I don't doubt for a second that that happens. I don't think this was the case, however, with this particular plane, which stopped the dumping, did a 180, and dumped some more....and then again. This happened...ummm....I think it ended leaving 5 or so 'lines in the sky' that were roughly parallel to each other. My point was that SOMETHING is getting dumped in the atmosphere that was not a simple contrail. If this was dumping fuel to remove weight, well....that was a helluva LOT of fuel to just dump. I wish I had a pic or video so you could see what was happening.
