France.
If they tell you from TV that it's hot and dry outside. So it is.
And it does not matter that outside the window in July plus 16 C and the second week of rain.
The French deputies decided to find justice for those who do not believe the TV.
They developed a bill to combat "climate skepticism" in the media and social networks
Under new legislation that is expected to take shape in the next few months, challenging the anthropogenic theory of global warming or the very existence of a climate crisis may soon become punishable by censorship in both the media and social media.
In collaboration with the Quota Climat association and the Rousseau Institute, a group of deputies from the presidential majority and NUPES announced on July 19 their desire to develop a bill aimed at suppressing the so-called climate skeptic opinions in the media and social networks, a term that refers to remarks that express doubts or even expose question the responsibility of man for global warming, as well as its extent.
The law will have to deal with "the dissemination of false information on environmental issues", in particular "disinformation about the contradiction or minimization of the existence of an environmental crisis and its anthropogenic origin."
The bill, drafted by the think tank and environmental association, also includes an article on "climate contracts"—a tool to reduce advertising for goods and services deemed unfriendly to the environment, create an Observatory to cover the environmental crisis in the media, or even a framework that defines the mission of public broadcasting in relation to information related to climate change.”
I read all this and think that there are two options for the development of events in this situation:
- either humanity will finally turn into a herd of silent and driven sheep,
- either a new era of communication between people will begin in the near future: in personal communication, not mediated by gadgets, in kitchens ... as in the good old ones in the Union ...
And there is a chance that in the second option, natural curiosity, ingenuity, intelligence and cunning will still defeat this insane machine for suppressing common sense, created with the help of corrupt and impenetrably stupid legislators.
