The Artchemical Matter

You are the man JohnnyRadar! Kudos! :headbanger:
This is such a great upgrade for Artchemichal Matter. Thank you so much!
I can't wait to post to our new home. ;)

P.S By the way, do you know up to what image size the new site supports?

Great work JR!

Hey it looks great.
Well done JR :)

Have you thought about registering to some site such as deviantart ?
Build a group there and ask for submissions ?

You may even do like some groups are doing, propose a theme for artworks every other months so it keeps the thing going ?

The only thing is to register the group and probably each participant as well but it's worth doing it imho.
It does not take much maintenance but a regular participation to build credibility.

It works great for a lot of people so maybe you could give it a shot ?

my two cents.

right now, max 900 pixels wide or 900 pixels tall, 72 dpi. we should be able, in the near future, to host hi-res copies of each piece but i'm running into trouble with uploading large files through the site manager. i'll let you know when that's working. :)

that's a great idea, Tigersoap. i'm spending a little time today checking into it... i think we'll continue to host the images on the current site, but DA may be a good supplement for ordering prints, which would make hi-res posters available to anyone who wanted them... i'll keep you guys posted :)

and thanks for all the positive feedback! :D nice to know people are enjoying the site... more updates are in order for the near future so keep your eyes peeled...

I'm hoping this can be a more robust place to host work that relates to the topics covered here and on SOTT. Perhaps kind of like an art gallery/creative outlet for the Fellowship. (?)

This has been also my first thought when I read about the new web site. Well, it would be great to see some -symbols- there for example.
And this new home looks great.

Hi Tigersoap, is there also a chance to see something from you there? I remember some work by you done a longer time ago, only the title "black hole" comes to my mind and that it had something to do with Gurdjieff.

FWIW ;)

as soon as the logo for the fellowship is nailed down and the website up, i'd be more than happy to post a link. :) or did you mean to use the symbols in a piece of artwork? 'cause that would be cool... as long as it's ok with Laura and the SOTT folk - thinking of association, copyright issues, etc...

Yea, Tigersoap! ;)

From my experience, I think it could help because this is all about building up a presence, the website is great but you need to have your works shown on a site like DA because it helps to reach a wider audience. It won't happen in one day but the more the works are seen by different people the more it can maybe effect a positive change and inspire others ?!

It won't remove the focus from your website, it's complementary.

totally, i agree. it's gotta be about the work and not about the site itself, the site is just a vehicle, like a gallery. i spent some time last night checking out DA again and it looks like a good fit. especially, as you said, that it reaches a wider audience and a lot of artists are networking over there... i'll be working to set up an account there and hopefully will have the prints available through their service soon as well... thanks for your suggestions on this :)

Ok I'll send you the files of what I did.

I thought in both ways too, as you asked, and sure the copyright issues should be clear, well maybe it is just an invitation or a planning for the near future.

we have two new contributors (forum members!) to the Artchemical Matter - Balberon and Tempus Fugit. they each have Work posted under the videos section :D

I just knew from the start that The Artchemical Matter would be significant. Seeing it grow like this is wonderful. Thanks again everyone for your work.

Hi Jonny Radar,

Coolio! :cool2:

I just wanted to point out that the following:

"Some of the greatest thinkers in human history were consumed to understand color, among them the Greek scientist and philosopher Aristotle, the English scientist Sir Isaac Newton, and the German writer and scientist Johann Goethe. Goethe regarded his immense 1810 study, Farbenlehre (Theory of Colors), his most important achievement, even greater that his masterwork, Faust."

should be attributed to Betty Edwards, as she makes this observation in her work "Color, A Course in Mastering the Art of Mixing Colors."

And how great was it to see Hopenosis being used by SOTT in recent commentary connecting the dots! :)

With kind regards,

~Leoursa

PS - I also just wanted to say that I've formed the framework for a blog myself but until it is "up and running" will wait to post any link in this section. I figure there is only so much of reading and writing in other people's houses one can do before the creative urge starts itching and you need to do something yourself. So kudos in starting The Artchemical Matter, it is an inspiration.

Done! Thanks for bringing that up. :)
