I found a bunch more from 2012 and put them on my FB page.

I saw them yesterday but can't find them on your FB page today. Shouldn't they be under the following post?..

Didn't these things start around August last year? Is it some kind of cyclical thing, I wonder?

There are three recent cases from Russia (or the region) as well.

20th of July, 1:00 am - People in St. Petersburg complained about a strange noise that sounded like an aircraft engine. The sound increased and decreased in several minutes interval (article in Russian).

8th of August - A person from Novokuznetzk, Russia posted a video recording of a background sound in his neighborhood.

21st of August - People from Astana, Kazakhstan, complained about similar to the first case noises - a loud and increasing or decreasing sound of an aircraft engine. Military denies any connection.

18 Aug 2012: Strange Sounds in Germany

This one in particular is very strange. Think the fellow on the bicycle says something like "my god is that loud", amongst other things not translatable for me.

Looks like this guy on the same day he uploaded his vid, commented on a 'strange sounds' spoof clip:

GREAT!!!! They all think thatt this "Strange Sounds"-Videos are real! ^^

So it's most probably a doctored clip, IMO.

I'm pretty sure I have heard that "trumpet" sound somewhere else too, can't remember from what exdactly, but I am fairly certain this one is faked.

yep it is most likely fake then.
I somehow still think that a awful lot of those videos are fake.
It's almost the same with UFO videos, in the end they do not proof anything anymore in this day and age as long as you don't know the person who made it very good or you have independend reports from other sources.

I was listening to the sound made by the "hail gun" in this video below and if you listen closely, the final short echo is very similar to the "sound" in some of the other videos, but is nowhere near the duration.

I wonder though, if someone fired one of these things in a general area, if it might create a longer echo, sounding very much like the "sound" even if from some distance away?

Have a listen to the short echo sound from this hail gun. It seems similiar to me.

I took the lead from a commenter who claimed that backround ambience was mono and 'The sound' was stereo. It checks out; everywhere you zoom in on the background ambience (without 'The sound'); channels are identical and everywhere you zoom in on 'The sound' it's stereo or non-identical. Another hoax.

I somehow still think that a awful lot of those videos are fake.
It's almost the same with UFO videos, in the end they do not proof anything anymore in this day and age as long as you don't know the person who made it very good or you have independend reports from other sources.

I imagine some non-3D tricksters dampening the social signals of the 'earth opening up' or perhaps it's just a natural defense mechanism in the hoaxer trying to quell a hard worked for denial. Eitherway I think it's an interesting phenomena to follow, not for the proof but for the hints and 'alarmclock' the real phenomena may provide.
