is possibly where the material science meets esoteric science. In that regard, possibly entering a PEMField at Schumann resonance may hinder or negate any changes in my own frequency and/or DNA?
Anyone have any thoughts on this?

Some of the frequencies you may select can be deleterious to the human body.
I suggest you do your research first before attempting anything near the schumann resonance.

Dr. Clark had a list of the suitable frequencies for the various organisms that parasitize us, don't forget that once you kill them you need to flush the debris out of your kidneys and liver.
She had protocols for that too.

SOTT article dated 5/12/2008 - "A 21st Century View of the Benefits of Therapeutic Electromagnetism"

FWIW Naturally occurring SR in daily doses being outdoors has been my personal therapy for decades; it's cheap AND easy. Taking that to another level

whether naturally or mechanically sounds intriguing.

By the way, SR is basically identical to our brain waves (Alpha). Hiking through the mountains here immersed in earth's "brain waves" is a favorite therapy.

Thanks for the reply Music Man,
I am wondering what you mean about attempting anything near the Schumann resonance, since I thought that is the resonance I experience naturally whenever I am in the wild (camping, etc).
I actually think I will have very limited control of the frequencies, as I understand it the basic frequency of the unit I am looking at is the Schumann resonance.

hey! absolutely! I certainly take ease in wilderness settings, camping, hiking, canoeing and such, rejuvenating myself far from any cell towers!
Unfortunately I live in a city, with electrosmog, and was looking for a way to protect my energetic magnetic field, and aid in assimilation of nutrients, healing organs and systems in my body.

Thanks for pointing out the great article, I have read similar things by this author and by others, doing research on PEMF. I was wondering if anyone had experience with with PEMF, or if anyone had any thoughts on how using such a device would affect frequency changes.
I have been reflecting on it and I think I may have let some fear about that 'frequency' question obscure my thinking. Resetting my frequency to the earths would help me heal, although my problems do not appear to be deep, and so in the end make me more available for, and useful to, others.

I personally would be hesitant to experiment with a machine such as this. That being said, mention was made on another thread about a device that plugs

into the ground portion only of a 3-prong AC outlet, thereby connecting to earth's field of energies. Don't know if this is off topic but it is something that

I intend to investigate further.

Thanks for initiating this topic as it has been near and dear to my heart for decades. It's been only recently that I have been discovering the science

behind the processes. "Never be a slave to the weather" is a favorite mantra! So for now, time for me to don those hiking boots! (and grab my smokes)

Any thoughts on BEMER product? (not exactly Pulsed EMF - microcirculation)

Some friends just asked me if I had any opinions about a device (or devices) and therapy they are being introduced to, and encouraged to buy (but very expensive - we are talking about amounts like 4000 USD or 4000 EUR) called the BEMER Physical Vascular Therapy.

It is meant to improve blood microcirculation, and it is proposed to be used daily for short periods of time.

_http://www.bemeramerica.com/bemerGroup/welcome/

I noticed this thread about Pulsed EMF and thought maybe someone might have run across this device because upon first appearance it seems to be related, although apparently it is NOT actually a PEMF therapy at all:

_http://reviewbemer3000.com/ said:
BEMER is not a part of the pulsed electromagnetic field therapy category. The effect of BEMER is achieved through a very specific bio-rhythmically defined signal configuration which only uses an electromagnetic field as its carrier. The use of an electromagnetic field is not absolutely necessary for the energy transfer of the signal and therefore merely incidental. We could as well use a mechanical wave in the ultrasound range, for example. We chose, however, not to do so for cost reasons and because of possible side effects.

So that is one thing to get clear, it is not PEMF.
But what is it then?

_http://www.bemeramerica.com/bemerGroup/why-bemer/what-is-bemer/ said:
BEMER can improve restricted circulation in the smallest blood vessels and thus support the body's own self-healing and regeneration processes.

The circulation is the human body’s supply system. 75% of it is in the area of the smallest blood vessels (microcirculation). It is in the area in which the blood cells supply the tissue and organs with nutrients and oxygen, taking waste products with them for disposal on their way back. Only with the help of these supply and disposal processes can the body’s cells fulfill their varied, life-supporting tasks and provide the body with energy.

The heart ensures that the blood cells move through the blood circulation. However: In total the blood corpuscles have to supply and cleanse an area of over 100,000 kilometers. As the heart cannot manage this on its own, it needs help: The smallest blood vessels drive the blood cells with their own pumping movements (vasomotion) and support the heart in this way. Additionally, they regulate blood flow with their movements in such a way that areas requiring a greater supply at a given time are better supplied with blood than those with a periodically lower requirement. Example: During sporting activities, the muscles have a high requirement, and the brain needs less. When learning, exactly the opposite applies.

The pumping movements of the smallest blood vessels help the blood cells to do their job - precisely where it is most needed. The results are impressive: The body’s defenses are strengthened, physical and mental performance levels rise, diseases are better combated and medicines reach their goal more easily.

Too much stress, too little sleep, an unbalanced diet, unhealthy lifestyle habits, illnesses and of course aging slow down the pumping movements of the smallest blood vessels. This affects the overwhelming majority of all people. This means that the blood cells move far too slowly and can no longer fulfill their tasks to the extent required. In the long term, an inadequate supply to the tissue and organs leads to declining physical and mental performance levels, pain, disorders and illness.

BEMER Physical Vascular Therapy can counter this, in a naturally limited setting. With the help of electromagnetically transferred stimulation signals, it stimulates the pumping movement of the smallest blood vessels, and can thus normalize the circulation again in this area. The supply to the body’s cells is improved and they can carry out their varied tasks. For example, fighting disease and pain, healing wounds, providing energy for physical and mental performance or also reestablishing general well-being.

BEMER can also be a valuable support in amateur and professional sports. With adequate circulation in the smallest blood vessels, shorter warming up and cooling down phases are possible, as well as faster regeneration and therefore more effective training sessions. Ideally, micro injuries can also be repaired immediately and in this way more serious subsequent injuries prevented in advance.

They claim it has a scientific studies to support it, and it is approved medical device:

Patents EP-B-0995463, WO 2008/025731 A1, WO 2011/023634 A1 and WO 2011/023635

BEMER is an officially approved medical device in EU, class IIa (93/42EEC ja CE0483).

During the past 15 years, 46 publications have been developed and there are four scientific studies about BEMER therapy in PubMed (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/).

This is the first I have heard of it, and of course there are people claiming "snake oil" (i.e fraudulent). I cannot offer an opinion, but I am too aware that scientific studies are not always trustworthy - but if there are, then this is a good point for the device. I am not very impressed by the existence of only four studies, and a quick glance it looks to me that they are very specific studies, and just a "blink" response I had was that there is kind of a big leap being made from those kinds of studies to the conclusions - but I could be wrong since I barely looked into it.

Further, even if, as they claim, they are approved medical devices, does not necessarily prove their effectiveness, but it does add some weight to their argument.

They say Prof. Dr. med. Reiner Klopp has a book that is a reference for Microcirculation. Maybe that could give someone some understanding of how the device is supposed to help microcirculation.

As for my friends - a different matter apart from questions about this technology/therapy:
In the end, my friends are taking trial runs with the device, seeing how it makes them feel, and counting their money. It will have to be up to them how confident they are in buying into it given their own research, experience and capacity to pay. Naturally.

Note: my first, "blink" response to their question though, was, how much are you doing towards diet and life style first - before looking at an expensive treatment option? If things are not just ok with how you feel, there is vast improvement that can be made with every day choices and they are aware of my ketogenic diet, the importance of getting enough sleep, detoxification, for example.

So, back to the main point of this post: does anyone have experience to share with this?

Just copying from another thread, re Schumann PEMF:

there are studies demonstrating that the lack of Schumann waves (eg with solar flares) is detrimental to your health; conversely, I've found only a few demonstrating their beneficial effects. Here's one http://www.salzburg.gv.at/cherry_schumann_resonances.pdf
Note in the references, the work by Sandyk who experimented with surrogate Schumann magnetic fields, with positive, intriguing results.

Sandyk, R. 1992: "Alpha rhythm and the pineal gland". Int J Neurosci 63(3-4): 221-227.
Sandyk, R. and Anninos, P.A., 1992a: "Attenuation of epilepsy with application of external
magnetic fields: a case report". Int J Neurosci 66(1-2): 75-85.
Sandyk, R. and Anninos, P.A., 1992b: "Magnetic fields alter the circadian periodicity of seizures".
Int J Neurosci 63 (3-4): 265-274.

However, it seems that in order to have a tangible effect, the surrogate field intensity must be low, in the same OM as the natural Schumanns. Higher-powered signals such as found in most available "Schumann generators" would seem to just overload the "human receiver circuits", bringing no benefit.
I have built a few low-level generators with selectable output frequency, but can't state much yet (I've tried them for a few days at a time during the last few months, but I am a notoriously unreliable test subject :)

Bumping up this thread.

Dr. Wiliam Pawluk is one of the leading specialists in the field of PEMF. He has been studying and researching it for over 30 years.

@Altair tells us about one of his books here:

I thought about it too recently. If exposure to magnetic field helps in this case at all, it doesn't have to be MRI. Pulsed electromagntic field therapy (PEMF) might possibly to do the job, providing sufficient intensity. I'm reading Power Tools for Health: How pulsed magnetic fields (PEMFs) help you at the moment and it looks like it's indeed a powerful therapy which could at least mitigate the negative effects of vaccination. This technology is being researched for decades, including by NASA. I'll post some excerpts as soon as I finish the book.

And you can read some relevant excerpts from the book mentioned by @Altair here :

Health Protocol for Mandatory Coronavirus Vaccination

However, according to Dr. Pawluk himself, this book was more technical and dry for the common reader. That is why he decided to write another book that is simpler and more accessible to everyone. The title of this book is: « Supercharge Your Health with PEMF Therapy: How Pulsed Electromagnetic Field (PEMF) Therapy Can Jumpstart Your Health, Banish Pain, Improve Sleep, and Help Prevent and Relieve Over 80 Common Health Conditions »

I have just finished that book in question and here are some excerpts from it (the bold is mine):

Supercharge Your Health with PEMF Therapy said:
This is especially true when PEMF treatments are done on a regular basis. Frequent PEMF therapy sessions boost health right down to the cellular level, optimizing cell function by creating a dynamic cellular environment that improves cell function and enhances cellular resiliency.

Supercharge Your Health with PEMF Therapy said:
In addition to the above benefits, PEMF therapy offers many other vital health gains. Daily use of PEMF therapy restores neurotransmitters and brain function, increases blood oxygen levels, improves circulation, balances blood pressure, promotes energy production in the body by increasing levels of the energy molecule ATP (adenosine triphosphate), and helps to activate all of the body’s antioxidant defenses to protect against free radical damage and chronic inflammation.

Supercharge Your Health with PEMF Therapy said:
The therapeutic use of PEMF therapy is rooted in both science and history, with thousands of university-level controlled studies with PEMFs having been conducted on a large variety of health conditions and physical processes. Research continues to be done on the range of the ways that PEMF therapy affects the body.

Still, while PEMF therapy is great, like almost all other therapies, PEMFs are not a panacea. They do not raise the dead! But they have proven to be safe and amazingly successful, both as primary and complementary therapies.

Supercharge Your Health with PEMF Therapy said:
In the late 19th century, the French-Russian engineer Georges Lakhovsky (1870-1942) became the first person to theorize that each cell had its own frequency oscillating at a specific amplitude. He proposed that cells also respond to oscillations imposed upon them from outside sources. Lakhovsky developed what is likely the first “energy medicine” device, called the Multiple Wave Oscillator or Radio-Cellulo-Oscillator. The device produced a wide range of therapeutic frequencies, from extremely low frequency (ELF) electromagnetic radiation all the way up to gigahertz radio waves. It was used in both US and European hospitals until the mid-20th century.

Supercharge Your Health with PEMF Therapy said:
Tesla also invented a lesser-known electrical coil. This is the standard magnetic loop coil that is an essential element in all PEMF systems today.

Supercharge Your Health with PEMF Therapy said:
In 1986, the seminal book Body Electric: Electromagnetism and the Foundation of Life was published by Dr. Robert Becker and Gary Selden. This book provided one of the first scientifically-based descriptions of the human body as an electromagnetic apparatus that is very susceptible and amenable to magnetic field therapies. During this time, a wide variety of PEMF devices started to become available in Europe, and by the late 1990s, much of Europe was already familiar with PEMF therapy.

Supercharge Your Health with PEMF Therapy said:
But before it is used for healing, it is important to have a basic understanding of some of the physical characteristics of magnetic science, including electric and magnetic fields and their actions on the body. This knowledge will allow you to choose the best solutions for your health needs. Unfortunately, too often, people make their choices based on cost alone. This results in false starts and inadequate benefits. There are so many choices and so much conflicting information available today that you need to educate yourself adequately to make the best value decisions.

Supercharge Your Health with PEMF Therapy said:
Electromagnetic fields affect the charge of the cell membrane, rebalancing it so that membrane channels can open up. These channels are like the doors and windows of a house – by opening them, oxygen and nutrients are better able to enter the cell, and carbon dioxide and waste are more easily eliminated from the cell. This helps to rebalance and restore optimum cell function.

Supercharge Your Health with PEMF Therapy said:
The first point to understand is that all EMFs interact with living systems, affecting enzymes related to cell division and multiplication, growth regulation, and regulation of the sleep hormone melatonin (controlled by pineal gland metabolism), among many other effects. Depending on their nature, electromagnetic fields, frequencies, and waveforms will either amplify or diminish your body’s own signals. Harmful EMFs negatively affect the body’s natural functions, while therapeutic EMFs act in positive, supportive ways, enhancing cellular communication and overall health.

Supercharge Your Health with PEMF Therapy said:
To further clarify terminology, health-enhancing PEMFs are really extremely low-frequency (ELF) PEMFs. Harmful EMFs are very high-frequency.

Supercharge Your Health with PEMF Therapy said:
Practically speaking, for therapeutic magnetic field applications, the spectrum is very narrow. The goal of a PEMF system is to produce a magnetic field that will not only be supportive to the body’s natural functions, but also to use magnetic field strengths that will go all the way through the body with sufficient intensity, called magnetic flux density, to create the desired actions in the body.

Supercharge Your Health with PEMF Therapy said:
PEMFs can significantly increase oxygen levels in tissues by improving circulation, helping the body transfer oxygen from the air into the lungs and blood, affecting the ability of hemoglobin to carry oxygen, and helping the oxygen in hemoglobin to transfer into the tissues.

Supercharge Your Health with PEMF Therapy said:
PEMFs can help with oxygenation during exercise with oxygen therapy (EWOT) and hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT). Unfortunately, PEMFs, unless they are battery-operated, cannot be used inside HBOT chambers because of the electrical risk. PEMF therapy may be used before and/or after HBOT. It may be best to do PEMF therapy before HBOT to increase the oxygen in the blood and tissues first, followed by the pressure therapy to drive the oxygen better into the tissues. Most of the conditions benefiting from HBOT are also benefited by PEMFs, even without HBOT. The combination of the two would be expected to produce even better results.

Supercharge Your Health with PEMF Therapy said:
The degree of impact of these physical actions of PEMFs depends on the intensity of the magnetic field and the depth of penetration into the body.

Supercharge Your Health with PEMF Therapy said:
The peak intensity is one of the most important considerations when selecting a PEMF system.

Most extremely high-intensity PEMF systems do not have adjustable frequencies. In some cases, they have no frequencies at all, and instead have a repetition rate or pulse rate. Technically speaking, a pulse rate is not a frequency,

Supercharge Your Health with PEMF Therapy said:
low-intensity PEMFs may require treatments to last a very long time or may need to be continuous. By contrast, medium- to high-intensity PEMF systems provide symptom relief benefits in less than a month with just minutes per day of treatment.

Supercharge Your Health with PEMF Therapy said:
but given that most research points to the generation of charge in tissues as being the most obvious reason PEMF therapy works, intensity may well matter more than any other single factor.

Supercharge Your Health with PEMF Therapy said:
Frequency range is always an important aspect of a PEMF system.

Supercharge Your Health with PEMF Therapy said:
The primary criteria to consider when choosing PEMF treatments, as well as choosing a PEMF system to purchase, are intensity, treatment area sizes, frequencies and programs, ability to self-design programs, program times, portability, and ease-of-use.

Supercharge Your Health with PEMF Therapy said:
Intensities can be classified easily as extremely low (less than 0.5 gauss), low (0.5 gauss – 10 gauss), medium (10 gauss - 100 gauss), high (100 – 1000 gauss), and very high (greater than 1000 gauss).

PEMFs have major advantages over most other pain management approaches because of their pain-relieving capability, and their documented effectiveness for reducing inflammation, decreasing swelling, improving circulation, helping with tissue regeneration, decreasing nerve irritability, improving nerve recovery, decreasing overactive immune responses, and many more benefits.

Supercharge Your Health with PEMF Therapy said:
In addition, PEMFs work synergistically with almost all other treatment approaches to help with pain and heal tissue.

Going “low and slow” means starting treatments with low intensities and the shortest treatment time, then moving up the different treatment time and intensity options gradually. The reason for doing this is to test the tissue/body to determine how receptive it is to PEMF stimulation. By itself, this is a form of diagnostic test.

Usually, a reaction over the reactive parts of the body indicates they have significant inflammation or damage. Healthy tissues largely ignore the magnetic field. Damaged or inflamed tissues will react by having pain where there was none or a sudden increase in pain.

Supercharge Your Health with PEMF Therapy said:
A “low and slow” protocol will depend on the health condition of the person being stimulated, the PEMF system being used, and the person’s psychological or emotional sensitivity level.

Supercharge Your Health with PEMF Therapy said:
Always remember: lack of symptoms does not always mean complete healing. Less compromised deeper tissues do not always “talk” to you to let you know their level of health.

Supercharge Your Health with PEMF Therapy said:
The “dose” of PEMF treatment is not unlike the dosage use of a medication. This includes the strength of the magnetic field, the length of action, and how often treatments need to be repeated for benefits to be achieved. When any of these are inadequate, the results of the PEMF treatment will be inadequate, as well, notwithstanding factors affecting the tissue and underlying condition, mentioned above.

Supercharge Your Health with PEMF Therapy said:
The most common dosing problem is the intensity of the PEMF field. Research has shown that the PEMF field intensity at the tissue being targeted to reduce inflammation is optimally around 15 gauss (see Appendix A). If the depth of the problem being treated is not taken into account, the PEMF field intensity is usually going to be too low.

Most people don’t realize that PEMF therapy may take some work and effort. That’s because PEMF therapy doesn’t take over the body, it makes the body do the work needed.

Supercharge Your Health with PEMF Therapy said:
The general rule of thumb is that the higher the intensity of the PEMF field, the less treatment time will be required and the faster the results will happen. Although there are exceptions to this rule, this is the place to start.

Supercharge Your Health with PEMF Therapy said:
While PEMFs stimulate the body to repair and heal itself, the body still has to have the capacity to be able to do that, whether in whole or in part. In other words, the body has to have enough vitality to repair and rebalance tissue and cellular function.

Supercharge Your Health with PEMF Therapy said:
In the going “low and slow” approach, low refers to intensity and slow refers to treatment time.

Supercharge Your Health with PEMF Therapy said:
The need for going “low and slow” is to determine the body’s sensitivity to, or readiness for, magnetic field stimulation. PEMF therapy is a form of “physical” therapy, as opposed to pharmacologic (drug) therapy, nutritional therapy, counseling, or procedures. The magnetic field passes through the body stimulating the production of charge in the tissues which then translates into a multitude of physiologic, biochemical, and immune responses.

The people who are the most sensitive to PEMFs are in most need of going “low and slow.” These include individuals who are sensitive to sound, computer terminals, electronics, EMFs, microwave ovens, smells, etc. People who are especially vulnerable often include those with fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, neurologic syndromes, medication sensitivities, multiple allergies, poor tolerance for even low doses of medications, in a very weakened state, and very low blood pressure. People who have undergone long hospital stays, extensive radiation or chemotherapy, and/or who are prone to high anxiety states are also likely to be most vulnerable.

Now, did I have a system like that at home ? No but I have tried it at a clinic near our home (6 sessions out of 10) and my need was to improve my sleep. So far I can say that the results are very interesting because my sleep has greatly improved. However, it is quite pricey and I don't think that I will continue with that clinic for other treatments.

However, I am seriously thinking about buying one for home since all the family could benefit for it.

What do you think and has anyone experienced this with a device whose intensity and frequency could be known?
