Interesting! The 1982 alignment occurred on March 10th. I didn't find any major earthquake soon after this date. But on March 28th, 18 days after the planetary alignment, El Chichon experienced 3 major plinian eruptions deemed the "most powerful of the 20th Century". It killed at least 1,900 people, released 4 times more sulfur than Mount Saint Helen's eruption in 1980, the sulfur release induced a 0.4-0.6 degree temperature drop in the Northern atmosphere. Prior to the 1982 event, El Chichon had not experienced any substantial eruption for more than 5 centuries.Keit said:The last parade of planets of this type occurred in 1982
However there is one major difference between 1982 and now. At the time, the geomagnetic field was strong and partly protected us from Solar flares. It's not the case anymore.
