Oj divojko jabuko rumena
Pari da te ma naranča rodila
Nije mene naranča rodila
Za goru me mat moja rodila
Jodilolej tara jodilodilej
Bura mi je ziparinka bila
Zipju špreje va morje stavjala
Mornari me va mrižu lovili
Prodali me biloj Katarini
Jodilolej tara jodilodilej
Katarina dobra žena bila
Pa je mene ka vilu odgojila
Z bilim kruhom
I crljenim vinom
Jodilolej tara jodilodilej, i jodilodilodilo looo

"And now something completely different!" - chants from dalmatian highlands: (some call them Haiku on Rocks ); shepherds' heritage from ancient times, i guess - you got to be a carnivore for best performance ;D... This 'chanting' style is recently included in UNESCO World Heritage List (or something similar)!

I LOVE IT TOTALLY! :-[

Dunno about the world heritage list , for me this is human howling and groaning, nothing to do with music ;)
It always disturbs me when I hear it.

Here i post a very very unusual romanian folklore song. It is impossible to find somewhere else on the internet, as I managed to get it from an national archive by hacking it. It is unlike all the other folklore songs - style, rhythm, harmonies. After I stole the "forbidden song" i posted it on youtube, where many people were searching for it. It has plenty of views now.

When I started learning Russian a couple of months ago I decided to enhance my learning with the same technique that some 20 years ago helped me learn English - by learning songs in the target language.

As I was snooping around YouTube in search for Russian songs I came across the Russian National Anthem - in a rock version. I thought I'd share it because it's actually pretty awesome (well, in my opinion at least):

Thanks Ant22 for the Russian National Anthem in a rock version, so we can make the comparison with the original version.
The original seems a praise / prayer to the Creator.

Russian national anthem.

Although the national anthem is not the one of your country, we can not stop being moved by the eternal Magic of Music, that is why tears and smiles flow. It is as if the composers get in touch with their superior emotional center or as commonly said : They get in touch with the Goddess Inspiration or they tuned in a certain way that the music came to them from the sixth dimension as the Cs have said that is where the most amazing things originate.

I wonder if this Hungarian song, especially in the last few minutes reminds those born in the United States the melody of a Marching song.

The melody of the Hungarian song of the previous reply, especially in the last minutes has a similar tune with "The Girl I left behind Me" American Marching Song.
