‘Putin Approves Digital Gulag

The law on electronic summonses, which was urgently adopted by the State Duma and the Federation Council and signed by Vladimir Putin on Friday, was a response to the mass emigration of Russians that angered the Russian president.

This was reported to The Moscow Times by a senior government official who knows about the meetings held in autumn and winter.

According to him, Putin was "personally hurt" by the flight of citizens on a scale that the country did not see the fall of the tsarist regime. According to demographer Alexey Raksha, 550-800 thousand people left Russia, and Alfa-Bank analysts estimated the wave of emigration at one million.

"This escape both personally hurt and angered the boss. An instruction was given to stop such a thing in the future and begin to educate patriotism in people," the official said.

The law, which was prepared in secrecy mode, allows you to close borders for citizens by simply sending a summons through "State Services" (Gosyslugi), and in case of non-appearance - to prohibit driving a car, having a business and disposing of real estate.

The "Digital Gulag" is taking on "real outlines", says political scientist Tatiana Stanovaya: it is not just about changes in the organization of conscription for military service, but about reformatting the traditional system of state coercion.

Basic rights are restricted - freedom of movement, the right to work and inviolability of private property. Subsequently, this approach may spread to other areas, building a state system of total digital surveillance, coercion and punishment, Stanovaya believes.

Something like this?

I have mixed feelings.
I think its better for someone to avoid conscription than to be against and fake it or sabotage it.
Imagine unwilling person joining Special Military Operation.
Such person could bring chaos or just be less effective so others would have to do some work for him.

Taking rights to drive or having estate could be harsh, but sometimes necessary. I am not sure if taking away right to work is wise thing to do.
Someone can be pacifist and that person may want to avoid military things, but at same time that person can still bring value to country by being productive. If i were Putin i would make those people make ammunition or some other jobs like that.

Exactly. And nowadays Russians fell betrayed, after Kharkov, Izum, Kherson and other withdrawals/ backdeals made😡
There was no ‘business’ made during the holy war back then with Hitler on contrast.

Given the propagandist title (as opposed to good professional journalism), the fact it's The Moscow Times, and their source is "a senior gov official", I'd be very cautious with taking it at face value and would make an effort to verify their claims either by comparing it with other sources or finding and reading the law myself, or both. Did you?

What a total crap! 😆

Reminds me on "non government organizations" oposition in my country during the 1990s. Outright fifth column.

Russian military sank a Leopard tank in a swamp near Kherson

The commander with the call sign "Bull": the Russian Armed Forces captured the Leopard tank transferred to the Ukrainian Armed Forces near Kherson

German tank Leopard 2 - RIA Novosti, 1920, 04/14/2023

German Leopard tanks began to operate in the Kherson direction, one of them has already drowned in a swamp as a result of the actions of a Russian sabotage detachment, an officer of the Sokol volunteer battalion, the commander of one of its units with the call sign Bull, told RIA Novosti.
"Here, the shelling of checkpoints from Leopard tanks was repeatedly recorded. Leopard tanks were watching. There is a story from colleagues, we communicate with them, when a sabotage detachment captured a Leopard tank. They could not drag it to the rear, they took it and drowned it in a swamp. <.. .> The Leopards are here, they are already visiting,” the officer said.

Possibility of Being, yep, agree on on propagandist title. But does it change the substantial meaning?💁‍♂️
Yep, i read the text of the law itself, on Duma site, before it was passed. People are outraged now. Because nobody understands the real aim of smo.

DANGEROUS UKRAINIAN GRAIN FLOODING EUROPE

"It seems that European countries are going to pay for their attempts to profit on cheap Ukrainian grain, which, instead of feeding the starving African countries, is being transferred to quite well-fed Europe. Ukrainian grain has already brought farmers in Eastern Europe to the brink of bankruptcy, it also turned out that it is dangerous for its consumers."

"farmers from Poland, Romania, Hungary, Bulgaria and Slovakia had lost a total of €417 million due to the influx of cheap Ukrainian grain to the markets of those countries."

"The Minister of Agriculture of Slovakia explained that three independent accredited laboratories confirmed the increased content of pesticide residues."

"Only grain that cannot be used for any other purposes is sent for burning. It is either infected with a fungus, or has become a poison due to improper storage. "

Poland Bans Ukrainian Food Imports to Protect Local Farmers From Price Crunch

"WARSAW, Poland (AP) – Poland’s government said Saturday that it has decided to temporarily prohibit grain and other food imports from Ukraine as it seeks to soothe the rising anger of Polish farmers, who say they are losing huge amounts of money to a glut of Ukrainian grain on the market."

"The government announced that the ban on imports would last until June 30. The regulation also includes a prohibition on imports of sugar, eggs, meat, milk and other dairy products and fruits and vegetables."

Interesting coincidence with the recent name of the Cassiopaean in the session, 'Morebuntk':
More bunt, okay?

While looking up the definition of bunt (as a noun), two "head-turning" descriptions appeared:

  1. [Plant Pathology] a smut disease of wheat in which the kernels are replaced by the black, foul-smelling spores of fungi of the genus Tilletia
  2. a disease that destroys the grain of wheat and other grasses, caused by various fungi (genus Tilletia)

Genus Tilletia?

"Tilletia is a genus of smut fungi in the Tilletiaceae family. Species in this genus are plant pathogens that affect various grasses. Tilletia indica, which causes Karnal bunt of wheat, and Tilletia horrida, responsible for rice kernel smut, are examples of species that affect economically important crops."

And here's the horror! Interesting coincidence.
Warning of widespread crop failures?
