Seriously, I'm personally not expecting anything in particular tied to that date. I understand 12-21-12 is the beginning of the Mayan's fourteenth 394 year solar cycle, but I haven't been persuaded of any reason to link any significant event to that day because of that day.

Regarding the cosmic stuff like planetary alignments and whatnot, my attitude is simply 'wait and see' and be prepared for anything as best as possible.

There is a possibility for the PTB to use the hysteria surrounding the alleged 21st of December to their benefit. All they need is to push some fanatics here and there to mass suicide or something stupid, and with the actual wave of killings, blame it all on "the internet" and on alternative websites in general.

I just assumed the Mayans had ten fingers and ten toes and they'd naturally go for that base 20 counting system. Of course, I realize that doesn't sound terribly scientific. :)

Perhaps another 9/11 - style event, something that causes a similar shock factor for the 1st world, something that would cause too a major financial crash that can't be recovered? Might not though be synced with 2012… next year, maybe? My thinking lately has been that all the exposes about the financial system, the cabal, corporate psychopaths etc. actually assists in part by building a tangible scapegoat, i.e. - the ruling elite and their financial system. Better for the PTB to redirect the real threat (people working on themselves, waking up and becoming self responsible) and instead blame something external, like the financial system. It would be easy to swallow because it's actually a major symptom. And then it's just a matter of a saviour / or group (pretend ETs for instance?) who will be in a ripe position to free the world with some great (most likely digital) alternative to the financial system and the psychopaths that run it. Problem is it will be just another means for people giving their power to a "father" control system, like we're already doing, and still be at the whim of the same PTB. I thought the movie "in time" was an interesting take on what the PTB would take on instead of money. All speculation of course, but that's what this thread's about I believe :)

I think this is a very interesting "prediction" - that the PTB will abandon one layer of the control system, like you said, maybe the world financial system, which many people think is the main reason for our misery today, and present a new "solution" with other psychopaths in power. Maybe a "world democracy" based on digital technology/digital, centralised voting procedures and a new digital currency? I don't think the PTB need to introduce ET's at this point...

Anyway, I'm busy making plans for 2013, while trying to prepare for a cold winter and expecting the unexpected...
