Telesio Galilei Academy of Science a Fraud?

Billy Zane, Hollywood actor and co-star with Robert Fucilla in Mercenaries, apparently chairs their film company and - surprise! - an award:

_http://www.zimbio.com/Billy+Zane/articles/lLOco17JhA2/Now+Billy+Zane+Edition

He was the dashing leading man with all the right moves who tried to woo Kate Winslet’s character, Rose in “Titanic...” In November 2010, Zane was awarded an honorary degree honoris causa from Lium University Bellinzona, Switzerland, for his contribution to cinematography. He is the chairman of the Francesco Fucilla Film production company 21st Century Filmworks.

_http://www.threeicecubes.com/2011/11/28/where-are-they-now-billy-zane-edition/

Zane got married in 1989 to an actress named Lisa;.they called it quits six years later. He was also engaged for a time to a Chilean actress, Leonor Varela, his costar in the 1999 Made-For-TV film, “Cleopatra.” Zane was also engaged to marry British model turned actress, Kelly Brook, whom he met while co-starring in “Survival Island,” also known as “Three.” Sadly, the duo split in April 2008, reunited again shortly thereafter then officially ended the relationship in August 2008. He has been dating Croatian model Jasmina Hdagha since March, 2010, with whom he has a daughter, Eva with. Unfortunately, his own ship went under on March 23, 2010, when the IRS filed a $116,578 lien against Zane with the L.A. County Recorder of Deeds. He has not commented on his sad tax situation, i.e. it is none of our damn business. In November 2010, he was awarded an honorary degree honoris causa from Lium University Bellinzona, Switzerland, for his contribution to cinematography. He is the chairman of the Francesco Fucilla Film production company 21st Century Filmworks.

MOD NOTE: Robert Fucilla, through his lawyer, denies validity of these opinions and of this analysis of available data.

Waldyr Alves Rodrigues Jr. - Bio

http://www.spiritus-temporis.com/waldyr-alves-rodrigues-jr-/

Waldyr Alves Rodrigues, Jr. was born at Araraquara, SP, Brazil on March 14, 1946. He obtained his B.Sc. in Physics in 1968 at the University of São Paulo (Brazil), where he has been a research student of Mário Schenberg (one of the top Brazilian theoretical physicists) and became an Assistant Professor in 1969. He then moved to Torino, Italy where he did post-graduate studies at the Scuola di Perfezionamento in Fisica Nucleare and obtained a degree (equivalent to Ph.D.) in theoretical Nuclear Physics in 1971. At the same year he returned to Brazil and became an Associate Professor at the new Physics Institute of Campinas State University (UNICAMP).
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
He worked there with Cesare M. G. Lattes (one of the discoverers of the pi-meson) on multiple particle production (particularly the so called centauro events) produced by collisions of very high energy cosmic rays with atmosphere and/or target atoms. During the seventies he progressively moved his research interest to Mathematical Physics and in 1981 he moved to the Institute of Mathematics, Statistics and Scientific Computation (IMECC-UNICAMP) where he became a Full Professor of Mathematical Physics in 1986 and retired 1998, serving after that period as a invited professor. He has also been the director of that Institute from 1994-1998 and also served as vice president for the Foundation for Development of UNICAMP from 1998-2000. He is presently a member of the Coordination Committee of the Clifford Algebras International Research Open Studies (Center CAIROS), Laboratoire de Mathématiques Emile Picard, Institut de Mathématiques de Toulouse, Université Paul Sabatier, Toulouse, France and also a member of the Scientific Council of the Center of Logics, Epistemology and the History of Science (UNICAMP).
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
Rodrigues is well known for his manifold research interests such as the applications of Clifford Algebras in Mathematical Physics, the study of extraordinary solutions of the relativistic wave equations, the foundations of Quantum Mechanics and Relativity Theory, having given several lectures on those subjects at international meetings. He advised 12 Ph.D. thesis in both Mathematics and Physics (http://genealogy.math.ndsu.nodak.edu/id.php?id=74307), and is the author of more 130 papers published in leading scientific journals and dozens of chapters of books. More than a hundreed of his papers are reviewed in Mathematics Reviews and the Zentrallblat für Mathematik, and he is also on the editorial board of the journals, Advances in Applied Clifford Algebras (http://www.springer.com/birkhauser/physics/journal/6) and Random Operators and Stochastic Equations (http://www.degruyter.de/journals/rose/detailEn.cfm). He is a member of the American Mathematical Society, International Association of Mathematical Physics, Brazilian Mathematical Society, Brazilian Society for Applied and Computational Mathematics, Brazilian Physical Society, New York Academy of Sciences and the Lódz Society of Sciences. He won in 1992 and in 1998 the Zeferino Vaz Prize for Academic Achievement in Mathematics. He is author (among others) of the books Nonlocality in Quantum Physics (with A. A. Grib) and The Many Faces of Maxwell, Dirac and Einstein Equations, A Clifford Bundle Approach (with E. Capelas de Oliveira). Rodrigues has been a Visiting Scientist at MIT (USA) in 1976/1978 and Visiting Professor at Trento University (1987/1988), Perugia University (1989) and at Liverpool University (2001/2002). As Ark mentioned earlier about the mysterious Lium University Bellinzona, - a check on whois shows that the website is owned by CISU which stands for Centro Italiano Studi Ufologici or Italian Center for UFO Studies. It's registered under the name of a Del Don Orlando who apparently formed the said the university.

MODIFICATION: It seems that the CISU that owns Lium Uni is not the same CISU that is the Centro Italiano Studi Ufologici. Instead, it is Centro Internazionale svizzero per lo Sviluppo delle Scienza Umane.

An unfortunate association, however!

See: _http://www.swiss-cisu.ch/

Orlando Del Don was accused of health insurance fraud - it seems that he is accused of having charged services to insurance companies that weren't actually rendered.

The German article is here: _http://www.blick.ch/news/svp-vizepraesident-del-don-unter-betrugsverdacht-id142702.html

LUGANO. The Ticino prosecutor has opened investigations against Belli Zoneser Del Don Orlando psychiatrist. Vice President of the Ticino SVP and National candidate is accused of fraud in the health insurance.

The SVP, however, assumes that Del Don is innocent and is sticking to his candidacy for the National Party president Pierre Rusconi said on Tuesday upon request.

Del Don has announced internally party to resign his political office, if his position were to deteriorate over the judiciary, as he said on Tuesday upon request.

The psychiatrist believes the former director of a clinic in Lugano, which is the end of August in custody, to have been unfairly denigrated. What exactly is it placed a burden, not white Del Don.
Raid on the clinic

His situation had not changed since the raid at the clinic by the end of August, said the SVP politician. At that time the prosecutor had caused by Communique, that would be against Del Don there is no suspicion.
Confrontation is imminent

Why is it the SVP politician who has always been described as innocent, has now taken yet targeted is not known. Attorney General Bruno Balestra was reached on Tuesday for a non-opinion.

Del Don reported that he soon the former director of the hospital are juxtaposed. He expects to be able to make it all the suspicions of the world. Because of the file which had been confiscated, it also apparent that he had nothing to do with the matter.

The office is investigating a total of four people. They are suspected of having cheated the health insurance companies to 40000-50000 francs. They should have charged for treatments that were never rendered. (SDA)

Overall, certainly an interesting group of individuals.

We shall, however, assume that he is innocent until further information is discovered/received. The article above is from February 2012, so they are undoubtedly, still investigating.

I just wanted to say that I've been following this thread with awe at what the combined effort of this network has uncovered.

Even more unbelievable is how much EGO this Francesco Fucilla has in trying to get away with doing the same thing over and over again! :jawdrop:

I really hope he does try to sue you guys.. All the judge has to do is to read this thread to see what a crook he and the whole lot of them are. And obviously that's why he wants it to be taken down as soon as possible. He REALLY did walk into the wrong bar

The things that have so far been uncovered is mind boggling. More than the fraudulent companies / penny stock scams, etc., this is a huge addition to the corruption of Science. While the financial fraud certainly harms society and those who've been ripped off, these types of scams are so widespread that it seems the FF gang are relatively small potatoes in that arena.

What really boggles the mind and infuriates me is how this apparent network of fraudsters and racketeers have cast an even darker shadow on science, showing not only the utter corruption of funding/controlling, etc. but have associated these dubious activities and associations with alternative/"unorthodox" research. This is even a bigger detriment to society than their stereotypical business scams. The value of the scientific method has been tarnished further by these two bit scammers, IMO.

I think all the corruption in science that's being exposed more and more even in mainstream media (including falsifying data) is further complicated by this whole saga. It adds unbelievable levels of ineptitude to the whole corruption angle (just like ponerology predicts) leading to new levels of discrediting science and some very good scientists. In my opinion, this is really a shame.

It would all be hilarious if it wasn't so serious an issue.

It looks like there's a whole other set of scams that connect through Ascension Securities.

Gary Porter was a director of Ascension Securities and before that Mansion House Securities.

He was also a director of Castra Lands Ltd., involved in a 'landbanking' scheme in the UK:

Court orders three more Essex-based landbanking companies into liquidation

The Insolvency Service

Three companies in Essex that mis-sold undeveloped land for investment to the public have been ordered into liquidation in the High Court on grounds of public interest following an investigation by Company Investigations (CI) of the Insolvency Service.

The investigation found that Theydon Land Developments Limited, Emerging Property Partnership Limited (See Note 8) and Franklin Knight Ltd had mis-sold small, residential-sized plots of undeveloped land at sites in Theydon Bois, Essex to the public.

The investigation found that the three companies were linked to 11 other landbanking companies which had already been wound up; six of these companies were wound up in June 2011 (see Note 5 below) and five in March 2010 (see Note 6).

Theydon Land Developments Limited bought two sites in Theydon Bois in March and August 2010 for £68,000. The company then sold 66 plots to investors for £388,452,between March 2011 and April 2011 through its agents, including Franklin Knight Ltd (see Note 4).

Emerging Property Partnership Limited sold plots at a site in Theydon Bois prior to being struck off the Register of Companies and dissolved on 19 October 2010.

The director of Franklin Knight Ltd was Miss Manjit Kaur Minhas who had also been the director of Alpha Capital Investments (London) Limited, one of the land banking companies already wound up (see Note 5).

Commenting on the case Company Investigations Supervisor Chris Mayhew said:

“It is appalling that unscrupulous land banking operators are continuing to prey on innocent members of the public and must be stopped. Our message to these crooks is quite a clear: we will investigate you and close you down”.

7. The petitions to wind up the present companies (and to restore Emerging Property Partnership Limited to the Register and wind up on grounds of public interest) were presented on 1 October 2011 under the provisions of section 124A of the Insolvency Act 1986.

8. Theydon Land Developments Limited purchased two adjacent sites and, together with its sales agent Franklin Knight Ltd sold at least 66 plots of land to investors raising some £388,452. The grounds for winding up the companies were:

· Emerging Property Partnership Limited and Theydon Land Developments Limited carried on business with a lack of commercial probity; and,

· Franklin Knight Ltd failured to file returns and closed down without a formal process.

9. In ordering the companies into liquidation on grounds of public interest on 14 December 2011 Mr Registrar Baister said:

“All of the companies were engaged in what is now commonly known as land banking. The Secretary of State’s allegations are made out in that misleading and unfounded statements were made to induce people to purchase plots of land on the basis that the land being sold represented a good investment because of the likelihood of the land receiving planning permission for residential development and the resulting significant increase in its value whereas in fact, as is always the case in these sorts of cases, the chances are very unlikely of the land receiving planning permission. The land was phenomenally over stated in value and in one case the local authority went so far as to issue a warning about the company’s business. This would of itself be sufficient to wind up in the public interest. In the case of Franklin Knight Ltd, the Annual Return is 21 months overdue and in all the circumstances before me I am satisfied that Emerging Property Partnership Limited should be restored to the Register and that all three companies be ordered into liquidation on grounds of public interest”.

11. The Service recently issued a warning to the public alerting them to the unscrupulous practices of land banking as figures indicate that these scams are on the increase – see news release “Unscrupulous land banking companies on the increase” issued on 19 October 2011.

Apparently this was part of a nationwide scam. Castra shared the same phone number and London address as Emerging Property Partnership, also indicted in the 'landbanking' scandal:

Theydon Bois landbankers take investor for £24k

The Mirror, UK

14 Dec 2011

We can only admire Paul Steyne's ability to multi-task.

It seems that the 23-year-old juggled work at a land investment firm with being a professional cage fighter.

He was the sole director of Emerging Property Partnership Ltd, which flogged plots of fields near Theydon Bois, Essex, to prospective investors, the idea being that the value would shoot up when the land got planning permission.

"EPP believe that this high profile site will... in the near future be granted planning permission for a variety of leisure facilities as well as major housing projects," gushed the firm's prospectus.

But the local council, Epping Forest, told us: "The land is entirely within the green belt. As things stand at the moment, and for the foreseeable future, this land will not be allocated for development purposes."

Strangely, identical wording was used in the prospectus sent by another land investment firm, Castra Land Ltd.

Even though this company was run by different bosses - Gary Porter, Craig White and Anthony Hunter - it also used the same central London address and even the same phone number as Emerging Property Partnership.

EPP has now been dissolved and Castra Land is in liquidation, leaving investors in this landbanking project high and dry. One of them was Paul Flook of Bristol, who paid £24,000 for two plots on the Theydon Bois site.

He said: "They informed me that they had the backing of Epping Forest District Council and that they had already obtained re-zoning from green belt to brownfield, along with outline planning permission for the construction of a housing estate."

As our series on landbanking has warned, this is a rampant scam used across Britain which has stung investors for at least £200million.

UPDATE 1: Paul Steyne has contacted us to explain that he never had any role running Emerging Property Partnership, worked there only briefly and was duped into becoming the director.

"I was only 18 and these people asked me if I wanted to be a manager, I didn't know the difference between a manager and a director, and I never had any control over the company decisions, I never signed a cheque or decided what land it bought.

"I never owned any shares in the company and earned around less than 15 grand."

He is in a difficult position because EPP has now been shut down in the High Court in the public interest - still with Steyne listed as the sole director.

"When I left I asked them what I needed to do to resign and they told me not to worry, it's all been taken care of.

"I feel like a fool but I'm also very hurt. I've done nothing wrong and I have nothing to hide.

"I've got nothing but contempt for the people who duped me like this."

UPDATE 2: Two further firms that sold plots at Theydon Bois have also been put into compulsory liquidation in the High Court - Franklin Knight Limited and Theydon Land Developments Limited.

Another director of Mansion House Securities was David Richard Scott.

He was also a director of Global Land Group Limited. Here's something about this company from the Motley Fool forum:

Global Land Group is covered in Tony Hetherington's mid-week investigation today, the full article should appear here at some point in time:

In the meantime, here are some snippets:

They say you can tell a lot about people by the company they keep...

Take Global Land Group Limited, based near the Tower of London.

Global has been in business for just over two years, and its directors have included Dean Benjamin Straker, 30, and Scott Anthony Straker, 34, while one of the founders of the company was David Richard Scott, 57.

According to FSA records, Scott was a non executive director of Mansion House Securities, a broking firm that specialised in high risk penny stocks. And Dean Straker trained as an investment adviser at Mansion House from May 2006 to March 2007.

The article goes on to draw links to Ascension Securities, ASA Global Investments Limited, Francis Wittington Limited, Bishopsgate Capital Stockbrokers, and Anthony Scott Investments Limited.
