Flynn in talks to testify in Trump-Russia probe if assured of immunity

Former National Security Adviser Mike Flynn is in discussions with the House and Senate intelligence committees to receive immunity from prosecution in exchange for questioning about potential ties between Russia and officials in President Donald Trump's campaign, his lawyer said Thursday.

In a statement, Flynn's attorney Robert Kelner said the retired Army lieutenant general "certainly has a story to tell, and he very much wants to tell it, should the circumstances permit."

The discussions were first reported by the Wall Street Journal. The report cited officials who said that Flynn has made offers to the FBI and the House and Senate intelligence committees through Kelner but has so far found no takers.

Jack Langer, a spokesman for House intelligence committee chairman Rep. Devin Nunes, R-Calif., said Flynn had not offered to testify before the committee in exchange for immunity. However, Langer did not say whether or not Flynn had spoken to committee members about a possible deal.

A congressional aide confirmed to the Associated Press that discussions with the Senate intelligence committee involved immunity. The aide spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss private conversations.

In his statement, Kelner said that "no reasonable person ... would submit to questioning in such a highly politicized, witch hunt environment without assurances against unfair prosecution."

Flynn's ties to Russia have been scrutinized by the FBI and are under investigation by the House and Senate intelligence committees. Both committees are looking into Russia's meddling in the 2016 presidential election and any ties between Trump associates and the Kremlin.

Since July, the FBI has been conducting a counterintelligence investigation into Russia's interference in the election and possible coordination with Trump associates.

Four other Trump associates have come forward in recent weeks, saying they would talk to the committees. As of Wednesday, the Senate intelligence committee had asked to interview 20 people as part of the probe.

In his statement, Kelner said the political climate in which Flynn is facing "claims of treason and vicious innuendo" is factoring into his negotiations with the committees.

Flynn was fired from his job as President Donald Trump's first national security adviser after it was disclosed that he misled the vice president about a conversation he had with the Russian ambassador to the U.S. during the transition.

In the weeks after he resigned, Flynn and his business registered with the Justice Department as foreign agents for $530,000 worth of lobbying work that could have benefited the Turkish government.

The lobbying occurred while Flynn was a top Trump campaign adviser. The Turkish businessman who hired Flynn, Ekim Alptekin, has told the AP that Flynn's firm registered under pressure from the Justice Department.

Who they really are going all in for this soft-coup isn't it? I bet Flynn is under a lot of pressure to make a false testimony :scared: I hope he stands firm, Trump isn't done with them just yet (I hope)

Is this Trump trying to give a message that he can also arrest people based on treason?

State Department Official Supplied Information to Chinese Intelligence for Cash
http://freebeacon.com/national-security/state-department-official-supplied-information-chinese-intelligence-cash/
The FBI has arrested a State Department official who is charged with concealing extensive contacts with China's intelligence service.

Candace Marie Claiborne, an office management specialist who held a top-secret security clearance, faces charges of obstructing an FBI probe and making false statements about years-long contacts with two Chinese intelligence agents.

Claiborne, 60, worked for the State Department since 1999 and was posted at the headquarters in Washington, as well as U.S. diplomatic posts in Beijing and Shanghai, along with posts in Baghdad and Khartoum, Sudan.

A criminal complaint in the case said she conspired with two Chinese intelligence agents working for the Shanghai State Security Bureau. She also worked with a fourth person who is a male U.S. citizen and relative of Claiborne's who was not identified by name but labeled "Co-conspirator A" in court papers.

The case is one of the first Chinese espionage-related operations involving a U.S. citizen to surface in nearly 10 years.

Other recent illegal intelligence activity by the Chinese government mainly has involved illicit acquisition of U.S. technology.

Disclosure of the Chinese intelligence operation targeting a State Department official with access to secrets comes a week before President Trump is set to meet China's leader Xi Jinping in Florida.

U.S.-China relations remain strained over Chinese hacking of U.S. government and private sector computers and China's maritime claims to control areas of the South China Sea and East China Sea.

The charges against Claiborne were filed in federal court in Washington, D.C.

Claiborne pleaded not guilty on Wednesday during a hearing before Magistrate Judge Robin M. Meriweather. A preliminary hearing in the case is scheduled for April 18.

If convicted, Claiborne faces a maximum of 20 years in prison for obstruction of justice and five years in prison for making false statements to the FBI.

The FBI counterintelligence investigation revealed that Claiborne was coopted into working with Chinese intelligence beginning around 2010 in exchange for cash and gifts.

Claiborne was first posted to the U.S. Embassy in Beijing in 1999. She remained there until June 2003 when she moved to Shanghai.

The person identified as "Co-conspirator A" lived with Claiborne when she was posted to Shanghai.

After a stint in Baghdad, Claiborne returned to the U.S. Embassy in Beijing in November 2009 and remained there until 2012.

The complaint states that Claiborne received a task from one of the Chinese intelligence agents in May 2011 and failed to report it as required under security rules.

The task came a month after the Chinese spy wired $2,500 to Claiborne's bank account in the United States.

The agent sought information from Claiborne on "internal United States government positions on matters of U.S.-Sino relations," specifically the U.S.-China Strategic Economic Dialogue, high-level U.S.-China talks launched by the Obama administration, the complaint said.

Chinese intelligence also sought information from Claiborne on what pressure the U.S. government planned to put on China and the "internal attitudes" of senior U.S. officials, according to the complaint.

Claiborne held meetings with the Chinese agents and used a Chinese social media application to communicate covertly with the agents.

"Claiborne appeared motivated by the profitable nature of her information-sharing relationship with the [People's Republic of China intelligence service] agents," the complaint says, adding that her journal indicated she could make $20,000 a year working for the spy service.

The FBI alleges Claiborne received gifts and benefits worth tens of thousands of dollars from the Chinese.

Claiborne supported the unidentified co-conspirator by paying college tuition for the person in China.

The complaint quotes Claiborne, apparently from surveillance, as telling Co-conspirator A that she was concerned about the risks of illegally working with Chinese intelligence.

"I really don't want my neck or your neck in a noose regarding another party/person that has made this possible for you," she was quoted as saying, apparently from an intercepted email.

Claiborne did not disclose the contacts with Chinese intelligence during her five-year security clearance renewal and misled State Department security and FBI officials.

Some time around 2014, an FBI undercover agent posing as a Chinese intelligence officer contacted Claiborne and told her that the Ministry of State Security, China's civilian spy service, considered her one of the agency's "highest regarded" friends.

Among the gifts and benefits she received between 2010 and 2014 were thousands of dollars in cash, jewelry, slippers, meals, an Apple computer, and travel expenses.

A search of Claiborne's journal in 2015 revealed the contacts with Chinese intelligence and the payments.

Both Claiborne and Co-conspirator A were questioned and searched by Customs and Border Protection agents after returning from China, searches that raised suspicions they were under surveillance by U.S. authorities.

The FBI questioned Claiborne in August 2016 when she denied having any foreign government contacts while in China and also made other statements that led to the false statement charges.

In January, an ethnically Chinese FBI undercover agent talked to Claiborne while posing as a Chinese spy.

On Tuesday, she returned to the FBI office in Washington and acknowledged the relationship with the two Chinese intelligence officers, the complaint says. "Claiborne admitted to passing information to [the two Chinese agents], both orally and in writing but insisted she always provided unclassified information," the complaint said.

"Candace Claiborne is accused of violating her oath of office as a State Department employee, who was entrusted with Top Secret information when she purposefully misled federal investigators about her significant and repeated interactions with foreign contacts," said Andrew W. Vale, assistant FBI director of the Washington Field Office.

"The FBI will continue to investigate individuals who, though required by law, fail to report foreign contacts, which is a key indicator of potential insider threats posed by those in positions of public trust," he said in a statement.

Added Mary B. McCord, acting assistant attorney general for national security: "Candace Marie Claiborne is a U.S. State Department employee who possesses a Top Secret security clearance and allegedly failed to report her contacts with Chinese foreign intelligence agents who provided her with thousands of dollars of gifts and benefits.

"Claiborne used her position and her access to sensitive diplomatic data for personal profit," she added.

Flynn in talks to testify in Trump-Russia probe if assured of immunity

Hi, m and bjorn, I heard on Alex Jones last night this report is false. However, it does look like the Democrats (Clinton's,) ties to Russia are coming out in a substantial way right now.

It is still to early to say what the heck is going on. Trump, looks like he's loosing and then new evidence and scandals are revealed making it seem like the "bad guys" could go down. Also, if a plan is afoot to oust the corruption, Trump is going to be low key and not tip off his hand. The appearance of him being unable to do much could be biding time and be a bluff.

Also the possibility that we are watching a elaborate, well orchestrated plan to take out one faction of the NWO bunch and replace them with another is something I still consider.

Hi, m and bjorn, I heard on Alex Jones last night this report is false.

I need to clarify this statement. This is from Infowars on the issue and AJ mentioned specifically the Fox report being misleading.

While the media is acting like Michael Flynn is preparing to blow the whistle on imaginary Russian interference in our election, his actual statement reads very differently.
USA Today is the only outlet which accurately reported on this story under the headline: “Flynn lawyer: Client wants assurances against ‘witch-hunt’ prosecution.”

In a development that could have substantial implications to the ongoing "Russia hacked the US elections" narrative, United Arab Emirates media reports that Dubai police have arrested a group of foreign hackers that targeted five White House officials in an email blackmail scheme.

Dubai Police Arrest Hackers Who Broke Into "Highly Confidential" White House Emails
http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2017-04-03/dubai-police-arrest-hackers-who-broke-highly-confidential-white-house-emails

The Arabic-language Al Bayan newspaper and the television channel Dubai One reported the arrests on Monday according to AP. Dubai police did not answer repeated calls for comment.

The Al Bayan quoted Maj. Saud al-Khalidi of Dubai police as saying an "African gang", broke into the emails of the five senior officials and "got highly confidential information."

He said the U.S. asked Dubai police for assistance. Al-Khalidi said that investigators tracked down the gang to an apartment in the emirate of Ajman and arrested three suspects. Those arrested are between 24 and 26 years of age and had a list of "5 million bank accounts," as well as hacking software and millions of dollars in assets, he said.

The major said the three people had entered the UAE on visitor visas a few years ago. The reports did not identify the White House officials targeted. Al-Khalidi reportedly said those suspects would be handed over to the United States for possible criminal trials.

The U.S. Embassy in Abu Dhabi did not respond to requests for comment.

As we await more official details, the google translated report from Al Bayan report is below:

Dubai Police have arrested an organized African gang that broke the e-mail of senior White House officials in the United States of America, Dr. Saud al-Khalidi, head of information and development at the Dubai Police Department of Investigation and Criminal Investigation, revealed. The intention to sell and exploit the information is the purpose of confidentiality obtained by them.

Maj. Khalid al-Khalidi told Al-Bayan that the details of the incident were due to the receipt of official mail from the competent authorities in the United States stating that the e-mail of 5 senior White House officials had been hacked and that the infiltrators sent blackmail messages to the US presidency. Information was highly confidential and it was noted that hackers were suspected within the UAE. All available information was immediately received and a team of experts and cybercriminals was established. Within two hours, the penetration site was identified in one of the emirates.

Majid Khalidi said that the location of the penetration was determined accurately and in coordination with the competent authorities in the Emirate of Ajman was raided the site was an apartment run by an African gang organized by 3 people and resisted the authorities and try to escape, but they were controlled, and found on the site on computers and devices The hackers are also known to have specialized in hacking operations and sell the information they receive in large amounts, and it is not the first process they do, but the first from within the state, where the perpetrators used to change the countries in which they manage their operations.

Precedents

Al Khalidi pointed out that the defendants were brought to the competent authorities and that after the end of their sentence within the UAE they will be handed over to the US authorities. This case has established the great expertise of the Dubai Police, especially in electronic crimes, which are considered complex crimes.

Eli Lake: Top Obama Aide Susan Rice Behind Unmasking Of Trump Associates
http://www.informationliberation.com/?id=56522

From Bloomberg:

White House lawyers last month discovered that the former national security adviser Susan Rice requested the identities of U.S. persons in raw intelligence reports on dozens of occasions that connect to the Donald Trump transition and campaign, according to U.S. officials familiar with the matter.

The pattern of Rice's requests was discovered in a National Security Council review of the government's policy on "unmasking" the identities of individuals in the U.S. who are not targets of electronic eavesdropping, but whose communications are collected incidentally. Normally those names are redacted from summaries of monitored conversations and appear in reports as something like "U.S. Person One."

The National Security Council's senior director for intelligence, Ezra Cohen-Watnick, was conducting the review, according to two U.S. officials who spoke with Bloomberg View on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss it publicly. In February Cohen-Watnick discovered Rice's multiple requests to unmask U.S. persons in intelligence reports that related to Trump transition activities. He brought this to the attention of the White House General Counsel's office, who reviewed more of Rice's requests and instructed him to end his own research into the unmasking policy.

The intelligence reports were summaries of monitored conversations -- primarily between foreign officials discussing the Trump transition, but also in some cases direct contact between members of the Trump team and monitored foreign officials. One U.S. official familiar with the reports said they contained valuable political information on the Trump transition such as whom the Trump team was meeting, the views of Trump associates on foreign policy matters and plans for the incoming administration.

Obama's top aide spied on Trump's associates and then used the information against him. This is Watergate.

...Rice herself has not spoken directly on the issue of unmasking. Last month when she was asked on the "PBS NewsHour" about reports that Trump transition officials, including Trump himself, were swept up in incidental intelligence collection, Rice said: "I know nothing about this," adding, "I was surprised to see reports from Chairman Nunes on that account today."

...The news about Rice also sheds light on the strange behavior of Nunes in the last two weeks. It emerged last week that he traveled to the White House last month, the night before he made an explosive allegation about Trump transition officials caught up in incidental surveillance. At the time he said he needed to go to the White House because the reports were only on a database for the executive branch. It now appears that he needed to view computer systems within the National Security Council that would include the logs of Rice's requests to unmask U.S. persons.

She ordered the unmasking. No one had to go into Trump Tower and install an old fashioned wiretap on Trump's servers. The NSA collects all this information, as William Binney said repeatedly, and Susan Rice herself had Trump's associates unmasked so they could spy on them. This whole Russian conspiracy is just a scam to distract from Watergate 2.0. Rice needs to be hauled before congress immediately.

UPDATE: Circa has more:

Intelligence sources said the logs discovered by National Security Council staff suggested Rice’s interest in the NSA materials, some of which included unmasked Americans' identities, appeared to begin last July around the time Trump secured the GOP nomination and accelerated after Trump’s election in November launched a transition that continued through January.

The intelligence reports included some intercepts of Americans talking to foreigners and many more involving foreign leaders talking about the future president, his campaign associates or his transition, the sources said. Most if not all had nothing to do with the Russian election interference scandal,
the sources said, speaking only on condition of anonymity given the sensitive nature of the materials.

Ordinarily, such references to Americans would be redacted or minimized by the NSA before being shared with outside intelligence sources, but in these cases names were sometimes unmasked at the request of Rice or the intelligence reports were specific enough that the American’s identity was easily ascertained, the sources said.

...The NSA can legally intercept foreigners’ conversations without court permission under Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act, but it cannot target Americans’ conversations overseas. If an American is accidentally intercepted or two foreigners are caught talking about an American, that name is supposed to be redacted in intelligence reports and replaced by a description like “U.S. citizen 1.”

But Circa reported last week that Obama opened the door for his political aides like Rice to more easily gain access to unmasked Americans’ names in NSA intercepts through a series of rule changes beginning in 2011.

Michelle Obama tried to register to run for President in 2020 with the Secretary of State’s office this morning, the first step on a long to-do list to get a person on the ballot.

Michelle Obama Just Tried To Register To Run For President But Was DENIED!
http://www.usapoliticstoday.com/michelle-obama-register-run-president-denied/

Once certified as a potential candidate, the process of gathering signatures and getting on the ballots in the individual states begins. The State Department’s only job is to make sure that the candidate meets the three constitutional requirements to be president.

The first she meets easily. She is over thirty-five-years-old. The second she also meets having been born in the United Sates.

The third requirement, one few people think about, is where she came up short. You must be a resident “within the united states” for 14 years before you’re eligible. Why she doesn’t qualify is partly how she was raised but mostly of her own doing.

As a child, Michelle Obama’s legal residence was in the British Virgin Islands. Her parents kept it that way so she would be eligible for immigrant status and special consideration for schooling.

Between birth and age 22, when she graduated college, Michelle Obama had only racked up two years of legal, US residency.

After college, in order to avoid paying taxes, she kept an address in the Cayman Islands from which she filed all of her tax returns. Therefore, none of the years between the time she graduated and the time she became First Lady count either.

While in the White House, the Obamas filed joint returns, giving her another seven years of residency. At nine years of residency, she is ineligible to be president.

She will qualify in 2021, meaning she will miss the next cycle and we won’t have to watch her campaign for the next four years.

What a relief. The thought of listening to her speak eloquently and be all “politically correct” and empathetic to the plight of “average Americans” (AKA welfare freeloaders) would have caused a wave of nausea across the country.

According to this financial newsletter, What Trump is doing right now via his border-adjustment tax, additional tax reform, and regulatory rollback is targeting all three of the Deep State's money streams at the same time. He claims, if Trump prevails on these three issues (which is supposedly almost certain), all of the power that has been consolidated in D.C. over the past 40 years will evaporate. Because of this threat, the Deep State is waging a vicious battle, which has become blatantly obvious in recent months.

The 'Deep State' Is Fighting Back
By Porter Stansberry
Tuesday, April 4, 2017

A secret civil war is being waged right now in Washington D.C…

It is about to have a HUGE impact on our country.

We're approaching what will be the most dangerous period in our country's political history since the Great Depression. What could happen next scares me. But I continue to be optimistic that what will unfold will be great for our country.

I'm certain that you simply won't believe much of what I'll tell you today. In fact, until I did my own follow-up research to verify what I could from my sources, I disregarded this story as "political nonsense" or just another D.C. conspiracy theory.

Besides… it was all too horrible to believe. But then… almost everything my sources told me would happen started happening.

Let's begin…

Did you know the U.S. government has a secrecy designation so restricted that virtually nobody – not even lifetime members of the intelligence community – even knows what it's called?

It's not "TOP SECRET." It's way beyond that level.

In late 2009, President Obama created this new level of secrecy inside our government with an executive order (No. 13526) – so Congress never approved it. Administered by the CIA, this new level of secrecy has created a covert government-within-the-government that almost nobody knows… and absolutely nobody is monitoring.

If you've ever heard the term the "Deep State" – the secret government-within-the-government that actually holds power – then you know why a level of secrecy beyond "top secret" is so important. This new, more restricted level of secrecy was created so that the most powerful leaders of our government could communicate in total isolation.

This level of secrecy is such a closely guarded secret that the name of the program itself is classified – and divulging the name is a crime, punishable by at least 10 years in a secret prison. So this level of security clearance is known only as "codeword."

At the highest levels of our D.C. government, only two dozen or so people have codeword clearances…

I learned about this earlier this month. I was invited to lunch with someone who has held that level of security clearance. He told me about the existence of the codeword-level program. This isn't a rumor. It's a fact.

For the last 30-plus years, my source has worked for and around the highest levels of our government. He is currently regarded as the president's most likely choice to become our next Federal Reserve chairman.

Today, however, his clients include the world's top hedge-fund managers and the leaders of America's biggest corporations. He is, in short, America's corporate representative of the Deep State.

We call him the "Metropolitan Man."

We met about a year ago. He reached out to me through a mutual friend – one of the best, young hedge-fund managers in New York. He asked me to join him for dinner at the Metropolitan Club in New York, one of the most elite clubs in the United States.

(Legendary banker J.P. Morgan founded the club. It's where billionaire investor Warren Buffett held his 50th birthday party. And it sits at the southeast corner of Central Park, across from The Plaza Hotel, with a great view of Columbus Circle.)

At the time, the Metropolitan Man was forecasting – correctly – that the world's central bankers and their negative-interest-rate policy were failing… and that they would soon trigger a global run out of paper money and into gold. Over the next several months, gold and gold stocks soared (as you may remember).

A few days ago, the Metropolitan Man asked to see me again…

He wanted to talk about something he had never seen before in all his years working in the government.

For the first time ever, a codeword-level secret was leaked to the press. Nothing this sensitive has ever been leaked before – ever.

Among senior leaders in D.C., it is widely believed that the director of the CIA himself was responsible for the codeword leak. And it's rumored that this information was then passed to the press through New York Senator Chuck Schumer's office.

What was leaked?

It was the codeword-level secret CIA briefing about a meeting in Trump Tower last December… between a Russian ambassador and two senior Trump administration officials – Jared Kushner and Michael Flynn.

When Flynn lied about the meeting to the White House staff, he was fired. But the deeper question is: How did the CIA know about the meeting? How did it know how long the meeting lasted? How did it know exactly what was discussed? And how did that information end up in the hands of a New York Times reporter?

This backstory explains how Trump knows the CIA was spying on Trump Tower. And the counternarratives – Trump's claim that Obama was spying on him and the Democrats' claim that Trump is in league with Russia – are the beginning of a serious war. A civil war inside the Deep State itself.

Reading the newspapers won't explain how this war is being fought…

They will never publish a clear explanation of the battle lines – or even who is fighting or why. But the outcome of these battles is likely to determine the fate of our economy for the next several decades.

Let me explain why… and tell you what this fight is really about…

For the last 40 or so years, the U.S. economy has been built around a model that created vast power in D.C.

This model has a few important components…

First, we have a highly "progressive" income tax. Without extremely progressive income-tax rates – where about half the country pays nothing and the top 10% pay for roughly 80% – the electorate would never continue to vote for more and more government. But it does, mostly because it doesn't have to pay for it.

Second, the government has a powerful regulatory regime in place. This allows D.C. to essentially control vast segments of our economy. Take Wall Street, for example. Who gets to sell a bond or a stock to the public? Nobody the Securities and Exchange Commission doesn't like (i.e. yours truly). This power results in tremendous amounts of "tribute" – legal fees, fines, and hidden lobbying that flows into D.C. and feeds its economic ecosystem.

And finally… there's the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) and "free" trade. Our country has the ability to export all of the inflation generated by our central bank. This has led to decades of lower and lower interest rates and the government's ability to borrow essentially endless amounts of money without any serious inflationary consequences.

These three components form the foundations of Washington's power. Attack any of them, and you risk a huge fight with the Deep State.

What Trump is doing right now via his border-adjustment tax, additional tax reform, and regulatory rollback is targeting all three of them at the same time. If he wins, all of the power that has been consolidated in D.C. over the past 40 years will evaporate.

Trump has put a metaphorical gun to the head of the Deep State…

And now, the Deep State is fighting back, tooth and nail, to protect the system it has built.

Look at what has happened to the middle class in America over the last 40 years…

Did NAFTA prevent price inflation by allowing America's consumer economy the luxury of accessing the world's cheapest labor? Yes, it did. But the flip side was devastating to the entire manufacturing industry in the U.S.

And where did the resulting wealth flow? To D.C., and to the top 1% of America's wealthiest people who were able to access foreign markets (and shield the resulting income from America's tax system).

Meanwhile, America remains the only industrial country in the world with global income taxation (you have to pay federal income tax, no matter where you live) and without a value-added tax. In short, we've chosen a system that punishes wage earners, while rewarding individuals and corporations who use overseas labor. The result has been a decline in real, after-tax wages over the last 40 years. That's a recipe to destroy the middle class – and that's what has happened.

Trump's plan to effectively lower income taxes to 25% (maximum) and implement a value-added tax to discourage foreign production of U.S. goods will turn this entire economic structure on its ear and disenfranchise the Deep State that controls it. The winners will be the middle class, small-business owners, wage earners, and America's manufacturing base. The losers? Those who have invested heavily in the current Deep State regime.

Why is this scary?

Well, unlike the health-reform issue, the Metropolitan Man assured me that Trump's tax-reform agenda would certainly pass. "It's a done deal," he said. He told me that his job lately "has been to help major corporations understand what will be in the new laws and how they will impact various markets." That means the Deep State has been pushed into a corner. What it might do next, no one knows.

"That it would leak a codeword secret… Well, I would have told you that couldn't happen. I've never seen it before, not in more than 30 years in D.C. It's scary because if it'll do that, it'll do anything. Stage a terrorist attack? Start a war with China? Nothing is impossible anymore."

That's the downside.

The next several months could see our government erupt into open civil war. The FBI accusing the president of treason… The president accusing a director of the CIA of breaking the law and having him arrested. Who knows where this will lead?

On the other hand, assuming the government doesn't collapse into a civil war, Trump's new economic model will become a reality before the end of the year. A new economic regime is coming in America. For some industries (and for most Americans) these changes will bring massive prosperity. And for others – especially for companies and individuals who have been living at the government trough, tough times are looming.

It's the first time CNN ever said "We don't want to insult your intelligence" to the public. Too late I think.

Well, I dunno if it's too late. Lots of people believe CNN and the so-called mainstream media because they have been programmed to do so from birth. They will move along if told to. Those few with a modicum of critical-thinking skills will become curious and possibly go off the grid for answers.

One can see that the MSM is at times literally in bed with the Clinton and the Obama Machines. Here's a list sent to me by a conservative co-worker:

ABC News executive producer Ian Cameron is married to Susan Rice, National Security Adviser.

CBS President David Rhodes is the brother of Ben Rhodes, Obama’s Deputy National Security Adviser for Strategic Communications.

ABC News correspondent Claire Shipman is married to former Whitehouse Press Secretary Jay Carney

ABC News and Univision reporter Matthew Jaffe is married to Katie Hogan, Obama’s Deputy Press Secretary

ABC President Ben Sherwood is the brother of Obama’s Special Adviser Elizabeth Sherwood

CNN President Virginia Moseley is married to former Hillary Clinton’s Deputy Secretary Tom Nides.

The Freedom of Information Act lawsuit against the Department of Justice requests any records pertaining to surveillance of US President Donald Trump or anyone working with his campaign during the 2016 election season.

Seeking Records of Trump Surveillance, USA Today Files Suit Against DOJ
https://sputniknews.com/us/201704041052297315-usa-today-foia-lawsuit-trump-surveillance/

The lawsuit was filed in a US District Court in Washington, DC, on Tuesday morning.

USA Today reporter Brad Heath had filed a FOIA request with the FBI on March 6, two days after Trump made the explosive claim on Twitter, requesting records of surveillance "in their entirety,” but has not yet received any “substantive response” from the bureau.

Heath seeks to determine “whether there was an order issued by the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court (‘FISC’) authorizing surveillance of and/or collection of information implicating President Donald J. Trump,” according to the lawsuit.

The suit cites Representative Devin Nunes stating that campaign officials were surveilled under the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act. Though FISA records are generally kept secret, Heath has argued that comments by Trump and White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer "constitute prior official disclosure," and that the records should now be made public.

Former National Security Adviser Susan Rice is denying that the Obama administration abused intelligence surveillance for political purposes, but Senator Rand Paul is now calling for a full investigation and for her to testify under oath.

Susan Rice Denies Trump Team Targeted, Senator Calls for Investigation

“It is becoming clear that Rice ‘unmasked’ US citizens, including the Trump campaign and others. She is a White House political employee and we need to get to the bottom of who she did this to, why, and who else knew about it. She needs to be under full investigation and testify under oath,” Paul’s chief strategist, Doug Stafford, told Sputnik News.

Paul also asserted on Monday that he believes that what the intelligence community did could be considered wiretapping – as President Donald Trump infamously alleged.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov dismissed media reports about an alleged secret meeting in January in the Seychelles of Russian President Vladimir Putin's representative with Blackwater private US military company founder Erik Prince.

'Nonsense': Kremlin Denies Representative of Putin Met With Blackwater Founder

The Washington Post wrote Monday citing unnamed US, European and Arab officials that the UAE had arranged in January a secret meeting between Prince and "a Russian close to President Vladimir Putin" in order to allegedly establish a "back-channel line of communication" between the Russian and US authorities.

"This is complete nonsense," Peskov told reporters when asked to comment on the publication.

During Shaheen’s rant on the Senate floor on Tuesday, she lobbied for a bill she proposed last month which would give the Department of Justice additional powers to investigate Russian media’s “funding sources and foreign connections.”

“Our bill will give the Department of Justice new and necessary authority to investigate potential violations of the Foreign Agents Registration Act by RT America,” Shaheen said. “This act was passed in the late 1930s in response to concerns about Nazi propaganda being disseminated in the United States without people knowing what it was. Well, this, I think, is absolutely appropriate today for us to take a look at what Russia and other countries may be doing to our news.”

CNN's Chris Cuomo said Tuesday the bombshell report showing Obama's national security adviser Susan Rice "unmasked" the identity of Trump campaign associates who were being spied on by US intelligence agencies is a "fake scandal."

CNN is in full meltdown mode trying to cover-up this unprecedented, Watergate-level spying scandal.

CNN's Don Lemon said yesterday he refused to "insult" viewers' "intelligence" by covering the "diversion."

"Let us be very clear about this. There is no evidence whatsoever that the Trump team… was spied on illegally," Lemon said on his show Monday, diverting from the fact the Obama administration changed the rules to make such spying legal.

"There is no evidence that backs up the president's original claim," he said to divert from the new revelations. "And on this program tonight, we will not insult your intelligence by pretending otherwise, nor will we aid and abet the people who are trying to misinform you, the American people, by creating a diversion."

Indeed, CNN exclusively covers diversions about fake Russia scandals to smear Trump and his associates.

Real scandals involving the Obama regime spying on an opposition candidate throughout and after the election is not worthy of their time.

Update: In response to a question Tuesday from NBC News reporter Andrea Mitchell, former Obama White House National Security Adviser Susan Rice denied that she “prepared” spreadsheets of surveilled telephone calls involving Donald Trump and his aides. The Daily Caller News Foundation Investigative Group, however, reported that Rice “ordered” the spreadsheets to be produced.

In addition, former U.S. Attorney Joe DiGenova, one of TheDCNF’s sources, said Tuesday in response to Rice that her denial “would come as quite a surprise to the government officials who have reviewed dozens of those spreadsheets.”

“What was produced by the intelligence community at the request of Ms. Rice were detailed spreadsheets of intercepted phone calls with unmasked Trump associates in perfectly legal conversations with individuals,” diGenova told The Daily Caller News Foundation Investigative Group Monday.

“The overheard conversations involved no illegal activity by anybody of the Trump associates, or anyone they were speaking with,” diGenova said. “In short, the only apparent illegal activity was the unmasking of the people in the calls.”

Other official sources with direct knowledge and who requested anonymity confirmed to TheDCNF diGenova’s description of surveillance reports Rice ordered one year before the 2016 presidential election.

Also on Monday, Fox News and Bloomberg News, citing multiple sources reported that Rice had requested the intelligence information that was produced in a highly organized operation. Fox said the unmasked names of Trump aides were given to officials at the National Security Council (NSC), the Department of Defense, James Clapper, President Obama’s Director of National Intelligence, and John Brennan, Obama’s CIA Director.

Joining Rice in the alleged White House operations was her deputy Ben Rhodes, according to Fox.

Michelle Obama Just Tried To Register To Run For President But Was DENIED!

Hi angelburst29, thanks for all you share here. You have done a lot to keep me informed and everyone I'm sure. About this article above.... I'm thinking this may be "fake news" (sorry to use that term as its becoming way over done). I didn't do a time consuming search but couldn't find any information on Michelle Obama being a legal resident of the Virgin Islands. All that I've seen says she was born and raised in Chicago without mention of any time in the British Virgin Islands. In my search I noticed several websites running this story. So if true, there should be proof somewhere I'd think unless its a big secret for some reason.....

White House Chief Strategist Steve Bannon is no longer a permanent member of the National Security Council (NSC) Principals Committee because he is no longer needed now that former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn is not heading it, a senior White House official told reporters on Wednesday.

Steve Bannon Removed From US National Security Council - White House
https://sputniknews.com/us/201704051052329262-bannon-removed-us-security-council/

Earlier in the day, Bloomberg reported that Steve Bannon has been removed from his post at the US National Security Council.

"Steve was put on the NSC [National Security Council] at the get-go as a check on [Michael] Flynn — when Flynn left… there was no need for Steve to stay on," an anonymous White House official said.

US President Donald Trump has reorganized the National Security Council (NSC) by removing Chief Strategist Steve Bannon from the body, according to a filing written by the White House on Wednesday.

The National Security Presidential Memorandum published on Wednesday does not list Bannon's position, "Assistant to the President and Chief Strategist."

In January, Trump signed an executive order reorganizing the National Security Council and adding Bannon as a permanent member. Currently, Bannon is Trump's political adviser.

In August 2016, Bannon was named as the CEO of Trump's presidential election campaign.

In what the biggest shake-up at the White House since Mike Flynn resigned in February, moments ago Bloomberg reported that President Trump has reorganized his National Security Council on Wednesday, removing his chief strategist, Stephen Bannon as well as downgrading the role of his Homeland Security Adviser, Tom Bossert, while elevating national intelligence director, Dan Coats, and the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Marine Corps General Joseph Dunford, who will again be "regular attendees" of the NSC’s principals committee.

Steve Bannon Removed From Trump's National Security Council
http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2017-04-05/steve-bannon-kicked-trumps-national-security-council

According to Reuters, Bannon's removal from the NSC was seen as a boost to national security adviser H.R. McMaster, who officials said has struggled to work together with Bannon.

McMASTER has made it clear inside WH that he wants NSC to be non-political, especially as he crafts NSC strategy for admin...

— Robert Costa (@costareports) April 5, 2017

Wednesday’s change means Mr. Bannon is no longer part of the NSC. He is still permitted to attend such meetings but won’t automatically be invited to each one.

The WSJ adds that "the decision to boot Bannon was made by Trump’s new national security adviser, Lt. Gen. H.R. McMaster" while another senior administration official said Mr. Trump “signed off on all the changes.”

Bannon said in a statement: “Susan Rice operationalized the NSC during the last administration. I was put on to ensure that it was de-operationalized. General McMaster has returned the NSC to its proper function.”

Additionally, the Joint Chiefs chairman and intelligence director are having their roles on the principals committee restored, the report said.

Bloomberg adds that Susan Rice's successor, National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster, was given responsibility for setting the agenda for meetings of the NSC or the Homeland Security Council, and was authorized to delegate that authority to Bossert, at his discretion, according to the filing.

A White House official said that Bannon was placed on the committee in part to monitor Trump’s first national security adviser, Michael Flynn, and attended just one meeting. He’s no longer needed with McMaster in charge of the council, the official said.

“Steve was put there as a check on [Mike] Flynn,” a second official told the WSJ, referring to the former national security adviser who was forced to resign in February over undisclosed contacts with Russia. With Gen. McMaster now in charge, “there was no longer a need [for Bannon] because they share the same views,” the official said. “The idea initially was to make sure Flynn implemented the vision they had talked about,” the official said.

Said otherwise, perhaps Bannon - and Trump - simply saw no need him being on the committee any longer with Flynn gone; alternatively this could merely be spin.

The memorandum also makes the director of the Central Intelligence Agency a permanent member of the principals committee and restores the chairman of the U.S. military’s Joint Chiefs of Staff and the Director of National Intelligence as permanent members after they were initially downgraded from that status.

As a reminder, back in January, in the first of many unexpected shakeups, Bannon was elevated to a position on the NSC principals committee. The move drew criticism from some members of Congress and Washington’s foreign policy establishment. Republicans and Democrats questioned whether Mr. Bannon’s addition would politicize the White House’s national-security decisions.

The WSJ adds that White House officials had said if Mr. McMaster wanted to change Mr. Bannon’s status, he had the authority to do so. The senior administration official said Mr. Bannon had worked with Mr. McMaster to implement changes in the NSC, and now that they were well underway, he could step aside.

The regulatory filing showing all the changes at the NSC is presented below:

Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn was forced to leave Trump's team due to his alleged ties with Russia, but this was only half the problem given his lobbying for Turkey, Russian academic Gevorg Mirzayan wrote in an op-ed for RIA Novosti. Flynn Intel Group received over $500,000 for three months of work on behalf of a Dutch firm with ties to Ankara.

Michael Flynn's Lobbying for Turkey Adding Fuel to the Fire
https://sputniknews.com/politics/201704031052244496-flynn-turkey-lobbying/

Mike Flynn's failure to initially disclose connections to Russian companies was only part of the reason Donald Trump's former national security adviser lasted less than a month into the new US President's term in office, Gevorg Mirzayan, an associate professor of the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation, noted.

As for Flynn's ties with Moscow, the whole story turned out to be "fictitious," the academic pointed out.

Contrary to the expectations of Flynn's "haters," the disclosure of payments for three speeches that he made to Russian companies didn't confirm earlier claims that the Trump team could have had connections with Russia or Russian secret services.

"Fees for public speeches and even for books (which no one reads) are received by many retired American politicians and officials — and they amount not just to tens of thousands of dollars, like Flynn's, but to hundreds of thousands and even millions of dollars," Mirzayan remarked.

The real problem is in Flynn's ties with Turkey, the academic pointed out.

"The Turkish government paid Flynn almost 500 thousand dollars, and not for speeches, but for lobbying services. In particular, for participating in the campaign against Fethullah Gulen — a Turkish preacher living in the US, the enemy of [Turkish President Recep Tayyip] Erdogan," the academic highlighted.

Covering the issue, Chuck Ross of the Daily Caller wrote that on March 7 Flynn disclosed "that his firm, Flynn Intel Group, was paid $530,000 for three months of work on behalf of a small Dutch company [Inovo BV] operated by a Turkish businessman with close ties to Ankara."

He also called attention to the fact that on November 8, 2016, Flynn published a pro-Turkey editorial in The Hill, a newspaper which focuses on Capitol Hill and US lawmaking, entitled "Our ally Turkey is in crisis and needs our support."

In his op-ed, Flynn criticized the Obama administration for supporting Fethullah Gulen, whom Ankara regards as a mastermind behind the attempted coup in Turkey in July 2016.

"Gulen portrays himself as a moderate, but he is in fact a radical Islamist. He has publicly boasted about his 'soldiers' waiting for his orders to do whatever he directs them to do. If he were in reality a moderate, he would not be in exile, nor would he excite the animus of Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and his government," Flynn argued.

Mirzayan noted that there would be nothing wrong in Flynn's expressing his opinion if he wasn't lobbying for the Turkish interests while remaining Trump's aide. The question arises whether or not Trump's team knew it.

While the White House signaled on March 10 that President Donald Trump didn't know that Flynn had been working as a representative for Turkey, Flynn's attorneys said that they informed Trump's transition team before the inauguration that he might need to register as a foreign agent.

Citing an unclassified Department of Justice (DOJ) document dated January 27, 2017 Ross wrote that Flynn was first contacted by the DOJ's National Security Division on November 30, 2016.

"In light of that editorial and reports in the media about potential ties between Lt. Gen. Flynn and others who might be acting on behalf of the government of Turkey, on November 30, NSD (National Security Division) requested additional information from Lt. Gen. Flynn and his firm, Flynn Intel Group Inc.," the unclassified document read, as quoted by Ross.

The journalist specified that Flynn registered as a foreign agent under the Foreign Agent Registration Act (FARA) in early March, 2017.

According to Mirzayan, if Donald Trump really knew that Flynn had been lobbying for Turkey while being his aide, it will give the President's opponents seeking Trump's impeachment yet another "trump card."

In his article for Fortune, Andrew Kent, a professor of law at Fordham University School of Law in New York City, stressed that "the FBI and Department of Justice prosecutors should look very closely at whether Flynn violated FARA or other federal criminal statutes in his work for Turkey."

Meanwhile, facing a dilemma, Flynn sent a request to the Senate Intelligence Committee and the FBI signaling that he would testify on the "Russia investigation" in exchange for immunity. However, citing a senior congressional source, NBC News reported Friday that immunity for Flynn is "not on the table," and that his request was denied.
