The Situation in Mexico

The news about killing fields in Jalisco and Mexico in general is not new, yet it supports Trump's rhetoric of military intervention to protect America from Cartels and save Mexicans in the process. Action also promoted by the opposition to the current regime.

The first nationally documented data on such sites operated by criminal groups date back to approximately 20 years ago. For example, in 2009, the case of Santiago Meza Lopez, known as "El Pozolero," revealed the existence of an extermination camp in Tijuana, Baja California, where hundreds of bodies were dissolved in acid on orders from the Tijuana Cartel.

In the context of Jalisco, earlier reports of clandestine graves and sites of mass disappearance began to emerge more frequently starting in 2013, such as the case of La Barca, where 74 human remains were found.

In the case of the Izaguirre ranch, although it was secured by the National Guard in September 2024, it was not until March 2025 that the searchers' collective became aware of its use as an extermination camp, with the discovery of clandestine crematoria, skeletal remains and hundreds of belongings. This suggests that, although the authorities had prior knowledge of the property, the extent of the criminal operations had not been made public or thoroughly investigated until that time.

Makes me wonder if there is actually a power balance between the government and the cartels with both sides running their own elements of society and areas of the country. Wouldn't have thought it was that bad...

With all the money the drug cartels are extracting from customers in the US there is probably no way authorities can diminish the influence of that state within a state.

Excerpt from Tucker Carlson's website:

The Mexican drug cartels are a far greater threat to the United States than China, Russia or Iran, says Doug Macgregor. They’ve got Javelin missile systems on our border, and American officials on their payroll.

Recently Tucker Carlson said:

Ukrainian armed forces have been selling arms received from the US to Mexican drug cartels, which they then use against the United States, American journalist Tucker Carlson said in an interview with Colonel Daniel Davis.
"Fact is, Ukrainian military is selling a huge percentage, up to half of the arms that we send them, half! And I'm not guessing about this. I know that for a fact, <...> not speculation. And they're selling it, and a lot of it is winding up with the drug cartels on our border. So this is a crime, <…> our intel agencies are fully aware of this. You tell me they're not profiting from this? Of course [they are]. You think the CIA is not profiting from this? Yes, they are. I can't prove that, but I believe that <…>! We're sending these arms to Ukraine, billions, hundreds of billions of dollars, and it's being stolen and sold to our actual enemies," the journalist emphasized
Ukrainian army selling US weapons to Mexican cartels, Tucker Carlson says

He certainly can't prove anything. The Cartels are not stupid enough to attack the US however this does not take away the possibility of a false flag attack under the auspices of the CIA. The people who are directly suffering from the illegal arms trade are Mexican families.

In Mexico there is what is called "drug trafficking culture" supported by television series, music bands and poverty. There is this idea among young people that belonging to a Cartel not only lifts you out of poverty overnight, it also gives you power, women, recognition.

For example, the series "El Señor de los Cielos" (The Lord of Sky) is a Mexican-American television drama produced by Telemundo and Argos Comunication. It centers on the life of Aurelio Casillas, a fictional character inspired by real drug trafficking figures. The plot follows Aurelio's rise in the world of organized crime, from humble beginnings to becoming one of the most powerful and feared drug traffickers.

Power, this is what attracted many young men and women to the killing fields. The authorities mention that the way in which young people are recruited is through advertisements offering employment and an excellent salary... Once in the clutches of the Cartels there is only one way out and that is usually death.

I wonder if the CIA has anything to do with promoting this "culture" as it did on other occasions. It is known that the CIA financed cultural projects as part of its strategy to counter governments not aligned with the US geopolitical vision.

yet it supports Trump's rhetoric of military intervention to protect America from Cartels and save Mexicans in the process

Personally I don't see it as rhetoric but an actual necessity. The misnomer in my opinion is that the media narrative diminishes the "cartels" to just ruthless drug dealers. But if you look over the years and consider the amount of infrastructure they build to support their operations (ie. they had built their own private LTE networks nearly a decade ago, private fuel depots/gas stations scattered across the northern part of MX, airstrips and shipping ports, etc.) they are just as capable as an overt state government to support day-to-day operations. This employs many Americans as well as Mexicans and the washing of money into "legitimate" businesses on both sides of the border creates a level of loyalty that is going to be hard for millions of families when it gets dissolved.

Makes me wonder if there is actually a power balance between the government and the cartels

I have wondered about this as well and living just a few counties away from the border and hearing first hand I have come to the conclusional currently that the situation is more akin to tribalism. The major metro areas are legitimized bubbles of international money laundering, the tourist regions are held hostage by warring factions of "security services" that extort enough peace so as to not freak out the American and Europeans from coming to spend money, the mineral and timber rich areas in places like the Chihuahuan region or Chiapas being stripped of national resources but not sold via international trade agreements, the entire country is essentially "privatized" by sociopathic gangs of thieves. Drugs are a side hustle.

Wouldn't have thought it was that bad...

It is pretty bad, but if you think about the Alamo and that the battle wasn't ever won and the "Hispanic vs Anglo" mindset in the US regions adjacent to the border, you realize that the infiltration of the pathocratic leaders running very large cities in the US is the bigger problem. Moreso than the forced conscripts of the tribal drug dealers that have no value of life at all. So pretty bad and the lid is about to come off on the pressure cooker that has been building for a couple hundred years.

@rognaill "think about the Alamo and that the battle wasn't ever won and the "Hispanic vs Anglo" mindset in the US"

This statement got me thinking, but I'm not really sure what you meant about "the battle wasn't ever won".

I'm puzzling with where this US MEX thing is going to go. It's kind of fuzzy right now, but all the parts and pieces are on the table for something volatile and not grass roots, but AstroTurf-ed. I'm posting some C's statements below that may or may not have something to do with this.

(Joe) Revolution?

A: Exactly. Remember the Alamo!!

A: Mexico is in kahoots!

Let me play Devil’s advocate a minute and say: What if it is grass roots?

I’ve been thinking for the last year about perhaps the Cartels “the baddies” will actually stand between us and the Quantum Borg that seek to enslave us. The one group of oligarchs prepping us for injections and interface with the Quantum big brother, and another oligarch group that see that as an existential threat to their existence.

Can you imagine a cartel member being refused hamburger, and told tofu for you, or we will cut you off? Their whole kingdom exists on something to trade that can be hidden whether it is paper, gold coins or sea shells. All their transactions would be shut down, and they would soon be degaussed. It could be a revolution of freedom vs the Borg. Baddie freedom, but freedom none the less.

Just a thought
