Three Months Left of 2012 - Register Your Predictions HERE!

I can't wait to read the session from today - I think it's going to be the coolest one yet (but than again I think that about every new session ;D)

I also can't wait to see the videos of the karaoke, Gandalf is right, Laura does the BEST Amazing Grace.

If I end up doing any Karaoke I'll be singing some Patsy Cline

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jWeCdxZlU5E my favorite song - Walkin' After Midnight.

Strangely, the bus was empty. And the streets were kinda empty in this morning while I was coming to the lab.
Perhaps the world did end for some? Rapture? :)
Maybe we were left behind for blasphemy against monotheism.

Most of them are probably in bunkers or mountains.

The news is full of people making money of this.

That's so lovely =) I was just thinking the other day how it seems that dogs are STO orientated companions, and cats STS. The thought was probably triggered by something I had been reading - I am still working my way through the Secret History.
On a similar theme I read an interesting passage from a comic :
"A tree is a symbol of many things. It is life, it is stillness and patience, it is wise, for it grows old and remains rooted to the earth while still reaching for the skies. A tree also grows by giving its fruits to those in need. It has no ambition, and yet its purpose is as noble as any knights could wish for."
I found it thought provoking =)

So far nothing earth-moving happening here yet that I know of! The only difference so far to a 'normal' day is that the local trains were running late due to flooding further south.

I feel that those who have invested in the 'End of World' theories, and donated to causes and wasted their money on hidey-holes and 'safe' houses - are contributing to a knock-on effect problem that will arise when the end of the world does not happen the way they are expecting. People may have quit their jobs and 'planned' for there to be no tomorrow, but beyond that, I wonder how they will cope with the possibility of not getting their jobs back, not being able to afford food, or not having a place to live if they've sold their homes. I wonder if the governments will be compelled to support these silly people, feeding and homing them using taxpayers money.

Last night the tail end of Winter Storm Draco brushed us with some serious wind gusts, we lost power, and the whole town went dark.

I was sitting here thinking ...."geeeezzzz, what if the Mayans were right? but I checked my cell phone, and the rest of the world was still here.

"Winter Storm Draco" on 12/21/12 Really? Who thinks up these names?

Some power lines went out last night near my parents with an interesting light show and power outage. I thought well the apocalypse is a little early and all, but it has been a good run.

Hello people!
For me the main lesson of this year was not to expect anything.
Just let the Cosmos do what it has to.:)
I was learning whole month because exactly at this moment I supposed to have
very big and hard exam about first half of 20th century(wars and other ugly things).
I didn't see the notice from the beginning of the month that the exam was YESTERDAY!
I've seen it yesterday in the evening, 7 hours later. I felt like it was the end of the world for me for a while.
So I've missed it and I'm here with you right now :D
It' doesn't matter what will happen today or tomorrow, we can't effect it.
Instead should be aware of moments we have and enjoy them.

The universe woke me up at 4:48am, so I did my breathing exercises. We've been under a wind advisory for 30 hours with another 10 to go. They keep extending it. Originally, it was supposed to end 7 hours ago at midnight. Other than that, so far so good.

To my knowledge, it is the first time that Laura said that she was going to do a session on a specific date.

So, since we know it, each of us can have special thoughts about that tonight and say a warm hello to the C's, Laura and the crew while they will have that session. :hug2:

What a wonderful suggestion, as to be connected wherever we are! Thanks Gandalf. ;)

Our youngest daughter text-ed us last night around our time midnight to let us know that she loved and missed us, just "in case" the world was not here in the morning. She was of course being sarcastic. I text-ed her back saying that we loved and missed her as well and that it was already 12/21/12 in China and that I hadn't heard that half the planet was gone. ;)

Will definitely be sending lots of love over to the chateau all day, plus will be doing POTS for the service to all sometime this day.

A blessed solstice to you all.

Here's the Weather Channel's 'reasoning': http://www.weather.com/news/why-we-name-winter-storms-20121001

and a counterpoint: http://blogs.courier-journal.com/watchdogearth/2012/12/20/naming-winter-storms-a-power-play-by-the-weather-channel/

Yeah, great idea. It's similar to doing EE at times when others around the world are doing it. But this is the first time with a C's session. Also, it's the first time I know that a session will be held (whether it's the first time others have known that a session will happen on a certain date, I'm not sure) and can't wait to read the transcript. Usually, I just get a great surprise that a new session transcript has been posted without having had any idea that it was coming.
