Sensitive People in an Insensitive World

Just to add my input, I scored at 24.

Some of the symptoms they described in that test might be due to chemical sensitivity issues dealing with toxicity, OSIT.

I scored 18. But like many others, it would have been higher a few years ago. I've developed a thick skin after close encounters with pathological people. I still suffer some from the nail biting habit - which after a 3 year hiatus of not biting my nails - has recently reared its ugly head again. sigh. It's a real struggle to nip this tensional outlet and I haven't figured out what triggers it. Any thoughts are appreciated. :)

I scored 17, but that's because I left out checks with being sensitive to loud noises in them. I work in a very noisy and chaotic environment at the moment, and had to adapt to not be influenced by it too much. It was really hard at the beginning, and still has its toll and stressful effect on my system because it needs to recover afterwards. Basically, some of the things I haven't checked are doable due to circumstances (and some of them improved as well) but are not ideal for my makeup. But one of the things that for some reason I am super sensitive to, is malls or superstores lighting. It is really overwhelming to the point where I can see the flickering and become sort of disoriented.

I have 14, but I find the test too simple and one layered (and some question are repeating in different manner). I found that when there is something that can disturb me, I can control myself and avoid getting lost in that particular problem, so there is a problem but in the same time knowing of it sort of diminish it.

I got a 22.

And I'm still afraid of loud noises and machines, like a drill, so I don't use them, or find another way how not to use a drill. :P

I only remember some other tests, i.e. for magnesium, that magnesium could help to stand more loud noises.

forgot to add thanks for the links!

19, which surprised me - higher than expected. More I think from being highly strung and getting stressed when there's too much going on rather than any sort of empathic qualities which I'm somewhat lacking.

-edit: Or, thinking about it, perhaps I am aware of what's going on for other people but suppress it because I come from a (Scots) family that allows people in pain to have their privacy (or you could call that ignoring them depending on your point of view and need for attention), and avoids airing grievances...so you can't afford to notice if someone else is upset else you might have to actually discuss it....
I come from a very "Canadian" family of "Heinz 57's", and prettyy much all of these traits would have been looked down upon if i didnt suppress them, and "toughen up"
EDIT: thought i would add-- i scored 21

I answered no to those as well, but after examining it, i realized that the no was just a coping mechanism.
I used to really beleive that one-- "whatever doesnt kill u makes u stronger", so i would immerse myself into these situations.
For example, in a physical sense, when i was a kid i would only wear a jean jacket to school in the middle of winter.(gets very cold in Calgary).
I am soo glad that i found the Cassiopaean website, and joined this forum.
Thank you all so much.
EDIT: sorry for all the posts all together. I will try to start modifying my posts, instead. :-[

Is there a way to put quotes from more than one post into a single post?

I got 20. Interestingly, I would have got a lot less a few years ago. The EE program and self work seem to have burrowed through my tough armor.
